Cuddfan Lodge on a Gorgeous Private Lake

The property was in a beautiful setting, it was so cosy and comfortable. Stunning views and the ambiance so lovely. The lodge had everything we needed and more.

Excellent lodge set on a private lake, with hundreds of geese providing entertainment from the picture windows, or from the outside seating. The lodge is well equipped (particularly the kitchen) and was very clean and tidy. It was nice to see the 'essentials' such as condiments and olive oil being provided. There was a Smart TV for those wet days (just one on our stay) and a comfy sofa to watch it from. Underfloor heating kept the lodge warm. A great host made sure that we had no queries before we arrived and could be contacted should the need arise (it didn't) during our stay.

Probably personal preference, but the bedroom size necessitated a 'normal' double bed which we found a little small, and unfortunately we didn't enjoy the best of sleeps. Probably perfectly okay for others. It would have been nice to have had a bedside table at each side of the bed, but again, the room size dictated that there was only enough room for one. Whilst the bedrooms (and ensuite bathroom) were on the cosy side, the lounge, kitchen and dining area were expansive.

This stay was for a family get together for five adults. We enjoyed the tranquil location of the spacious property, the comings and goings of the ducks and geese and the sunsets. Whilst there weather was a bit up and down but it didn't spoil the stay. We visited Cardiff, although hadn't realised a few attractions are closed on a Monday, in particular the Museum and also a few shops and other businesses. We had a walk round the area, including the castle and had a game of adventure golf in St David's shopping Centre, which was good fun. During our stay we also visited St Fagans, which had lots to offer and luckily the weather was sunny. We had a meal in the Ruperra Arms, which was about a 20 min walk from the lodge and the food and service was really good. The boys had a game of golf at LLanwern Golf Club, which they really enjoyed. We also visited Newport Retail Park on arrival to get some food supplies at the big Tesco to take to the property. All in all a great trip.

Such a secluded and peacefull setting bit then in easy reach to get out and about. The lake was a find with the wildlife and the house was amazing. Rob and Rhiannon were so welcoming and accomodating. Fantastic hosts. Will come again for sure

Rhiannon and Rob were more than amaziny! The place is even more beautiful than the picture. The kids loved the place, and the farm is just nearby. Rooms are comfortable and everything was really comfortable- one if the best vacations we had. We will come back for sure

Such a beautiful and serene stay! A real bonus with the private lake and views (can see and hear the horses, sheep, ducks). Property was clean and spotless on our arrival and Rhiannon was happy to help with any queries we had before hand. Excellent location and a wonderful lake view to wake up to. Remote and peaceful yet very easy to get into Newport. We stayed for 3 nights as a group of 6 in our late 30's + 1 baby. Our trips purpose was to spend some quality time together as we all now live across the UK and Ireland, and also to attend a friend's birthday in Newport. For this, the Lodge of perfect. The hot tube was also a great addition.

Me and a few friends booked a long weekend stay in the lodge and I have to say it lived up to its pictures and more. The surrounding area and the lake is beautiful and the lodge itself was spotless and very well laid out. I would absolutely stay here again and will be looking to come back at a time when the weather is better!

A beautiful location and amazing lodge. Bigger than the photos suggested, especially the kitchen area. We had a family Christmas here. Five adults and one 6 yr old staying, with two more adults and three children coming for dinner. Dining table extends, kitchen is very well equipped with crockery and cutlery galore. The host was amazing also. She came to see us, brought a bottle of wine and a chocolate selection pack for our son. Christmas tree inside too!! In spring and summer I’ve no doubt this place comes into its own. Stunning place, lovely and warm, and the family had a Christmas to remember. 4 generations under one roof. Thank you. We’d love to come back.

The Lodge was absolutely stunning and the view breathtaking. We had a very relaxing few days and enjoyed the peace and quiet as well as doing some shopping in Cardiff. Perfect stay!

