Had a lovely stay and owner sent text message as communication. Would recommend staying there.

Beautiful view and plenty of room

Patio doors in the lounge leading to the balcony were broken ,so it was very hot in there as sun comes in ,and only two small windows to open , patio chairs were out on balcony so couldn’t get them to use . Tin opener needs replacing . A little dated but clean and comfortable.

Fantastic views and location overlooking the sea and close to Porthleven town.

The house remains tired and in need of TLC, looking at previous reviews from a year ago, many issues raised remain. Balcony door still not fixed, lack of mirrors in rooms, ensuite shower leaking and water not that hot. House is quite grubby and tired and many windows not opening. The TV broke when we were there, called the owner who said it was new, it didn't look like a new TV. No offer to help solve situation at the time. Its a great size for a crowd and in an excellent location just don't expect too many home comforts.

Beautiful sea view. Large spacious property for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen. Warm and cosy. Welcome basket. Peaceful location. Books to read. The host was willing to help and checked on us the morning after there was a bad storm during the night.

Areas of the property could do with a deep clean, under beds, and corners of rooms and light fittings. Sofa ( cream)would benefit from a clean. Some cosmetic issues

Nice big base to explore...

It's in an excellent location. Large, on three floors. Big living room with 3 or 4 sofas, a little snug that can seat 4, dining table in kitchen for ten. Plenty of room to spread out. Total of 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges large kitchen/ diner big open hallways and landings with a toilet on every floor. 2 showers and one bath. Fire alarm back up battery died beeping in the night. I contacted the owner who came out and fixed it no problems.

Others have said it is "tired". But for price I paid (and with no security deposit) I was more than happy. Yes, as with anything there are a few jobs that need attending to but some of that is due to mistreatment by previous guests tather than owner neglect. Yes, there is an on going issue with the patio doors over the balcony that wont lock. But its elevated so unless the burglar was spiderman id feel safe. Certainly nothing coming close to spoiling our visit.

Had a lovely break and it was perfect for us. A large extended family with two pets. Amazing views.

Amazing views of Porthleven. Spacious accommodation, allowing pets was a bonus. Well designed kitchen, lounges with plenty of seating for 10.

Insecure Patio door on the balcony, no locking system in the door runner. Informed the host who replied "Thank you for letting me know". Although I'm sure this had not just happened prior to our visit. Broken piece of glass left in the dishwasher on arrival and several items discovered throughout the week down the side of one sofas and in the radiator grooves. Shortage of mirrors, One in king size bedroom and a moveable wooded stand alone in one of the smaller rooms. It would of been nice to have more mirrors in the other three bedrooms within reach of a useable plug socket for drying hair.

Liked the location and the house a lot. As advertised views are fabulous and hard to beat in that area of Porthleven.

The property was just slightly lacking a little loving care by the owner nothing serious but lacked a lock on a veranda door and had some very tatty ripped curtains and blinds.

We had a lovely family holiday in a great location but due to our above comment would probably not stay in this proper

Very spacious -perfect for large family holiday , lovely views /location , large garden for children to play in , plenty of on site parking which is a real bonus in Porthleven. Nice modern kitchen and downstairs bathroom.

Possibly more attention to detail/maintenance needed-in one of the bedrooms the main light did not work -new bulbs needed we think , also lamp needed bulb. Patio doors - no way of securing them -no lock mechanism what so ever so property never properly secure . Some of the windows would not open properly . There were Blinds at some of the windows but no string to pull them down or up . Also s some of the bed linen had minor stains on it . Lacking in mirrors in bedrooms. We paid nearly £1000 for three nights so don’t think that these unreasonable comments.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sunny Bank!! It was a lovely spacious house with plenty of room for 10 people and a big garden, plus the sea views were stunning! It was easy to walk into the local town for a pasty & the pub. An overall fabulous stay:)

Great stay, would come again.

The location was great and the views were phenomenal. Porthleven town only 10 mins walk away and Loe bar only 15-20 mins walk. The property was fully stocked with everything you could need during your stay including towels, hand / washing up soap, kitchen utensils etc.

The balcony door was broken. It looked like the locks had been taken out intentionally which seemed suspicion, so we had to keep valuable in the car to be extra safe. We never had any issues though as the neighbourhood was super safe. The property advertised that a BBQ stand was available but this was not the case. Minor things that didn’t ruin our stay but something to be aware of.

great views and location sadly was not a high enough standard inside to match the price tag.

great location and size of the property was great.

central heating didn’t work down stairs. rips in curtains windows do not close properly. overall very tired with pealing plaster/ paint in several rooms. shower tray flooding upstairs. property could do with money spending on it. photos on the booking .com do not represent the actual property at the time of visit.

