Cleeves Cabins, Ailsa Luxury Lodge with hot tub

Loved our time at Cleeves Cabins and would 100% consider returning in the future if I'm in the area.

We had a lovely stay and thoroughly enjoyed the wood fired hot tub! The perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Scottish scenery.

The cabin was beautiful as too was the location. Robert was amazing, so friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful place. The place was so cosy and clean and the views was breathtaking. The wood fired hot tub was a very unique feature and was so clean. Very romantic getaway place and ended with an engagement. Will definitely be back and the host is so friendly and lovely. Really felt like we was at home. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The location was fabulous, lovely views of fields and animals. The peace and quietness were heaven. Robert, the host, was lovely and was very informative about the area and places to see. Will definitely be going back.

Lack of storage space for clothes wasn't a big thing, really, as I always take a hook that clips over the door so I was able to hang my clothes up.

Robert was very good on communicatingthe check-in procedure and then came to meet us when we settled in and sorted out the hot tub and went through the facilities and local area, he was very helpful. A nice welcome bottle of bubbles to have in the hot tub was a nice touch. Location was excellent, in the middle of nowhere but easy road access a perfect combination.

We had a wonderful weekend stay for my partner’s birthday!! Robert was a great host and really helpful. The hot tub can take a while to get going but worth it to relax with the gorgeous views. You do have neighbours but it felt very private and they were a good distance apart. We can’t wait to come again!

Cabin was lovely and in a great secluded location

Spent 2 nights in this cabin with our 9month old. The cabin was spotless and felt like home away from home. The hot tub was a little tricky to get started though we aren’t very knowledgeable on wood fires though with that being said the host couldn’t have been anymore helpful and was attending the fire when we were out. Amazing stay and we will be back Thank you.

Lovely cosy cabin, warm.

Only thing we would recommend is a jacuzzi/hot tub, it felt like a bath we were in, waiting for the water to heat up in the tub, constantly having to top up burner with logs.

Had such a lovely stay! Very cosy and perfect for a weekend away. Felt right at home and was very private which was such an added bonus. The cabin itself was very clean and even came with a bottle of Prosecco to settle us in. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for somewhere for a weekend getaway.

Had the most peaceful and relaxing weekend away from a busy life here! View was stunning throughout the day, very cosy and chilled perfect for a quiet weekend away. Hot tub was perfect for climbing into at the end of the night. Everything you needed was there to unwind and rest.

Having too leave

Everything was perfect: clean, comfortable, a breathtaking view, I could go on for ages. The hot tub was especially popular with our 3-year-old. Robert also came and greeted us when we arrived (early check-in worked out even on short notice). He explained how the hot tub worked and gave amazing recommendations on what to do in the area, which we tried and loved. We are happy to come back in the future.

Very great stay a couple of weeks back. Host went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable stay. Perfect place for those who want to switch off and relax.

Just home from a lovely and peaceful 2 nights stay with my husband, toddler and baby! Plenty of space for the 4 of us. The views are beautiful, my little boy loved seeing and hearing the cows and sheep. Hot tub takes a while to heat up and the fire kept going out, but once we got it going it was great. Just to note there is another cabin next to you which i didnt realise, although you do still have privacy. Robert is a great host and very down to earth. Only minus I have is the bed, not the most comfortable and slats kept moving.

Nothing everything was amazing

We spent 3 nights here and had the loveliest time! It was very warm over this weekend so would definitely recommend keeping the blinds down while the sun is shining. Everything was perfectly clean and all of the appliances worked well. The road up to the lodges isn’t great but when driving slowly and around the pot holes it was absolutely fine and definitely worth it. I would definitely recommend taking a trip to the lynn glen falls walk - it is only a short walk (took maybe an hour or so) but the waterfalls and scenery is beautiful and it’s only a few minutes drive away from the lodge! Robert was the perfect host and was always quick to respond if we messaged him! Would definitely recommend!!

Amazing little pace to stay. The views are stunning especially on a beautiful night. Clean and comfortable place. And the outdoor bath style hottub was unreal.

Couple of days break with my 2 children was amazing..the place was easy to find..everything you needed was in the cabin..hot tub was so relaxing very private and so peaceful..the host was very helpful..highly recommend 🙂

We had an issue with the plug for the sink but it was a minor inconvenience on an otherwise perfect stay!

