The Old Paint Shop Apartment - Centrally Situated

Very well put together holiday let. Right in the centre of Anstruther. Facilities superb. Parking is awkward and unless lucky outside The Bank - you will need to park at a short distance away. We enjoyed our stay. The only drawback which I appreciate there is little the provider can do anything about, is the very very noisy residents above who thud about their flat until late at night

Very easy access.

The property is really clean and functional. It has everything you need from an Air B and B. Lovely bedding, comfortable living space and great kitchen. Walk-in shower is fabulous.

The beds are standard double, so very small. We had to share each with a child as we didn't fit in the bed and no we are not overweight! The kitchen appliances could do with more of a clean and the glasses had to be washed before use. There is no dishwasher. We were not able to open any windows.

Upon arrival keys were in a key safe located at the front of the property and code was sent via email, easy access. Beautiful property, immaculately clean, we felt immediately at home. The property was of a high standard, very well thought out with everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Perfect central location to explore Anstruther and the surrounding areas. Would certainly stay again, and would recommend 10/10

Slight road noise if you were staying in the front bedroom, we were in the back so it didn’t really affect us.

As every other review says, the place is immaculate. Absolutely spotless. The place had everything we needed, and it was very comfortable. The location was perfect as we were steps away from everything we could want. It was the perfect place for our weekend away.

As many have stated, it is on the main road so the noise might bother some. It didn't bother us, but some others might find it disturbing. We could tell somebody lived upstairs, but it wasn't too noticeable, but again, it might bother others.

Absolutely fabulous apartment. Beautiful, immaculate and cosy.

Unfortunately the noise from the upstairs neighbour was truly aweful. It was constant. Like a herd of elephants. Washing machine was put on around one in the morning.

fabulous appartment in centre of town and 5 mins walk to harbour and beach. place was spotlessly clean. lovely furnishings comfy beds. fantastic shower and lovely fluffy towels. Great facilities ie plug sockets with USB ports Everything you need in the kitchen but as we were only there 2 nights jut used kettle and toaster. delicious shortbread and milk waiting for us. would definitely stay again. A wee home from home

The house was beautifully appointed, very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was very nice, modern and had everything we needed.

It was hard to find the entrance. We asked at the hotel next door and a very kind employee showed us. 😄

The apartment was spacious and beautifully decorated. We felt very much at home. The location is great as we could walk to cafes, and along the harbour.

Spacious and exceptionally clean. Had everything I needed. No parking was a problem had to park 100 yards away near a pub. Wouldn’t suit someone with mobility problems and several stairs to entrance. Close to a very busy main road

This property was perfectly located for the small town of Anstruther, just a couple of minutes walk into the town. The place was immaculate, clean, comfy and had an amazing shower and clean linen.

Nothing but if I have to say anything negative there is no adjacent parking but that wasn’t a problem for us. Parking up the Loan (near the co-op) available but we used the Esplanade.

This is a really excellent place to stay. Very central but nice and private. Just couldn’t fault it at all. Everything was a high standard, really nice bathroom and kitchen, great shower.. Very spacious accommodation throughout, and we felt at home instantly. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay. Beautifully set up. Facilities just what you need for a comfortable stay. Local shop close by to purchase milk etc on arrival. Bus network to local areas a bit challenging but once different stops were sorted it was great. Quite a bit of footstep noise afternoon and early evening from flat above - not annoying once you learn to ignore, was just unexpected. Front door key access a bit stiff and difficult - door needs pulling to line up. Wo up of recommend

This property was probably the best self-catering accommodation we have ever stayed in - and we have stayed in MANY! The photos really don’t do the place justice - it was beautifully laid out, and more than equipped for a holiday let. You could easily stay for a couple of weeks, cooking every day, and STILL not use all the utensils and pans etc! Thank you for letting such a lovely property, we’ll be back.

We stayed here for a new years weekend (4 adults, new born and dog) and found the cottage spacious and spotless. Plenty room for all of us and everything we needed. Very comfy beds and cosy throughout. Local area is beautiful with plenty of food and drink options, great views along the coast. You do hear traffic from the front rooms but this didn’t bother us, it still felt private and peaceful. We would book this cottage again.

This was the perfect place for our first family Christmas with our little one. Extremely clean as well as being spacious and cosy at the same time.

Only a very minor complaint, it did get too warm and we found it difficult to regulate heating. We love a warm house and the weather outside was miserable and wet, however we found the bedroom too warm for our liking. The flat is on a busy road and there is some noise. We are used to this so it wasn’t a big deal but may bother some people especially in the front bedroom.

The apartment was exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The bed was comfortable and the whole apartment was beautifully furnished with lovely finishing touches. We would definitely recommend this to others.

Newly refurbished, comfortable and very, very clean.

Noisy as close to road. One bedroom at front on Saturday evening was very noisy due to traffic noise. Late check in 4 o’clock early check out, 10am so for 2 nights was not great as you only got 1 full day.

