Shepherd's Hut @ Westcote

Liked the dogs were able to run free as we had the site to ourselves one night, and it was secure. Our hut had the more private hotub, which we ended until late in the evening.

The toilet could have been a little better, but in the middle of a field, can't complain too much.

We were cycling in the borders, this was a great stop over, brilliant, had everything we needed, very comfortable, couldn’t want more.

Fabulous stay. Super friendly and helpful owner. Rustic but pretty much all you need. Hot tub was brilliant. Would absolutely go back.

Lovely peaceful spot, great place to stay if you need a chill ! The shepherd hut was so cosy and not as cold as we thought it would be. We recommend paying a little extra to go in the hot tub too. Well worth the price - nice and clean and the outside toilet was clean too.

The property is set in the most gorgeous spot. Looking out over the fields of Hawick it’s truly stunning and serene. Would definitely recommend booking the hot tub, such a great addition

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property, it has everything you need. However, the cleanliness could have been better. We did have to ask to move cabins as there was a strong smell of cigarettes. Having said that, Annette was so attentive and really was at our beck and call. She couldn’t have been more apologetic & sorted it out straight away

The place is Good with a beautiful nature surrounding . The thing we disliked is they have cut the grass but they didn’t picked it up. Its all over the ground. Our shoes was so dirty because of that.

We loved the shepherds hut, the area was very peaceful with nice views. One thing that could potentially be a problem for some people is the toilet - it’s not a water system toilet, just a plastic funnel bit at the front and a bag for everything else with sawdust to cover. This means that men also need to be seated to pee. Overall we would definitely stay again, perhaps child free next time so we could use the hot tub.

annette was a super host and made sure we had a fab stay, the hot tub extra was perfect with the rural scenery. definitely recommend

Heel mooi verblijf dichtbij Hawick en ideaal op doorreis naar Newcastle. Goede oven en glasplaat om te koken. Weinig keukengerei aanwezig zoals snijmes en olie dus dat zelf meenemen. Het bed lag heel lekker.

Beautiful scenery, very comfortable bed, perfect spot for exploring the borders. Lovely riverside walk on the doorstep. Can recommend the cross keys hotel in Kelso for delicious food and Annette was very attentive and gave us lots of advice on things to do. The prosecco was a lovely bonus too!

Really liked the rural and private feel, even though it was so close to Hawick town.

Would have been good to have had lids for the pots and some firewood easy to hand (midges are an issue without some smoke), but hosts were brilliant and brought some down for us to be able to sit outside.

We loved our stay!! The perfect peaceful place. Will definitely be coming back. The beds were so comfortable and everything has been carefully thought out. The dogs were so welcome and they had a fab time too ☺️

The whole experience was amazing, we only had an overnight stay for a christening but it was perfect, everything we needed and it was the most peaceful weekend we've had in ages

The hut was beautiful, really cosy and comfortable. The hosts were extremely helpful. Very well equipped and had everything you needed . Use the hottub, which the kids absolutely loved . Shame we was only staying for one night as there was a lot of exploring to be done.

The only negative was that there was no blinds / curtains on the window in the door. Had a very early start with the kids.

My daughter and I stayed for one night driving south from Scotland. Our shepherds hut was welcoming, warm and cosy, and having pre-arranged for the hot tub to be prepared, perfect! It was also great to have an oven. We had pre-shopped and so our supper cooked while we sat in the tub! Our dog liked the freedom of the area, facilities were great - so, all in all, a perfect glamping night stop. Thank you Annette

Lovely and cosy wee hut for our family and puppy. It’s small but perfectly formed with every space utilised cleverly. The enclosed field was perfect for our puppy. Annette was helpful and very friendly on arrival and during our one night stay. I think this is ideal if you’re looking for somewhere charming for a short stay and in lovely countryside surroundings.

De wagen waarin we verblijven was klein, maar heel praktisch en gerieflijk ingericht. We waren verbaasd van de ruimte die we toch hadden. Ook is er aan ieder hutje een elektrische BBQ. Maar vooral de hout gestookte hottub is een absolute aanrader!