We had the best time at cleeves cabins. Robert was so kind. It has the prettiest scenery , you feel as if you’re in your own little bubble. Plenty things to do around and towns to visit.We will definitely be back.

the property was well located and had everything you needed. I went with my wife for 3 nights midweek and thought the price was more than acceptable based on the location views, facilities and the owners accommodating and attentive approach. On day 1 we arrived and the property was spotless. Robert had already filled the hot tub and lit the fire burner to get it warm. he talked me through all things I needed to know. On day 2 I had a business trip planned and my wife stayed behind whilst I was gone. the night before I asked for an iron which I couldn’t find an iron. I messaged Robert at 10pm he replied advising there was a travel iron to use. on the day I was away I messaged Robert and advised my wife was having issues with emptying the tub. He replied right away and sped up on his quad to empty it. he then started to refill it. I messaged again advising this was done and he went to light the burner. he also showed me how to get a good long lasting fire going and replacement wood was always on hand as well as fire starters and a lighter. once the fire is going you have to occasionally add more wood. As a man (caveman) this was a delight and wasn’t to much hassle. When the tub is hot it is hot so keep an eye on the volume of wood added as once hot you don’t have to tend to it as much. the space overall was very comfortable. I personally thought bed was very comfortable. I get constant complaints from my wife about snoring and the whole time there I didn’t. maybe it’s the air. anyone looking for a get away, quiet time and a great cabin, location and host then don’t hesitate. I am definitely going back.

On day one there was a slight smell in the bathroom. I advised Robert and he said the sump had just been emptied and the lid was loose. he sorted it and there was nothing afterward. it wasn’t bad and sorted instantly. definitely not anything to put you off. a glitch by the people that empty the sump.

Absolutely stunning place. Hot tub was the highlight of the trip. The place was spotless and the views were amazing. Two nights was not enough!

Robert was a fantastic host and really friendly. The lodge was perfect - both modern and cosy. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Hot tub was great for the small amount of time we could get in it, however, it did take a while to heat up (may have been due to the torrential weather). Also, the road en route to the lodge is quite bad so please drive with caution. Robert also left us a cute little welcome package with treats and Prosecco. Great stay, would definitely recommend!

the property was nice and clean and had what you needed. i don’t feel it was what we expected though.

There was a small lack of communication with the host, and still yet to receive a reply back. unfortunately it was to do with the hot tub I’m sure would be ideal in dry location but we lacked of supplies to restart a fire and had to go to garage at 10 pm to get our own lighter etc.

Beautiful location and facilities that exceeded my expectations. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing break away. I’d recommend two nights minimum to fully unwind and appreciate the quiet.

Husband and I had a wonderful time here. Brilliant host, we had everything we could possibly need. Hottub very relaxing. Overall stay was relaxing, just what we needed. There were board games we enjoyed, loved being able to cook yet also had the opportunity to order food locally. Will definitely be back!! Thank you!

This place is absolutely stunning, the view was incredible and the cabin was furnished to such a high standard and incredibly clean. The host had great Communication and when our shower was only giving out cold water, he came to fix the boiler in less than 10 minutes which was then a quick 5 minute fix after that. The towels were so lovely and fluffy as well. We arrived on probably the hottest day (of many years) and the blinds had been left up so the cabin was incredibly warm, I would probably just say to try and minimise this in the future by leaving the blinds down on hot days. We were however supplied a fan which helped plus we had the foresight to bring our own as well. The welcome pack with a bottle of Prosecco and delicious biscuits and crisps was a lovely touch but we were disappointed in the morning to find there was no coffee so I will bring my own next time. We are a family with young children and didn’t find the place too small at all and the kids loved playing in the hot tub as did we when the kids went to bed and enjoyed a beautiful sunset and moonrise. This cabin is a much better option than trying to cram a family into a hotel room and being stuck once the kids have gone to sleep. We would love to visit again.

Cozy, peaceful, breathtaking landscape…What more do you need? Absolutely astounding place!

The property was nicely presented and clean. The host came up to explain how to operate things and was available to us if we needed anything during our stay. The views were also nice although nothing special, just a couple of fields with cows and sheep.

The property advertises itself as a cabin with a hot tub and even mentions sea views somewhere, which I feel is very misleading and not worth the money we paid. The hot tub is just that, a tub that you fill with water, are requires a lot of work if you actually want to use it. When we got there, the host arrived shortly after and explained that the hot tub is not connected to a power source so there's no lights or pumps. He told us it is so that the lights and pumps don't distract us from the views (as if you go blind as soon as there's a bit of water moving around you). In order to get it heated up you need to start a fire in the connected external heater. This was done for us before we arrived on day 1. However, the host informed us that we need to empty the hot tub every day and re-fill it before next use. This took forever and because he never told us how to build a most efficient fire to heat it up as quickly as possible, the first day we waited almost 5 hours for it to heat up to the point where it was warm enough. Finally, even though the property states it can house up to 4 people, the hot tub is only for two people. It is actually very small and awkward to use by more than two people as there's nowhere for the extra people to sit/position themselves. So all in all, you get a "hot tub" in the literal sense - a tub outside filled with warm water - but not in the sense that we expected. We were very disappointed by that, as if we had known what was it actually was and what was involved in the running/maintaining of it we definitely would not have booked this place. And not to mention there's definitely no sea views, despite the fact that it is listed as one of the features on the property page on Booking.com. All you can see from the cabin is just a couple of fields with cows and sheep.