Absolutely beautiful location, with a gorgeous view. It was about an 8 minute walk to the beach. Towels were provided! There were 11 of us in total so having three toilets/two showers was great. In terms of amenities unfortunately there was no hair dryer, the bbq set was outdated, and due to the hot weather we required a fan which wasn’t provided. 1/2 of the mattresses needed to be updated as you could feel the springs. There’s a cupboard full of games and a shelf of books which is great for families/groups. Spacious rooms, fridge and kitchen full of cutlery/plates etc. Garden was very big and had tables/chairs available. Great stay overall!

A fantastic little find - would 100% stay again for the sea views and the lovely location!

Absolutely incredible views, lots of space, can accommodate large groups, free parking and easy access. Short walk to the beach and the town centre with lovely pubs and restaurant options

Only thing I would change would have been being able to access the balcony off of the sitting room. It wa locked and had old broken furniture - assume a safety issue but would have been amazing to be able to use that space

Worth it for the views!

House was big with lots of space! Views were breathtaking around the property! Beds very comfy and 2 bathrooms is definitely a plus! Great location, walking distance from the beautiful quaint town of Porthleven! Also hosts were easy to contact and very helpful!

Few little bits needed some work doing. Says there's a hair dryer but could not find one anywhere!

Good veiws. Dated property. Not very clean or comfortable. Bedding smelt dusty. No balcony.

Location perfect, thats about all i can say

2 of 4 beds we used had spiders in. 1 Tiny TV for such a big room, only tv in the property wasnt the best for kids. Very dated & old furniture. Bedding smelt dusty.. Got told to “leave the sheets off the bed” so they know whats been used and dont have to change any other bedding.. instant put off & bad hygiene.. alot of the windows didnt lock, balcony door didnt open.. hot water cut off a couple of times.. Over all property was amazing for veiws but thats all that can be said.. Owner was quite rude and said his cleaner was in tears because we left a few plates and cups from the night before as we didnt have time to wash them due to leaving at 7am in the morning.. we took bedding off as requested and washed and dried all the towels we used and left NO rubish or mess atall.. terrible attitude towards customers and needs a new cleaner!

Well worth the long journey for an excellent stay. Many thanks to Jeff and his superb house.

We liked everything. The house was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The towels and bedding were spotless and there was constant hot water. The views were superb, and we wanted for nothing. Jeff, the house owner, is a man of few words, but is extremely helpful and amenable. We shall definitely be returning.

Porthleven house with a view

The house was in an amazing location with exceptional views over the bay. There was plenty of room for our party of nine. The kitchen is modern and has all the equipment necessary The host was very helpful and was there to greet us and show us around and allowed us to park at the property before our access time

There were some negatives The house was a bit tired and could be amazing with a bit of TLC We had issues with locking the patio doors and the shower head in the bathroom was very fragile and broke. The only direct access to the garden was through a bedroom that was not very convenient for letting the dogs out in the night when the room was in use. We did run out of hot water but that’s what you get for having 5 teenagers wanting showers. We had a vacuum cleaner but could have done with a dustpan and brush and a mop and bucket. Especially with 5 kids and 3 dogs from the beach. ( if there was one we couldn’t find it) None of these things ruined our stay but may help someone else

Wonderful family holiday

Sunnybank house was in a superb location, the views are stunning, Portleven is a really beautiful harbour with lots of lovely restaurants, pubs and shops. The people were especially friendly. Jeff was on hand at all times before, during and after our stay. The property was very clean and the kitchen was extremely well equipped, being able to all sit around the table to eat and look out at the sea was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable. Being able to take our dogs was an added bonus, the walks on the doorstep were amazing.

The property could maybe do with a little updating but it had everything for us as a family, we loved it and will definitely return.

Whilst the house and location are great, just about everything indoors lets the place down to the point of spoiling it. Inadequate basic provision, extraordinary dirty, iced up freezer, no outside chairs to use on the lovely veranda, bad beds, bad cheap furniture, nowhere to hang up coats or put 'stuff' from outside. And very cramped dining room - we just about managed 6 around the table. The views and location make it worth putting up with all this for short stay but large group for longer would really suffer from the lack of provision and poorly organised space. How can you let a house with 5 bedrooms and not provide any way of making coffee other than one tiny cafetiere for one person?!
