Great stay - will probably return. The views from the garden and rear windows of cottage are stunning, and the coastal walks from the cottage are just wonderful. The half hour walk to North Berwick for shopping/eating out is thoroughly lovely and very easy underfoot. Note: the photos on the listing don't fully represent the location. We were slightly disappointed on arrival that the cottages weren't more rural - they are part of a small residential area and some parts of it are not very tidy. However, in the end this didn't affect our enjoyment as it is a quiet neighbourhood, and the 10 minute walk to Tesco was actually very handy! We had problems initially with the heating but the owner was very quick to help and it was sorted out - and it was very effective in the unseasonably cool weather we had.
Perfect location over Firth of Forth with great views. The cottage had everything we needed and clean and comfortable
A home away from home. All facilities catered for. Very comfortable.

Great cottage equipped with everything you need.
Cottage was larger than expected and had everything we needed and more. Comfy, clean, nicely decorated. Great for family stay. Would recommend.
The only very tiny niggle was that my partner and I are quite tall and we did have to bend a bit in the upstairs room. Not really an issue as mainly used for sleeping. No freezer, but we didn’t miss it - meant we ate our ice creams out and about.
It was a wonderful and cosy cottage with perfect views!
Fantastic location overlooking The Glen Golf Course in North Berwick. lovely cottage and well equipped. Nice and friendly neighbours and good parking. Ideal for golf holidays.
my only suggesting would be for the owner to install a small handrail near the door of the bathroom to assist anyone getting in and out of the bath and would also protect the glass shower screen.
Beautiful views, fantastic communication from the owner. Would definitely stay again.
Nice place. Well equiped, very clean. Slightly further out of town but nice walks to the town through multiple routes. Ceiling to first floor is low as they state with sloping ceiling as well. Garden was a bonus as was parking. Travelnest were very efficient at comms with us. Great stay.
Comfortable, modern, everything we needed, very comfortable cottage, lovely decor, friendly staff and some lovely personal touches. great location, amazing sea views and beautiful sunsets
The weather, very windy, but views made up for it
Lovely view from the cottage across the Links to the sea especially from the upstairs! Great facilities although we could not figure how to use the hands free can opener. Beds were very comfy and lots of toys for kids big and small. Tesco and Aldi a very short drive away. If you want to eat out in N Berwick you definitely need to book. My daughter and I loved the boat trip around Bass Rock etc to see the bird life and also we recommend both Hugh and Charlie from the Highland Experience Tour. Take the optional boat trip down Loch Ness too. On rainy days we took the train into Edinburgh for the museums and galleries. Altogether a fab holiday and Rhodes Cottage made it exceptional. Thank you Richard for a charming place to stay. I thoroughly recommend you stay here.
The can opener! 😒😒😒 A manual one is preferable for Ijits like me.
We had a great time, views of the sea from all the windows on one side of the cottage, lovely garden, well equipped and so cosy. We know North Berwick and the surrounding area quite well as we visit family often. Would recommend a trip to Drift cafe just outside North Berwick, good food drinks , staff , recommend French toast with fruit breakfast and impressive views of Bass Rock. Take binoculars and watch the diving Gannets. The large glass windows make it feel like your outdoors. Beautiful beaches too with golf courses galore. Spectacular walking all along the coast for miles.
Great little cottage for a stay with friends. Nicely located with lovely views out the back garden over the Glen Golf Club and to the sea.
Peaceful, plenty of parking, easy to arrange and get keys.
Great location for visiting North Berwick. Lovely views from the garden and kitchen window, we were treated to a couple of lovely sunsets over the sea. A quiet location, no noise or intrusions from neighbours. The house was comfortable and clean with all you need to do your own cooking if that’s your choice. Don’t miss Bostock bakery in N. Berwick or East Linton for their legendary croissants, a real treat. A perfect cottage for 2 adults, might be a bit of a squeeze for 4 adults, but that’s mainly due to not having much space for a dining table, otherwise it would be fine if one person is OK in a bunk bed. The bedroom with the bunk beds does have an additional full size single bed in it (bit difficult to tell size from the pictures). A great cottage and the wine and shortbread that greeted us were a nice welcome.