We had a brilliant stay at Cleeves cabin. The cabin was well equipped and was in a stunning location. Robert was fantastic and even came to help with the fire in hot tub when we couldn’t get it to light properly. Big thank you for everything and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful little cabin in the middle of a farm. We throughly enjoyed having sheep and cows as neighbours for a few days. The hot tub is wood fired so lighting the fire adds to the whole Scottish countryside experience. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Just back from 2 nights stay in Cleeves Cabin, this place is stunning if your looking for a quiet and I mean very quiet get away then this is the place the only thing which you can hear when sat out on veranda or in the hot tub might be the faint Baa from a sheep. The cabin itself is immaculate and comes well equipped. Robert is extremely helpful and even set our hot tub on for us arriving. Will certainly be back and would highly recommend.

A great location. Very peaceful. Not a far drive to the coast and sight seeing. We spent the entire time at the cabin and in the hot tub. Weather wasn’t good when we were there but we didn’t expect any better in February. Just nice to get away from it all. Host couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly.

Great for a chill out for a few days. The log fulled Hot tub took a wee while to get up to speed but it was winter so what did we expect 😁. Robert was on hand and happy to help when needed. Bring some board games because if it’s raining as walking wasn’t that much fun.

Beautiful place and very peaceful

The perfect place for a minimoon. The views were incredible, the peacefulness once in the hot tub and star gazing even with the clouds! We got to see wild deers and being only 20 mins to Irvine and largs was great to be so close to the beach. Cute little waterfall 10 minutes away and a forest walk behind the cabin. Robert was great with checking in and bringing firewood and lighters every day. Underfloor heating was great on the cold toes!

Struggled with getting the fire started in the wind (us problem!) but Robert was able to get it restarted when we asked him.

Incredible stay. Cannot imagine one better. We’d be there every week if it wasn’t so far from us. Worth every penny and Robert is so helpful; available and accommodating but in no way overbearing and gives you all the privacy in the world! Loved every single second and we are gutted we’ve had to leave!

Had the most beautiful stay here - stunning scenery, ideal location and Robert was so helpful without being imposing. The hot tub was a welcome addition to come home to after days exploring the local area and the lodge was modern, warm and well equipped with all the necessities you could ever need! The animals on the nearby farm were beautiful to look at and Robert’s two new little Labrador pups were super cute too! Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Wonderful cosy cabin with incredible views and amazing wood fired hot tub! The cabin was surprisingly spacious, we were travelling with our baby and all the stuff he comes with and we had plenty of room for everything. The cabin was spotless and really comfortable and nice and warm even on a cold windy night! location is great with glasgow not far and some lovely local areas too

Strongly recommended, the cabin is only about 30 mins outside of Glasgow with stunning countryside views and an amazing hot tub! Would recommend this to anyone looking to disconnect for a bit in a relaxing environment.

Lovely clean, quiet and comforting cabin with great views was exactly what we were looking for a night of relaxation. The hot tub, all ready for us arriving was a treat under the dark night sky with no streetlights for miles. We were only there 5pm-10am yet it felt like a lovely rest from the kids. We'll be back!

Me and my girlfriend had such an amazing time here. 3 nights here was a lovely getaway from the city. Robert was a fantastic host, contactable whenever you need him and I don’t think we waited longer than an hour for him whenever we needed firewood or any other amenities. It’s a lovely and quiet location with plenty of privacy. I’d recommend to anyone who is looking to take some time away and relax in a beautiful setting. Thanks again Robert.

If you need a break away from everyday busy life I would 100% recommend Cleeves Cabins. Relaxing and very peaceful. Wonderful views looking over the land and the hot tub was definitely the icing on the cake. We were very lucky to have fantastic weather but rain or shine this place is a yes from me. Robert was very welcoming and friendly, even his daughter Alex is a wee superstar. I hopefully plan to come back in the near future.

Robert was a wonderful host who warmly welcomed us at the lodge and made sure we were well stocked with toiletries and firewood. The lodge itself is brilliant and feels new. I hadn't realised that there was underfloor heating! That being said, we did not need to make much use of it for we caught some exceptionally beautiful weather. The hot tub was great and we made sure to make as much use of it as possible. The location is lovely and secluded with some quiet sheep and cattle to keep you company! the view of the stars at night were lovely. Best thing was that it was a meagre 30 minutes drive from Glasgow.
