Lovely 2-Bed Cottage at the Foot of the Mournes

Lovely host, beautiful countryside sitting beside the Mournes. Very peaceful and a very warm welcome awaiting all who come to enjoy their time in such a tranquil place.

I cannot say there was anything I didn’t like. For me it suited our stay so well.

A lovely, cosy unit. Everything you need, especially for a short stay. It is roomy and comfortable, and you had your own parking area next to the unit😁 And a lovely host😊

Lovely host who greeted us on arrival with delicious homemade cupcakes! Well equipped kitchen, nice views of the Mournes.

We wanted an Irish experience. A cute little cottage, a puppy, chickens, sheep, and cows. Carol was a wonderful hostess. So sweet and kind. We wanted to stay longer just to visit with her. The beds were very comfortable and the cottage was very clean. We would definitely go back.

Carol was the best host that you could ask for. She made us feel very welcome and we loved staying in the cottage. It had everything that we needed and we hope to come back in the future.

There was nothing we didn't like except going home

Everything about our stay was fantastic. Carol provided fresh eggs from the farm, bread and home baked buns which was so thoughtful of her. We had the best time and would recommend to anyone. Also the cats are so cute and cuddly.

Nice cosy cottage in a beautiful location. Carol made sure we had settled in and had left some nice touches. She Lit the fire and left us homemade cakes.

Our recent getaway brought us to a charming little place nestled amidst nature's beauty. From the moment we arrived, we knew this stay would be special. Our host, Carol, greeted us with the kind of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. Her thoughtful gestures were nothing short of extraordinary. She had freshly baked muffins waiting for us, it was so delicious. As the evening set in, Carol lit a cozy fire, turning the home into a haven of warmth and comfort. It wasn’t just the crackling flames that warmed us, but also the effort she put into ensuring we felt at ease. The surroundings were equally enchanting. Rolling hills, vibrant greenery, and a tranquil atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing stay.

Stayed 10-13 December, we feel so lucky to have found this property,Carol and Warren perfect hosts ,warm ,friendly and welcoming.We arrived to the stove lighting,Christmas decorations, homemade buns and fresh eggs,could not have done any more for us .Lovely rural location,a place to come back to ,many thanks 😊 Margaret and Martin Dublin

if I'm honest I would have paid more for the accommodation, the host is amazing, she baked us some cakes and left out some food for us, lit the fire for us on arrival so the place was nice and warm. the location is spot on. there's plenty to do from walks to playing in the river. there's lots to do on those damp days in Newcastle, which it's just down the road. I'll definitely be coming here again.

The owner went above and beyond to make sure our stay was good. She met us on arrival. The cottage was warm and the wood burning stove lit for us. Fresh eggs and buns left for us to eat. House is down a short lane situated on a farm. Could view the cows while parking the car! Lovely view of mountains from kitchen. Very well positioned for walking in the mountains and touring Mourne area. Exceptionally clean and many extras in the cottage such as toilet roll.

We liked everything. Great for couples. Quiet for business travelers.

Domek wewnątrz jest uroczy i przytulny, ma wszystko co jest potrzebne. Właścicielka jest bardzo sympatyczna i zostaliśmy bardzo miło przywitani. Czekały na nas domowej roboty ciasteczka, ale także podstawowe produkty na śniadanie takie jak: chleb tostowy, jajka, mleko, masło, kawa, herbata. Domek znajduje się na wsi. To prawdziwa agroturystyka z krowami i kaczkami. Było też kilka kotów. Doskonała baza wypadowa w góry Mourne. Bardzo nam się podobało. Dziękujemy

The little house is great for access to some wonderful Mourne hikes. It's exactly a 5 min drive to Little Carrick car park. The house is neighbors with cows, ducks, cats, sheep and a dog. We found it quite comfortable and asked & received a few more knives to carve pumpkins the day before Halloween. Lovely time we had. Would be happy to return.

Carroll and Warren are great hosts. So attentive to our every needs. Shared area places to see and eat. It is a wonderful working farm. Now…. Be persistent with Travelnest, until you get all the information you need.