Cottage was nice and clean with great facilities.
Stairs very narrow to upstairs bedroom and parking can be an issue.
Lovely small cottage with a wonderful view to the sea, equipped with everything you need.
A beautifully situated cottage with amazing views of the sea. Very clean and well presented. Excellent communication from the owner Richard at all times. Highly recommend to others. We would be very happy to return.
Fantastic stay. So peaceful and quiet. Arrived late at night and got a stunning surprise when I opened the blinds in the morning. The view from the kitchen window. Is beautiful. I will definitely be retuning
The location of the cottage was fabulous with wonderful views across the golf course to the sea and the Bass Rock. There was easy access to the beach and into North Berwick and to surrounding parts of East Lothian. There was everything we needed within the cottage for a very comfortable stay, with the added bonus of being able to park just outside.
There was nothing to dislike - all good 😊
Great location and facilities
A very comfortable, well equipped, clean cottage with good access to local attractions. Excellent sea views from all rooms. Definitely will return.
Nothing to fault.
It was our second Christmas here lovely cottage with stunning views clean and well presented hoping to be back next Christmas. ♥️
The location was fabulous. The cottage was well heated. The beds were comfy.
There could have been a mirror near a plug for the hairdryer.
We recently stayed at Rhodes Cottage and it was perfect for our requirements. High standard of linen and towels, well equipped kitchen and the property spotless throughout. Very easy access to the beach and the town. Would definitely stay again.
Second time staying and just as good as the first. Lovely quiet area and handy for exploring the wider area.
Goede host. Wij mochten het appartement op verzoek eerder betreden. Dat was erg prettig.
De douchestraal had iets krachtiger mogen zijn.
The cottages was spotless which is important to me
I would have liked a dish rack on the draining board and a blind in the bathroom
Everything about the cottage, but especially the view. Lovely quiet location. Clean and comfortable.

Had a lovely stay with my parents and 2 young children. The cottage was the perfect size for us and was cosy, comfortable and well equipped. There was a lovely view from the kitchen window and the beach was only a short walk away. The town centre was a walkable distance but was very easy to reach by car. Tesco and Aldi close by too if you needed to stock up. Great park/skate park opposite Aldi which my children enjoyed.
The shower could have been better; the pressure was quite low.
Lovely place to stay, with a beautiful view from the kitchen. The location is great and there is a scenic walk into town along the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and had an added bonus of heated flooring. My husband somehow left some jewellery at the Airbnb and Richard very kindly arranged for it to be posted safely back home, thank you! The only thing we have to note is if you are very tall you will have to duck in the main bedroom.
Location was perfect.nothing worth mentioning
Just minor details,not worth mentioning
Brilliant location - easy to get to and convenient for exploring or travel to other places of interest.
Remek fekvés. 5 perc séta a Tesco. A fürdőszobában is.
We had a great stay at the cottage which is in a fantastic location!
Wonderfully views
Loved the scenic quiet location. Cottage is fully equipped and spotlessly clean. Sunsets from kitchen window over the sea to Fife mesmerising. Nice neighbours. Garden to sit in and admire the view.
Loved our stay at the cottage! This house is fully equipped and very cosy. Views from the cottage are breath taking. North Berwick is a beautiful town with lovely shops and nice restaurants. A grocery store is located nearby. Town and beach within walking distance.Would stay again when in North Berwick.
The view from the kitchen window is stunning and the bed was very comfortable. It is a nice quiet area to stay. Only a 25 min walk into North Berwick Centre and the same to the Drift cafe on the way to Tantallon Castle. We would stay again.
Can not think of anything we did not like - not used to East Lothian recycling system so took our cardboard and plastic away but that’s not a reflection on this cottage!
The cottage is kept very clean. It has colouring books and toys for children and other essentials.
