The lodge was very nice and a good size to move around in. The hot tub was very good we enjoyed that very much .

So clean had everything we needed

Lots of space in the lodge for us and our 2 girls. Good size kitchen with large fridge freezer. Good location, it's 5min walk to pub or play park. Nice touch with the bottle of wine and crisps, much appreciated. Hot tub is nice and good temperature.

Limited cupboard space for food. Outside needs a lot of maintenance to trim back trees and tidy up deck area. Beds were so uncomfortable. I think we only got 2 hours sleep per night due to the springs in the mattress. Definitely need new ones!! I guess we paid a higher price for it being peak time but it was not worth it unfortunately due to the lack of sleep.

The property was clean and a good location for getting around Northumberland. Hot tub and kitchen alliances work well. Host easy to contact if needed and responded straight away to get an issue sorted. Dog friendly

Could do with a little care I think. Mostly good , lounge area is functional but clean. Main curtains do have mould on the bottom. Very limited supply of cooking equipment so take your own, also toilet rolls and bin bags

I enjoyed my stay at the location we were at Chris our host was very helpful when we had a few questions to ask and things to sort out

The whole area is very good The lodge is very clean. There are some attractions very close to the lodge which we all enjoyed. I can recommend Amble Harbour village. We all enjoyed that. You get very large meals for you're money, which is good. Very friendly people wherever you go too. The hot tub is very good to relax in.

The beds were hard and hard to get to sleep on and resulted me having back problems but was relieved by the hot tub by putting your back against the jetties. The front door frame was coming away from the wall. The curtains had mould at the bottom of the lining.

Lovely stay at puddle duck lodge, the chalet was very clean and in a quiet location. Good WiFi and brill hot tub. The site is a disappointment, although well kept and a lovely natural feel with the woodland and lakes, a car is a must to access entertainment, the pub on site is rubbish. But if you want a relaxing holiday and entertainment isn’t important you will be just fine.

Lodge is outdated and needs DEEP clean on arrival was told of smell in the Lodge by clearing staff. Park staff went to check under the Lodge issue after SEPTIC Tank was emptied not the best start. We were very disappointed We cut our stay short.

The outside decking dirty and full of twigs, had to clean/sweep it to get to hot tub. The hot tub was lovely and hot, but needs some TLC. Inside the lodge was nice and clean. The tv had no aerial, so everything was done by the fire stick, which was a pain. Nice oven, Beds were comfy. The bathroom sink cabinet had mould in it, could do with replacing. It sounds not to good but overall I would give it 3 out of 5. Good area to stop in. Didn't use restaurant on site to dear

A great place to stay whilst visiting beautiful Northumberland. The place was bright and clean and had everything you needed. Hot tub was ready to use on arrival!

Lovely cabin, lovely setting within a beautiful park, lovely little walk aroun the lake. Very dog friendly park which was lovey. Very nice hottub. Had everything you might need! Lots of things to do nearby if you have a car, and right next to the zoo.

Puddleduck Lodge is exactly as described and a lovely, peaceful home away from home. We are originally from the area and have family nearby, so this lodge was the perfect place to retreat to on a evening with our 16 month old and our dog. We spent every evening relaxing in the hot tub and the welcome wine was a very nice touch. The lodge itself is in a lovely, quiet spot and we found our stay extremely relaxing. Our host, Chris, was really lovely and very helpful, keeping in touch whenever we had any questions and responding quickly to queries. We'll definitely be back to Puddleduck and would recommend it to anyone :)

Excellent location, tucked away so very quiet and peaceful.

We loved the interior of the lodge, the bed was very comfortable and cosy, the hot tub was perfectly warm all of the jets and lights worked. The cleanliness of the lodge itself was impeccable , only rated lower on cleanliness because of the dishes being dirty but this was obviously because of other people who have stayed there and not the hosts.

The only thing that disappointed us a tiny bit was the spot lights out the front deck not working. But there was lights at the side where we could sit outside so we weren’t really bothered.

Old and tired needs a revamp ,decking area dirty and not clean ,beds sofa old and not comfortable but yet you still are paying top dollar bit like paying for a 5 star hotel but you get a 2 star one instead

Property location was lovely and quiet. two minute walk from the onsite pub

property could be updated in ways, also slight smell of damp. however the property was very clean throughout

Location was perfect, the hot tub was fab only down side was there wasn't any outside lighting but we brought lights from home as had read reviews so not a huge problem. Check in was seamless, rang owner who was really helpful and he provided us with all the information we needed. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again in the near future.

There weren't any negatives, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Property needs better cleaning done before new guests come in . We found crumbs and pet hair in sofa and in cushions. on the last day we found thick Residue inside of the kettle and on the bottom which was pretty disgusting as we had been using the kettle to feed our baby his formula milk with that. in the end we bought our own kettle.

The wine was welcome on our arrival and the hot tub was clean and the right temperature but other areas needed a good clean. A nice site but other lodges nearby were better maintained outside.

No cooking utensils provided, had to use a knife and fork to turn food in the frying pan. Only one tea spoon there. TV channels could not be found using the tuner, had to watch TV on wifi which kept freezing. No rubber mat for use in the shower. No lights around the hot tub making it too risky to use after dark (in December with the icy conditions). Other lodges nearby were well lit and better maintained outside. Cutlery drawer needed cleaning. Wardrobe door needed repair as it did not open or close freely. Damp, musty smell in rooms, black mould in the bathroom which had been reported by previous guests but not rectified. Dog hairs and chocolate wrapper found between the sofa cushions, obviously not checked beforehand. Leaves lying round the hot tub, a broom was left outside as if to say it was our job to clean up. We had to clean inside anyway.

