Mount edge riverside hotel in Bandarawela

lovely people, stunning location and unique rooms.

This marvellous property lies in between the Bandarawela hills. We were a group of 7 male friends from New Delhi, India. There were two huge rooms, with 3 king sized beds, with an accommodation for upto 12 possible persons. The entire ground floor was meant for us, with our ‘Micro Tourer’ van driver, given a separate room upstairs. There was a separate huge sitting and dining room where we enjoyed our India Australia cricket match. The host/manager was very helpful and cooperative. He helped in washing our clothes in the washing machine and gave us the evening coffee and morning tea. One could hear the low sounds of the gushing waters of a rivulet, from the property, tingling one’s sensation. Staying in the laps of the nature has its own disadvantage. Three of our folks were bitten by leaches, while playing badminton.

Vejay & Glowri are the jewels in the crown. They treated us like King & Queen, they came into the kitchen and cooked for us, we were unable to help as our offers were turned down. The food they prepared was fantastic, so tasteful and made with such skill. Our every whim was catered for. We had enjoyable evening sharing our traveling stories and showing endless photos on our phones. The ducks and rabbits were a beautiful sight along with the amazing surroundings. Please do not hesitate to visit Mount Edge Riverside Hotel, you will love it as we did. Thank you Veja & Glowri, we hope to return 😀

Amazing stay in Bandrawela en route to Ella. The home comes with its own river that we had blast swimming in. The front yard and garden hit the spot morning/evening tea. Highly recommend for families visiting Sri Lanka. Special thanks to our host for the constant touch and communication and making us feel right at home

Wir blieben für 1 Nacht. Der Host hat uns herzlich willkommen geheissen und alles gezeigt. Die Unterkunft hat alles, was man braucht. Der gesamte Platz, wo die Unterkunft liegt, ist riesig. Wenn wir etwas brauchten, stand der Host jederzeit zu Hilfe bereit. Danke für den Aufenthalt!

Excellent séjour ! La maison était propre et agréable. Bel emplacement, le cadre est juste magnifique. Le personnel présent est super gentil et serviable. Nous avons passé de très bon moment en famille. La veille de notre départ, il nous a fait un barbecue. Nous avons vraiment adoré le séjour.

Apologies this will be the longest review ever, but I must do it as we all have fallen in love with this beautiful fairyhome. Not sure whether the words i know are enough to describe our enchanting experience.We stayed at this beautiful breath taking fairyland for 6 days. It was my 5 year old sons second visit to Sri Lanka and I took my parents with me too. My son turned 6 there so there were thousands of dreams planed in my head to celebrate his birthday with my fanily for the first time in Sri Lanka. Thanks to all these beautiful souls in this beautiful place all those dreams were full filled beyond expectations. Dear Kasun, i am extreamly grateful to you for having the ability to maintain such a gorgeous clean fairyhouse without damaging the surrounding enchanting environment. Your mum aunty Sujatha was amazing , sich a beautiful kind soul and personality who looked after us and support everything i planned for my parents and son. Vijayan is the most amazing trustworthy responsible hardworking caretaker/manager i have met in a holiday home or a hotel so far. His wife Gowri is such a lovely character who surtounded us with love and care. The love care, security support during tgis stay, me my son my parents my brother my friend Thilini our biggest support Jagath received were just unbelievable. My son actually cried when we left this beautiful home and we had to turn around to go give another hug to Vijayan his Carom partner. He still asks to go back. We managed to invite and peacefully offer an arms giving to two Venerable Theros who lives in the temple opposite the fairyhome. Thankful to both Ven. Theros for acceptinv the invite to the home with such short notice and blessing my parents and my son and all of us. Everything went perfect and beautiful , Aunty Sujatha, Vijayan , were just amazing .Gowri and the little resturant related to the mount edge hotel have been supportive too.

Insects but its unavoidable i guess due to the nature

We were a little late to reach our destination on that day But when we entered our accommodation, the first thing we observed was that it was so great. Everything was very neat, clean and beautiful. This is a really nice destination in a beautiful free location I firmly believe that the idea of coming back was in the minds of everyone in our group. I'm sure finding a destination like this in Bandarawela will benefit many more in the future. So thank you very much for your service with great hospitality as a in charge here..! It like a little white palace…

Mr. Nadan has arranged the breakfast it was fine. if we are bringing the food items we can prepare the way we need. all the kitchen equipment’s available in the property. Mr. Nadan helped a lot during our stayed

no near by restaurant had to go to the Bandarawela town

This place a lot of bugs and insects inside. I found a big cockroach in the towel cupboard. There was also a noticeable smell in the kitchen area. The housekeeper was excellent though and was very nice & helpful. However, I would not recommend this place based on cleanliness.

Nice property, very clean. The caretaker onsite is super helpful.

The rooms, bathrooms were very clean, comfortable, and the staff was amazing. The place had so many useful facilities and has a wonderful view. I highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting Bandarawela. It was a wonderful experience at the villa. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable.

Nothing to complain. An exceptional place.

We stayed for one day at this scenic place surrounded by lush green mountains and river flowing right next to the villa. We had very tasty barbecue in the chilling night with the help of Sunil. Only thing we felt was utensils were not clean, maybe because nobody used them, but Sunil did it for us. Overall very memorable stay.

There’s no privacy over there at all. Not gonna come to this place again and not going to recommend for anyone as well, when we getting ready the guy over there rushing us to leave the place. He keep reminding that you guys must leave the place at 11.00 A.M. is this how you people treat a visitor. And also if you guys planing to play pool and going to use the hot tub you guys need to pay additional 500 rupees per person per one hour. When they put the pictures on the website they didn’t mention any of these things. I came all the way down from USA and didn’t expect this to happen. Very disappointed.

The place is well isolated from the noise of the town, but located close enough to the main roads for buying any supplies. You may need to contact them before checking in, as the route suggested in your navigation app could be erroneous. We had a smooth check-in; enjoyed the weekend in peace had a great time. If the weather helps, you can use the open area for playing during the day and star-gazing during the night. Pool table and Jacuzzi needs to be purchased separately. Will definitely visit again, when the rainy season is gone.

A very well kept place with ample facilities. Vije was very helpful and will be back again for sure.

The villa is surrounded with picturesque view. The host accepted to drop our bags before check-in. Helper was very friendly. We had a wonderful time.

The location is great, very quiet and idyllic.

Our family of 8 had a great experience at this home! Clean Good house floor plan - open space Quiet Great play area for kids just outside the home Communication of owner/caretaker was great Kids favorite part was exploring the creek! We recommend.

Really nice place to stay in bandarawela. Nice view and scenarios around the Villa. And the keeper is also really friendly and he helped us a lot in getting food and preparing a bbq and also helped us manage transport to the bandarawela station. Would recommend everyone going to Bandarawela to try staying here.

Nice spacious house in the montain with great views.

A perfect get-away location from the city hustle. The morning views, waterfall within the property is just mesmerising. The house is exactly as seen on the photos. Lastly, kudos to Vijay (the caretaker) he is really helpful

Location is about 6km from bandarawela town. The host gave very clear instructions (Maps showed a longer route). Caretaker was very courteous and helpful. Place was cleaned thoroughly. Had an amazing view. The lake was really refreshing. Lawn was pretty well maintained (suitable for sports). Overall had a really good stay!

Shree was an excellent room Boy. Very accommodating and quick to respond. We had a lovely family holiday with our family and friends. Enjoyed the large outdoor green area. Would highly recommend this place