The image sold to us of a sea view from the garden. Was not what we got. Our view was completely blocked with overgrown bushes. There was no view from the garden. Only from the kitchen window The cottage is between packed tight between other cottages of residence. Walls are paper thin and can hear everything. The neighbours don't seem to be very happy about having a b&b property next to them. Also my young children were trying to sleep . One of the neighbours had friends with a dog . Which resulted with the dog being locked in the car for hours barking. This car was parked right out side the window. As the car park is right when the bedrooms are. At 9pm I had to go to the neighbours door about it. If things could not get any worse the t.v would not work either a smart t.v that kept buffering. Would not allow you to log into netflix . I ended up having to use my you tube on my phone and cast it to the t.v . Sounds not so bad however with you tube it's constant adds. On a rainy day a 2 and 6yr old want to watch their programmes. By this point we were all so fed up. We decided to leave a day early. The whole thing was really disappointing.
Great location on the outskirts of town
Very comfortable with great views
Perfect location. Easy access to the beach and North Berwick.
Rhodes cottage was like a home from home. it was comfortable, clean and was well equipped.
beautiful location and views of the sea, beach and town from windows and garden. short walk through golf course to beach and town, beautiful views. property spotless! , beds comfortable and bedding immaculate. kitchen has all you need. spacious, well thought out layout and decor. great sized bath and decent shower.
can’t say there anything I didn’t like, a small freezer compartment in fridge may have been an added bonus but with Tesco and Aldi being only 10 mins away was fine. encouraged us to walk and not have food waste. fridge is generous size and having a dishwasher was awesome.
Very comfortable cottage with 2 bedrooms, living room and well equipped kitchen - everything very clean and looking brand new. Nice sea view across 2nd fairway of beautiful Glen golf course. Perfect location for your stay if you plan to play golf nearby. There are many golf courses to chose from.
Everything was as we expected. Cottage is located in very quiet place at the end of North Berwick but still within reasonable 15-20 minute walk to the city center with all good restaurants.
Very well equipped for a family holiday. Just a short walk to the beach. Comfortable and cosy.
Rhodes cottage was extremely clean and well equipped. Beds were comfy and the place has been finished to a high standard. There are great views from the cottage and the beach is a short walk away. There is plenty to see and do in North Berwick. There was a host of games and puzzles for the kids as well. All in all a great stay. Highly recommended.
Everything was first class, location, views, transport to Edinburgh, local train station with free car park. Not forgetting the beauty of North Berwick.
Stay wasn't long enough.
Great location and a well equipped kitchen. The bottle of wine as welcome was a nice touch. The garden would be a great asset in the warmer months.
good location, good amenities, contactable host of issues
shower wasn’t working when we arrived but it got sorted on the first day after contacting host / electrician
Rhodes cottage is in a perfect getaway location. We loved the views, the scenic walk into town, the close proximity to nearby shops etc. The cottage itself was extremely clean and well equipped, very much a home from home. Also, check in/out was so easy and we were welcomed with wine and biscuits...such a nice touch.
We would find it extremely difficult to say what we didn't like as it was a fabulous cottage in a beautiful location. If we needed to be a bit pernickety I think maybe a 2 way adaptor would be good in the living room for the fire, lamp and router to be used at the same time but I mean that's extremely pernickety and just an FYI for the host going forward.
Lovely cottage...amazing views..would recommend here. We wii definitely return again . A great location.
Lovely clean cottage well equipped the view out over the garden was fantastic overlooking the sea what more can you want. The town is a short walk away across lovely sandy beaches. The town is full of coffee shops gift shops and good pubs. Supermarkets are nearby. Will be visiting again. ❤
Nothing
Lovely modern space to spend a few days to unwind and explore North Berwick and the wider area. Looking forward to coming back in the Spring hopefully.
Cosy with everything you need. Beautiful views and beach walk to North Berwick Comfy beds, good amenities in cottage.
Could do with mirrors by electrical sockets and larger bath towels.
Beautiful cottage with gorgeous sea views. Perfect location for beach and town and the rest of the family were staying at tantallon caravan park which was just around the corner.
home away from home
limited parking
Cosy, comfortable, well equipped.