Was really a great place with friendly host. I rated it lower on the cleanliness but I wouldnt expect a camping place to be perfect, so it wasnt a problem.

Great wee break in the Shepherds Hut. Although it is in the field with the other huts it didn't feel at all invasive. Great vibes, great roads around for some cycle trips, great weather, great views, great hot tub, great bbq, great all round. Like a little campsite, but much better! Couldnt find a chopping knife so maybe worth bringing your own.

We visited for two nights with a ten week old and a three year old. Annette was an incredible host. She came over to see us as soon as we arrived, assisted with all the amenities at the site and gave instructions with how to use. She was absolutely wonderful with our wee son, who loved to follow her and her husband around when they were changing over the campsites. The place was so clean and the showers were fantastic. I was surprised how clean the eco-toilets were. Everything seemed brand new. The fire pits and bbq included were very new and in great working order. The beds were very cosy - I loved the goose down duvet so much I am trying to find the same one for home. My toddler loved the top bunk - we had brought a bed lever to make it extra safe for him and it worked perfectly. The entire experience was fabulous and we can’t wait to come back again. We would recommend 100%.

We wanted a secluded glamping experience and we got just that, the facilities were really high quality, every thing we needed, the hottub was an absolute must even in the pouring rain! Really quiet and relaxing and annette was so so helpful. Will be back, really fantastic value for money!

Beautiful location with cute and funny houses. Looks like the photo’s. It could be a little cleaner, I found other people hairs in the bed and the floor was wet on arrival. Otherwise, had a great stay.

We didn’t fully know what to expect before we turned up but went away loving every second of it. The hut was bigger than we thought, well equipped and the beds really comfortable. We were very pleased with the great BBQ and fire pit for us to use at our convenience. Would happily go back.

Les lits sont confortables mais il ne faut pas avoir peur des petits espaces, surtout le couchage du dessous. Dans notre roulotte, il aurait été préférable de ne pas être 4 car le 4e lit est petit et étroit. Notre hôte fut très sympathique.

The hut was very well equipped and clean with small fridge, hooks to hang coats, outside eating area, comfortable beds - everything you need. Perfect for 1 adult and 2 children. Relaxing in the hot tub with the view of fields (which the owner very kindly got ready for us, and explained how to use) made it a memorable stay. It's a small site so was quiet and the other visitors were friendly and considerate.

Leuk opgezet. Er staan een stuk of 5 wagons/ huisjes op een groot grasveld. De pipowagen heeft een eigen toilet achter de wagen. De douches zijn verderop en worden gedeeld. Verder is de wagen van alle simpele gemakken voorzien. Buiten is een gas bbq, een zitje en vuurkorf. Ook kun je gebruik maken van de hottub die bij de wagen hoort, geef dit van te voren aan.

De entree vinden is een uitdaging. Het bord kan groter zodat je het beter ziet.

We had a dry day, not sure how id feel going to the outside toilet in the rain.

Location was great, tranquil but still close to amenities. We actually played outdoor games and had a blast ( no computer games or stuck to a phone) and sitting by the fire pit listening to music was a great way to end the day.

Weather was poor so getting to the hut across the field was very muddy, I guess it is late in the season but maybe a pathway would be great.

The accommodation was cute, comfortable and cozy.we booked the big hot tub for both nights for our daughters birthday and it was a great addition.

Lovely hosts who would do anything to make sure your stay was comfortable and you feel so welcome. Our children collected eggs which they loved after never being as close to chickens before. Lovely bbq and breakfast packs and local too for shopping for essentials. Hottub was abso lush and again kids loved overlooking hills and sheep and went in a few times. Pit fire just lovely to wind down with a glass or two by the fire. Loved every minute ❤ we will be back

Fantastic!