Amazing. The second time we have stayed and it just gets better. Our host Carol is the nicest, kindest friendliest person. The cottage is warm and cozy, spotlessly clean, comfy beds, good internet connection and has everything you need for a self catering stay. On arrival Carol left us warm apple crumble and custard, freshly made fruit bread and cupcakes, fresh bread and milk, freshly laid eggs and butter and we arrived on a cold day to the log fire blazing. All this on top of the most stunning setting. Thank you Carol and your lovely family.

Couldn't stay longer 😔

Un accueil chaleureux et un superbe emplacement avec vue sur les montagnes. Nous avons été gentiment accueillis avec des petits gâteaux. Il y a de jolies randonnées à faire autour. Vraiment ravis !

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Carol our host was just so warm and welcoming. She couldn't do enough for us. She left us fresh eggs, milk, butter and bread as well as home-baked buns and shortbread. There was an assortment of teas and coffee and everything you would need for a self catering stay. The cottage was lovely. Warm and cozy. Spotlessly clean. The cottage is on a working farm, which we loved and Carol told us to feel free to go around the farm, even taking a break from her gardening to show us around. A bonus for me was picking the freshly laid eggs from the hen house and I got to take them home. We loved the geese and hens pottering around and Teddy the pup stole our hearts. Wally and Lily the cats were also friendly.The scenery was stunning. The cottage was a gem of a find and Carol is a diamond- a real lady. We will definitely be back asap.

The only thing we didn't like was leaving!

It's an active farm with sheep, ducks, etc. which gives an authentic experience. The host Carol was so nice and friendly. Gorgeous mountain, lake view and just a few mins away from shore too.

Ontzettend aardige en vriendelijke gastvrouw, heerlijke zelfgemaakte cupcakes en koekjes stonden voor ons klaar, eieren van de eigen kippen in de koelkast. Alle faciliteiten voor ontbijt waren geregeld. Aanrader!

Extremely well-equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. Our host, Carol, was lovely - and left home-made cakes, biscuits, muffins, eggs, bread and milk for our arrival. Coffee, teas, sugar etc were available too, the internet connection worked well, and we wish we had been there longer to make better use of this lovely cottage.. We will definitely be returning, but would like to stay for a week next time as a weekend wasn’t nearly long enough to visit family (the reason for our visit) and to explore the wonderful countryside where the cottage is located.

The location was beautiful at the foothills of the Mourne mountains. It was close to our start point of our hike up the Mourne mountains. We arrived in the dark and was blown away by the views in the morning. Carol our host was so friendly and gave us lots of local knowledge of the area. She also had some homemade queen cakes and shortbread ready for us when we arrived, with farmhouse eggs and milk ready for us in the fridge. It was a lovely and welcoming touch to arrive into a lovely and warm place especially after a long journey to get there. The beds were very comfortable and we slept so well especially after being in the mountains all day.

The reception we received from the family was really welcoming. The cottage was warm and one might say very comfortable, with a marvellous view of Slieve Binnian'. Carol, our hostess was very keen to do all she could to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The cottage was perfectly placed for walking in the Mournes'.

The weather was rather a challenge as our intention was to walk in the Mourne Mountains, which we did.

The cottage was so homely. The host was so kind and had home made buns and fresh farm eggs for us arriving. Nothing was a bother for her. Our stay couldn’t have been any better. Will definitely be back. All round we give 5 star plus!

This is a really outstanding airbnb. We are both interested in farming, and the counrtryside. This suited us superbly. Carol is one of the best hosts we have ever encountered in any country where we have stayed in airbnbs. She was so welcoming and provided us freshly baked cakes, a loaf of bread, milk and eggs.

Lovely hostess, she had home made pastries ready when we arrived!

The beds are a bit hard and it’s an old place, but the house is very well equipped and comfy.

It's a working farm so I was expecting some noise. But a tractor going back and forth within a few feet of the bedroom window until after midnight both nights meant that I did not get much good sleep.