What a fantastic stay we had at The Old Paint Shop it was everything you could wish for and really central to local restuarants and the harbour. The apartment was really clean and well equiped . It provided lovely toiletries, bed linen and towels. I cannot recommend this place enough and cant wait to return.

We had a lovely stay here. Apartment was immaculate and very comfortable. All on one level with a few steps inside property. Everything you could possibly need and want from a holiday stay. Great location with free parking nearby. Our only negative would be that its on a busy road so a bit noisy. Def recommend and hopefully return.

Lovely spacious apartment- very tardis-like! Faultlessly clean - absolutely spotless. Lovely big towels and nice sheets - everything smelt wonderfully clean. Very well stocked kitchen and lovely toiletries provided in bathroom. Anstruther is a lovely place. A couple of tiny drawbacks to mention: the apartment is on the corner of a busy road and the cars and buses whip around the bend. This didn’t bother us too much as we live in a city but it might be difficult for those not used to noise. Secondly, and I appreciate not much can be done about it, but there was an awful lot of noise from the flat above - lots of banging (so much so that the lights in the kitchen were rattling). Neither of these factors spoiled our experience and the flat itself was wonderful.

Absolutely brilliant place. You could not wish for a better place. It is extremely comfortable and the location is brilliant. It is a little on the hard side to find. We didn't have the code before we got there, but a call soon sorted that out. Loved the place. Best I've stayed in in Anstruther.

The Old Paint Shop is a very very cute and modern yet homely place to stay, within walking distance of everything in Anstruther. The flat is extremely well equipped but what stood out most was how IMMACULATE the place was - honestly if we could afford a cleaner, I'd hire theirs straight away! The towels and bedding all smelt delightful, also very good quality. The furniture was all very modern and coordinated and the styling of the place seemed very professional. Still, we felt the kids could still comfortably enjoy the space, and enjoyed lots of hidey holes and spaces. They particularly liked watching the traffic go past so close due to the narrow pavement - great for the little ones, but not so great for light sleepers or folk seeking real quiet. The beds were exceptionally comfy with an abundance of pillows and blankets, and the bathroom well equipped and styled with toiltories provided. I'd absolutely stay there again if another trip to Anstruther comes up. 10/10

Location on main road which is pretty constant during the day but much quieter at night. To be honest after coastal walking all day we just crashed out and there was no problem sleeping.

We very much enjoyed our stay in the Old Paint Shop. It was spotlessly clean and was well appointed. We had a lovely meal at the Dreel Tavern which was only a few minutes walk away. All local amenities were close by.

The property was exceptional! Absolutely everything you could need, immaculate, very well presented and fantastically located. Anstruther is one of our favourite places to visit so we won't be hesitating booking here again. Also, I need to find out where those beds are from because I slept like a log!!!

INFORMATION ONLY - this is not a criticism as I knew that the apartment was on the main road but if people are not aware of this before hand the traffic noise might be an issue.

The old paint shop was absolutely spotless, comfy beds, and great quality bedding. It has everything you need. It is on the main road,so a bit of traffic noise. Anstruther is just lovely. In an ideal location for going to other places. Like St Andrews and Crail.

Quite possibly the best appointed airbnb i have stayed in for the money. small touches like extra pillows on the bed (6 versus 4), a bath sheet instead of a bath towel, a walk in shower, a perfectly kitted kitchen. even a christmas tree! framed instructions and information that you cannot miss. easy check in with a lock box. plenty of space. highly recommended!

No parking near to properly. Should have said in original info that parking is a walk away and not next to the property No windows to open so felt stifling . Heating had not room thermostat so was constantly turning heat up down and off. This being said, it was a lovely place to stay , close to family.

Only one key so when one member of the party went out and the others were still in bed had to leave the door unlocked as otherwise it's a fire safety hazard. Could be easily remedied though.

Great accommodation. Has everything you need, is clean and in a fantastic location. Parking is a 5min walk at most but we managed to stop at the Loan, drop our stuff off and then move our car which was good as we have 2 under 5s. Would love to go back and wish we were staying for longer.

What a fantastic stay in The Old Paint Shop. The house was perfectly located only a few seconds walk away from the centre of Anstruther. It was spotlessly clean and everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. There has clearly been a lot of thought put in to making the house as nice as it is. Parking at the the top of The Loan is actually only a minutes walk away (use the lane to walk back to apartment), and in fact we brought our car to the back of the apartment when leaving for a few minutes to load up the car. Only slight downside is some road noise, being right next to the main road, but this didn't detract from our stay. Best coffee shop in Anstruther definitely the nearby 'Bread & Butter'. Would recommend doing the coastal walk to Pittenweem, takes around 30 minutes, start at Anstruther Golf Club. Crail worth a visit (lunch at Crail Harbour Gallery excellent). The Ship Inn at Elie great for lunch or dinner.

A bit noisy right by a road through the village - could be sorted with double glazing at the front of the property.

The property is situated on an extremely busy road. The 2nd bedroom faces on to it and the noise of traffic was deafening - I wouldn't be able to sleep in it. No parking whatsoever