A beautiful little Airbnb. As a group of 4 adults looking for a place to sleep on a roadtrip, it was perfect. It is a very small accomodation, but the beds were comfortable enough to sleep on, there's a hob, oven and fridge with plenty of cutlery and a pan etc. There's gas for the BBQ, and firewood is provided for the firepit. The shower is a little underpowered, but it's a price worth paying when you consider you're in such an idealistic location with stunning views and walks in abundance. Anyway, the shower is cleaned properly, so it's actually better than a lot of others I've used. The outside compostable toilet was surprisingly hygienic and comfortable to use. We visited in June so the weather was rather pleasant, but I'm sure it would be fine in the winter unless you're a bit of a snowflake. We didn't use the hot tubs, but they looked very popular with the other guests. For a countryside getaway, it's a perfect choice. I will definitely go again in the future.

Very cosy hut, was a bit cold but the inside heater did the job. Great BBQ and fire pit. We had everything we needed, including a hot water bottle which is definitely a must use!! Hot tub was fabulous, stays wonderfully hot for hours. Nice seeing the farmyard animals and going on walks around the local areas too. Overall, a very relaxing and cosy stay!!

The location, the camp fire, the hot tub and the accommodation were all excellent, as were the hosts. Highly recommended. We would come again

Such a great trip! Shepherds hut was so cosy and welcoming with perfect little touches to make the trip easier and welcoming! All staff were fantastic and always on hand to help whatever the question! Hot tub was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed this with the beautiful views! Amenities were great and very clean. We’ll be sure to come back - highly recommend this great stay for such a great price too!! Thank you!!

This place was excellent! The surroundings were so relaxing and I felt very safe, the toilets and showers were brilliant and had everything you needed. Annette who I was corresponding with was amazing, anything you needed help with or needed to ask she was always willing to help. The cabin itself was great very cosy and warm had, everything we needed. I will 100% be coming back

Everything!! From the lovely friendly welcome to the setting to the Shepherds Hut to the Hot Tub to the Breakfast hamper everything was amazing. So relaxing sitting in the Hot Tub watching the sun go down. Breakfast was delicious Great nights sleep. Hut had everything you needed and loads of lovely little touches.

Great accommodation, quirky little glamping area. Great location and quiet, just what was needed. Toilets are shower areas wee spotless. Hosts were onsite a number of times to answer an questions. Great sleep as glamping areas very comfy. Hot tub was an extra we booked for our stay and we were not disappointed . Loved every minute . Defo be back and will also let friends know about this place. Amazing stay enjoyed every minute

Such an awesome experience! The kids loved the novelty of sleeping in the cosy little shepherds hut, and it was wonderful to have all the sheep right outside the window! The facilities in the hut were fab, and the chemical toilet clean and organised. Annette was a wonderful hostess who checked we had everything we needed, and the children particularly enjoyed feeding the lambs with her in the morning!

Nice spot for a few days get away. Very well equipped and lovely warm showers. Feeding the lambs in the morning was a highlight! Thank you!

This was a fantastic experience. It is right on a working sheep farm amd the beds were very comfortable. Firewood is provided for the firepit (one for each hut) and the kitchen was well equipped. Would recommend for an escape from the busy roads ad world.

Everything was perfect! Our hut was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay. Our host Annette was super helpful and our two boys enjoyed collecting fresh eggs and feeding the lambs on the farm.

We had a brilliant two night break in the Shepherd Hut at WestCote Glamping. The hut is very well equipped - we appreciated the full size oven, plus fridge and very comfortable beds. The location is perfect just 1.5 hours from Edinburgh in a peaceful meadow with hot tubs, eco loos and hot showers on site. My boys loved feeding the lambs and collecting fresh eggs too! Thanks for a wonderful stay, cannot wait to come back ❤️

Super place for a getaway!

Annette was a fantastic host who tended to our needs and gave us great tips on what to do. We had a walk around the local area and visited The Auld Cross Keys Inn for food and ales. I highly recommend adding the hot tub and the breakfast hamper on to your stay!

We have just returned home from a 2 night stay. We enjoyed every minute & Annette & family were brilliant with my 2 boys! They went over & above to chat & make us comfortable. The boys loved it so much they want to come back soon. Thanks again 5 star service 😊
