Bike Shed - Beautiful 1-Bed Cottage in Shorwell

Great accommodation in a beautiful location, with friendly hosts. We had a wonderful weekend away. So many picturesque walks and a lovely local pub. We would definitely book again.

What a gem! Looking for a dog friendly stay away from the hustle and bustle and found this amazing cottage. It was exceptionally clean and the hosts Shirley and Terry could not have been lovelier. It had everything you could want and loved the nice touches of being greeted with a bottle of wine, scones, milk and fresh eggs. Would love to stay again!

The double bed could be bigger, but that is the only thing I can think of

Lovely place to stay. There's a beautiful view across fields to sea from the decking at the back and it's so fun to watch the farm animals from the front. There were other people staying in the adjoining lodges when we were there but we weren't bothered by sound and it felt private and safe. We hope to come back one day.

I spent three nights here over the Easter bank holiday weekend and it was the perfect base for exploring the Isle of Wight. Everything I wanted to visit was no more than a 15-30 minute drive. The location is very private and peaceful. The host gave me complete privacy but was always available if I needed her. The property was spacious, well equipped and absolutely spotless. It was in such good condition that I could have been the first person to stay there. I could not have chosen a better place to stay and I thoroughly recommend it.

Very well looked after property. The small details that made you feel welcomed. The arrival gift was perfect. Communication with the owner throughout was excellent.

Rural stay in a great location and fantastic set up.

The whole experience was amazing! From the entrance drive, to the beautiful Bike Shed Cottage to the Chickens & Pygmy Goats, to the surroundings and the beautiful setting. A break made in heaven

Unfortunately we chose a week where the weather was biblical in the rainfall, but that took nothing away from our accommodation.

Wonderful place and really lovely hosts! Amazing views and such a peaceful environment. We were kindly left a bottle of wine, some scones, milk and delicious fresh eggs by the hosts which was brilliant. Would happily stay again!

Our room was well equipped, clean and bright with a seating area outside to both front and rear. The hosts also added some personal touches which were much appreciated.

Our smoke detector started beeping during our first night and we were unable to remove the cover to access the battery which unfortunately put paid to our first nights sleep but the hosts immediately rectified this once we informed them the following morning.

Loved the setting, the hosts and the chicken TV ! Its a beautiful rural location, endless skys, loads of walks and central to the island. Easy to get around with a car. Oh and I highly recommend the donkey scanuatry.

Shirley was a lovely host. The location was central. The views fantastic and above all are peaceful. Scones,the wine and even the eggs where a lovely touch.

This shouldn’t be a negative, but a 5ft bed would make all the difference.

The location is breathtaking. Everything been outstanding! Even we had a warm welcome with cream tea, bottle of wine and eggs from the farm! Definitely I will be back!

The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean and tidy. The fresh eggs and scones (with jam & cream) were lovely on our arrival and there was everything we needed to make a cup of tea, including fresh milk, which was much appreciated after our travels. The hosts were friendly and communicated well. We enjoyed the chickens outside the front door and the quiet picturesque location.

A car is advisable as the nearest bus stop is a 20 minute walk and only 5 a day. The facilities were lovely but if we had to be picky a hairdryer would have been handy and small toiletries to enjoy the bath.

We were delighted to stay at the bike shed, beautiful quiet location great for a base to explore the Island, the hosts were very friendly and left wine and scones for our arrival - such a lovely gesture. The kitchen was well equiped and the cottage clean and newly decorated.

The only thing which could be improved upon is the size of bed...that's only because we are used to Super king. The double was however very comfortable and would not stop us booking again.

Great stay at the Bike Shed! Cosy accommodation with high quality finish throughout. Fantastic hosts, who were flexible about check-in time and greeted us warmly each time they came to do the chickens! This is a working farm - you’ll be woken to the sounds of farm life! We were happy to be up and out early in the sun, walking our dog in the fields around, nipping down for a swim in the sea or heading off for a nice hike! The house is well situated, with everything we wanted to see only a 5-10mins drive away. The hosts were knowledgeable about the area, e.g. they recommended us the Chequers Inn for dinner (which was good food and a great price!). The main entry has a large window which is a beautiful feature and gives you wonderful views over the farm. It does let light in in the mornings, if that bothers you. There is a little deck out back you can sit on to have an evening drink while watching the sunset, then come inside and warm up by the log fire. A stunning location, comfortable accommodation, extremely helpful and friendly host, this was a fantastic place to stay, we would love to go back!

absolutely stunning location shirley was lovely host who welcomed us with open arms and even gave us a lift into Newport when we couldn’t get our cab when leaving. also left us a cream tea and a bottle of wine when we arrived ! she went above and beyond to make us as comfortable as possible. will definitely be back

Beautiful setting. Bridleways from the property for miles, perfect for walks with dogs and a lovely way to see the countryside. Loved the special touches and cream teas. Thank you again.

There is nothing not to like

Host met us on arrival and was very friendly and super helpful. They provided lots of little welcome goodies , which was much appreciated after a long journey. We instantly felt at home. The accommodation was charming and very clean and the beds were really comfy, had a great nights sleep. We especially loved the chickens outside, they kept us well entertained. The location felt quite remote, which was exactly what we were looking for in an escape from the city.

The Bike shed was perfect. It had everything we needed during our stay and Shirley was a great host. Having cycled from Bournemouth all the extra little provisions were greatly appreciated. The location is fab and great for exploring the rest of the island by bike. We were very sad to leave but are planning to return :)

Fantastic accommodation in such a beautiful setting. Far surpassed our expectations. Shirley was incredibly accommodating and extended such a warm welcome going an extra mile to make the stay really special. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The location was tranquil. The property was well maintained and serviced.

The only aspect that had a negative influence was a message from the Travel Nest Team informing us that our payment had been declined. The subsequent email on the 23rd apologizing for the error was appreciated but we did spend one evening wondering how secure your site was

An absolute delight of a place. Perfect size and dog friendly. It is in a fabulous spot inside IoW AONB. They gave us a lovely and warm welcome and even got some chicken eggs fresh from the chickens outside the room. Lots of nearby walks too.

The property was clean, bright and spacious. A lovely stay for my partner and I. They provided eggs, milk and cream tea which was a lovely touch. I did note that it was my partners birthday so they kindly left us a birthday card and a bottle of wine. A lovely place and a lovely host!

I had a nice time. Very comfortable and a lovely owner. Loved the scones, jam and clotted cream provided on arrival along with a bottle of wine and fresh eggs. Wonderful to have the chickens just outside the front door. Good dog walking area and it was nice and quiet.

The Bike Shed was light and airy but also very warm and cosy. We had a friendly and helpful welcome and the property was spotlessly clean. Great to wake up to the chickens that provide eggs for breakfast right outside your door.