Location perfect for the Mourne mountains.

This is the perfect base to explore the mountains and surrounding area. I actually wanted some peace and quiet to record music and the self contained flat was an ideal hideaway for that. Carol was a really wonderful and kind host, it was an absolute pleasure to meet her. Warren was instantly responsive if I had any queries. The mountains nearby are stunning! Irish musician Percy French lived nearby, who wrote the song 'Mountains of Mourne' - the lyrics say it all...thank you Carol and also Warren.

Lovely views. Carol who greeted us was lovely. Nice touch providing homemade cakes. Milk, eggs, bread, tea and coffee all provided. Excellent value for money.

It's quite remote which is ideal if you're looking to walk in the beautiful surroundings. We were spending time with family at the nearby Warrenpoint point Blues festival so it was a bit pricey getting a taxi everyday. But that's more poor planning on my part.

The property was self catering, however er, the hostess gad baked pastry ,left, milk, farm eggs, milk and butter. She was extremely friendly and welcoming.

The accommodation was excellent and exceeded our expectations 4 to 5 star.

House was spotless and the host Carol was superb, friendly and informative. The little tin of cakes she left along with the fresh eggs from the farms hens were much appreciated. We look forward to returning soon.

Właściciel nie robił żadnego problemu w związku z późnym zameldowaniem. Na powitanie czekały na nas świeże ciasteczka i jajka, chleb itp. Piękna, cicha okolica, dobry kontakt z wynajmujacym. Oh it was so lovely, carol was the sweetest host you can imagine. Definitely recommending staying there. And if you are planning to stay there I would recommend to stay longer, because their is so much to explore and it is very lovely staying there. If you like cats bring some treats so the farm cats will like you too 😊✨

The location is perfect for walking in the Mournes and for visiting local parks and the beach. We received a warm welcome to the cottage. After an hours drive from the ferry in Belfast it was so lovely to find fresh milk in the fridge, bread, cakes, fresh eggs and tea bags.

Loved the peace and quiet. Greeted on arrival and was provided with a loaf, milk and freshly baked cakes.

Not that we didn't like it, but found it hard work going between two kitchens for various utensils.

The location was quaint and cosy, tucked away in the countryside but within travel distance of the local towns. The hosts were excellent. Provided essentials along with homemade treats.

The weather blocked out the views of the Mournes, but that wasnt the hosts fault. Just bad weather and lots of fog and mist.

We had a fantastic stay. Warren's mum. Carol, greeted us with a warm welcome. They had the fire going before we arrived, making the place nice and warm for us. We also got to enjoy some homemade cupcakes. The place itself is perfect. It has everything anyone would need. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is well-equipped. Internet fast and reliable. We are very happy with everything. Our 2-year-old daughter enjoys watching the chickens outside. Carol gave us some fresh eggs as well. We are really glad that we have picked this place. We would highly recommend Warren's place.

A very warm and welcoming family The cottage was exactly where I wanted to be for hillwalking It was on a working farm The host was very generous with her time and kindness The scenery was spectacular

The rooms are quite small and there is lack of storage, but as I was there alone this wasn't a problem, but it could be a problem if you had a party of four persons staying for a week.

Very friendly owners surrounding views are very good

I liked the close location to mountains for walking & mountain biking. The property was compact but had everything one would need & felt homely.

The only downside was no freezer box in the fridge (for ice blocks) but that is just being picky.

Great cottage in beautiful valley, great location in relation to Mourne mountains, about 20 min to Newcastle beautiful town and Slieve Donard car park, 5 min drive to Silent Valley. Host was welcoming and accomodating. Clean, tidy and safe place, has everything you need for self catering stay and Warren ( host) is just next door if any assistance is needed. Little touches of coffee, tea, cereal, milk and homemade DELICIOUS scone were very helpful!!!

Lovely cottage on a farm yard at foot of mournes. Handy for silent valley & sliver binnian walks. Hosts are close by so very quick to respond to initial questions when landed.