De plek binnen Wales. We zijn na dit huis verder getrokken en andere regio's binnen Wales vonden we mooier. Desalniettemin ook hier veel mooie plekken gevonden. Verder vonden we de bedden niet heel groot (wel comfortabel) voor onze grote mannen, maar dat hadden we kunnen lezen in de advertentie. Dus niet echt iets wat een tegenvaller zou mogen zijn.

Such a fantastic property, we would love to stay again in the future! Beautiful view, peaceful surroundings - its a remote location but actually very accessible to local amenities & easy to travel to Cardiff by train. We stayed here as a family of 4 with 2 under 5s & it was perfect for us. Very helpful & responsive hosts.

A beautiful lodge in an amazing setting. So peaceful and quiet. We got to know the many types of wildlife living on the lake including the herons, coots, geese, we even saw birds of prey. Our children loved the surroundings, we enjoyed the hot tub. The lodge has everything you need for a relaxing stay. The hosts were marvellous, especially upon my arrival where I had left my husband 10 miles back with a flat tire, Rhiannon and Rob could not have done more to help, even offering to go find and help him. A fabulous, tranquil, setting on a beautiful lake. Very secluded. Loved watching the cows and sheep run across the fields and enjoyed the sunsets from the hot tub. Excellent property.

We had such a lovely long weekend at the lodge. The views and location were stunning, would highly recommend. Rhiannon was such a lovely host too. Will definitely be returning!

The view is amazing and the furniture is comfortable. We had a great time before my wedding night. Just one thing to mention, don’t know why there is no cutlery to use in a fully equipped kitchen!

Hot tub wasn’t working for the first day, however the hosts tried their hardest to get it working and was back up and running for the second day

Stayed here with our friends and their kids and we were blown away by the views and the house itself, short drive to town but felt like you were in the middle of nowhere which was so nice. Rhiannon is an incredible host who always made sure we were ok and had everything we needed, Super friendly and responsive. We are 100% coming back and we are already planning our next trip.

I came here with my best men for my stag do and had the best time we could have asked for. The lodge is lovely and spacious and the beds were very comfortable, especially the two double rooms looking out over the beautiful view. We will definitely have to be going back 😊

Stunning lodge, the interior was lovely and spacious but the view was even better! We spent each evening enjoying a bottle of fizz in the hot tub, admiring the lake and watching all the cows, horses, sheep and birds in the fields! You should definitely stay here. It is really near Cardiff which is a beautiful and welcoming city. The place is immaculate - clean, well considered, functional, warm, fun (the hot tub in particular). Just to wake up every morning and get a load of the beautiful view is refreshing and rejuvinating. Would come again with no hesitations.

What a lovely 4 night stay me and 4 friends had in the lodge! The surroundings are so peaceful, with the added bonus of being located close to Cardiff and Newport ! The location of the lodge is ideal for a remote getaway with friends and family but also close enough to Cardiff so you aren't in the middle of nowhere. The rooms were pristine, the hot tub ready for our arrival and the view was perfect!! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and communication with Rhiannon was on point!

We had the most fabulous time away and the surroundings are just beautiful. It was very easy to book through travel nest and Rhiannon was a great host and very accommodating to our needs and issues. The lodge was very clean and tidy and was filled with everything you need for a luxury weekend away, including a lovely welcome hamper. We had a perfect and chilled weekend away and will definitely be coming back!

Really big space, absolutely lovely views

A wonderful place to stay! Comfortable beds, 6 beds in 3 bedrooms although we were only 2 people and so the whole place felt very spacious! A well stocked kitchen with all the basic necessities (plates, glasses, knives, chopping boards) as well as things like salt and pepper which are so important when you want to cook! Rhiannon was amazing, she provided a welcome hamper with processco and welsh cakes, as well as providing eggs, butter, milk, juice and bread for us when we arrived. Hot tub is wonderful - looking out over the lake and fields. It is a warm 40 degrees and felt very luxurious - even in January! There is even a little outdoor fire pit. Comfy sofa, Amazon prime and netflix on the TV if you want to snuggle up with a film in the evening. Overall - a really wonderful stay! Cannot recommend it enough. We will be back :)
