I never really leave reviews but feel in this instance I have to. Sadly we have not had the villa we thought we were paying for. The advertisement on Airbnb at the time of booking clearly said 7 bedrooms and never spoke of one in a common area. When we arrived and complained, the owner changed the advertisement to 6 bedrooms and one in a common area to try and portray that had always been the case. The one in the common area is a dark shoddy cinema room where they put sheets on a sofa. Also, just a really shady way to react. We paid €20k for the villa and on arrival were told we would have to pay extra if we wanted the pool to be heated which would take three days so the pool was freezing. This is ridiculous and makes no sense. It’s like paying for a villa and being told you need to pay extra to put the lights on. A cold pool is not ideal when renting a villa with children present. The pool was also filthy with dirt at the bottom of the pool and frogs in it. The property advertisement said WiFi internet yet the internet on the top two floors doesn’t work. On the bottom floor it worked okay. Again this is not what you expect for a villa of this cost. I complained about this at the beginning of the week and no one fixed it. We were told as its in a remote location that is the best they can do. This is also laughable as the villa is on the outskirts of a capital city! It's not like it's in the middle of the African bush, which to be honest, having been there too, has much better internet than this place. The advertisement also says there is air conditioning in the property and we arrived to find there is only air conditioning in one bedroom and a hallway. Why advertise air conditioning when barely anyone will be able to use it? There is also a huge mosquito problem around that villa so when you leave the doors open at night for some air and cooling, we got eaten alive by mozzys! All of the safes in the property don’t work so we didn't have anywhere to keep our valuables. Furthermore the sliding door on the lower ground floor near the pool table doesn’t lock so there is terrible security there. When we arrived at the property there was no fresh drinking water, salt, pepper, tea or coffee. We don’t expect a fridge full of food but surely the basics. Especially as the local supermarket was closed by the time we got there. For over 24 hours, the water to the property stopped working so we had no use of showers or toilets. I'm sure you can imagine the smells that then arose as all the toilets were blocked. Also the toilet in the bedroom on the top floor didn't work all week. The location has a nice view but it's incredibly windy there so you never feel like you want to relax by the pool. Lastly, the beds were all very small and VERY uncomfortable. I am a 38 yr old man who is very active and exercises a lot and yet in these beds, I was waking up with a bad back every day. We gave all issues to the owner at the beginning of the week and he didn't give a crap about any of it. He just took our money and ignored everything else. I would recommend anyone looking to stay here, to find somewhere else. It was a nightmare of a property with false advertising sadly.