Good location and access to on site pub, stayed on site before so knew what we'd have access to. Decent enough wifi, working oven and utensils. Hot tub warm and clean. Welcome bottle of wine and crisps.

Now the negatives! Leak under kitchen sink making a loud humming noise. Dated furniture and carpets, terrible main bed which smelt old and dirty, mold in bathroom, broken toilet seat and wall trimmings loose. No lighting around or to hot tub, nothing maintained or cleaned outside. Cupboards doors in main bedroom broken, collapsed sofas in sitting room. Sorry to say this property has 100% been neglected and not maintained, everything needs updating or replaced unfortunately. Reading older reviews, this seems to have been mentioned loads but not acted upon by owners. Shame as the cost of the property per night reflects somewhere that is modern and looked after. Our long weekend wasn't ruined but left feeling disappointed and sadly won't be returning.

Outside not very appealing, no lighting, lights that are there not working old unused patio furniture left near the entrance, rubbish in plant pots from previous guests, lots of cobwebs above living room window inside property, filthy foot mat at hot tub area. Smell of drains in the bathroom. Hob lights on the cooker, only one working, plastic trims lose on window and door frame, dining room chairs need attention.... Decking area had not been cleaned before our arrival, table and chairs not set and dog bowl on the table. Attention to detail non existent. Footpath up to steps, a trip hazard. Basically, the outside needs serious work, and the inside is not up to standard for what you pay.

Clean & tidy very nice place, nice people too. Had a nice selection of dvd and TV chilling.

Had to get in touch with the owners as toilet seat was not fixed very well and could have been dangerous for a disabled person.

The cabin was amazing spotless had everything you need in it, the hot tub was great very relaxing. There was even a band on at the end side of the lake, which was a bonus.

It would have been better if there had been an inventory check done prior to our arrival. Only 2 side plates, 1 wine glass, 1 tsp. Airer was broken. But on request replacements were provided

Lovely lodge in a really nice and quiet park. Would recommend staying here. I’ve taken 1 star off because we didn’t have WiFi all weekend. We contacted the host who was trying to sort it out with the provider however, it appeared from the login page that it had just run out of data and more needed to be purchased. As a result I had to purchase a bolt-on to tether to my phone. Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stay.

The property is so lovely, it had everything needed for a peaceful couple of nights away. The area is so calm.

If going in the hot tub on the night, I’d advise to use candles, or get some outdoor lights, as there are no lights outside for when it is dark.

We loved staying at Puddleduck for 3 nights, it was a great location in Northumberland and very easy to check in. We really enjoyed the hot tub, the ease of settling in and the welcome gift from the host was really thoughtful. We thought the lodge was very cosy but would recommend a slight modernisation in decor as it felt a little tired. The outside patio was lovely but we thought the decking needed a bit of TLC and some upkeep of the plants would enhance its beauty even more. Thank you for letting us stay, we really enjoyed our trip and would definitely return.

Nice peaceful location with hot tub, great relaxing time with friends. Parking for 2 cars right out front and easy to find.

There were a few issues, broken glass, chipped plate, only 1 light in the bathroom working and the side of the bath was lose. Message the owner who got back to me straight away so hopefully everything was sorted for the next guests.

My family and I booked Puddleduck lodge for a three night stay and we could not have been happier. The lodge was immaculately cleaned ahead of our stay and we really appreciated the welcome gifts of wine and crisps! The hot tub was perfect for evening relaxation and very easy to use. The location was ideal for day trips to the beach and the local village of Felton was perfect for a riverside walk and. We would highly recommend visiting The Running Fox for breakfast or home made bread/scones/savouries - a hidden gem! We would revisit the lodge and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend/mid week getaway.

Lovely, leafy location, well spaced from other properties. Hot tub and outdoor seating areas are well located as is private parking. Lounge furniture is comfortable and whole lodge was very clean.

Just enough room for 4 adults, would be perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. We found beds hard but that is a personal preference. Would have preferred more dining utensils as there was only one set each but wasn’t a problem.

From the outside it looks lovely but the minute you open the door all you can small is wet dog, it’s stinking. I bought air freshener and had all windows and doors opened constantly however every time we went out and came back the same smell greeted us the minute the front door was open. The fridge smelt worse than the lodge, we couldn’t use the fridge as everything you put in the fridge smelt and tasted like the horrible smell coming from it. All electricity and water is turned off at 9:30 on the day you are leaving so if anybody needs the toilet before you leave don’t expect to be able to wash your hands. The lodge is clean so definitely can’t complain about that but the smell for us just ruined our getaway.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Beautiful clean lodge, perfect for relaxing. Hot tub was well maintained. Location was very handy for traveling to the places we wanted to go. The site was nice and quiet and very well kept. Both us and our dog felt right at home. Very grateful for the welcome package on arrival too. Would definitely recommend and possibly even stay again.

Only one thing we mentioned would be putting blinds in the bedroom like there are in the living area, as at this time of year it gets so bright at 4:30am and the curtains don't keep the light out.

Lodge is in a nice position, the hot tub area gets the evening sun through the trees and is nicely set back. Inside has everything you need. We regularly come to this area of the coast but wanted to also visit Cragside which made the location perfect as both are only short drives. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin is very nice.Think it might be a bit cramped if there were 4 adults staying their,but as there was only the 2 of us & the dog & it was fine.Only problem we had all weekend was when we went to the on site pub,the staff on Saturday afternoon totally ignored us.We sat for 15 minutes & in the end we just left.As we only wanted drinks I think that's why we were ignored.Wanted to order a takeaway for the night & was told that it was too early.Went back to the lodge & phoned the order in without any problem