Lovely little holiday cottage with amazing views of the sea from the kitchen window! The cottage is definitely small but perfectly formed and immaculately clean. The lounge and kitchen are in the same room and you need to pop up the table in the lounge when you need to use it so can make the space a little tight. The space was perfect for two adults and a toddler but as others have said it might be a little bit of a squeeze if it was four adults as there isn’t quite enough sofa space for everyone. Lots of games, jigsaw puzzles and books to enjoy which was helpful for us. Also just worth nothing that the double bedroom upstairs is accessed via a very small staircase and the room doesn’t have a door on it. Wasn’t an issue for us at all and it is still private but just worth noting if you are trying to let someone sleep upstairs when you have a little one running around downstairs as we were! Communication with the owner was easy via text and a pre-arrival email.
We loved Rhodes Cottage. The cottage might be a bit small for 4 adults, but as we were away for most of the day, it was ok for us! Pros: parking space in front of the cottage, great communication with the owner, the cottage was very clean, comfy beds, well-equipped kitchen and fabulous location! Great for exploring the local towns as well as Edinburgh (only 30 min by train). Tesco at only 400 metres. FANTASTIC SEA VIEWS!! Cons: no freezer, quite small for 4 adults
Amazing views, well equipped, comfortable, freshly decorated and spotlessly clean.
great cottage with fab views very comfortable ve
nothing
Amazing cottage. Very well equipped with all new fixtures and fittings. Amazing views. A short walk to the beach. Practically perfect in every way. Will definitely return.
All the things you want in a holiday rental. Immaculately presented. Plenty of space for a couple/small family for a holiday. Close enough to local amenities in a quiet residential area, overlooking a small golf course with views out to sea. North Berwick has a direct train line to Edinburgh which runs hourly by day.
The property is small but perfectly formed. No complaints.
Location was excellent and quiet, parking right outside, easy instructions were left by the owner for everything
Just mind your head in the loft bedroom
AGood views, near coast, near town, perfect for a golf break. Want to come back to walk John muir way
It was perfect
Excellent holiday cottage. Fabulous location- close to the beach and also for accessing other areas of East Lothian. A real home from home. It has everything you would need, and more! Spotlessly clean and probably the most comfortable mattress I’ve slept on away from home! Cute little garden to enjoy too. Excellent communication from Richard throughout. We would definitely recommend and we will return!
Very comfortable beds and spacious rooms (double room had a low ceiling however). There were a lot of games and books to enjoy yourself with. The living /dining area were big enough to host 4 people, and the bathroom was comfortable enough as well. Centre and supermarket is at walking distance and there is a very nice playground for the kids nearby. The back window has a very nice view.
Before arrival we've tried contacting the host via text a few times (as he texted us first) to ask for earlier check-in possibilities, however we never did get any replies from him since. The sofa and dining set were very uncomfortable to sit on. The neighbor's car was constantly parked outside of the property window blocking the light to come in. And from time to time there was also a smell of marijuana inside, most likely coming from one of the neighbors.
Had a great 3 night stay at the cottage - 1 x couple with infant. Property is in great condition, kitchen and bathroom equipped with all mod cons & a homely place to stay, at the same time. Walking into town centre was a real highlight along coastal route, which was no bother to negotiate with pram
location and price
We all enjoyed staying in Richard's cottage because it was cute, cosy and peaceful with all the modern amenities. The cottage had a family feel about it and our children loved the jigsaws, bunk beds and playing in the garden. The cottage is 10 minutes from supermarket for all those things we forgot and a short walk to the beach. Thanks for accommodating the little later departure. Would love to come and stay again. Thank you. Daisy & co
lovely cottage in a great location. very clean, comfortable & well equipped. 5 minutes walk to the beach and 20 minutes walk to central North Berwick so ideal.
it was all great, only very minor point was could be clearer on the info what bits of the garden are ok to use. what we thought was the communal area of garden turned out to be a neighbours area so we were a bit embarrassed but not a big issue.
location excellent with exceptional views and walks from the property. clean and well equipped. information given appropriate and helpful.
Great accommodation perfect location for A golf stay for the glen and North Berwick.
Design, facilities, cleanliness, views and location.
We are elderly and the shower would have benefitted with a grab handle and bath mat. The cottage is well stocked with children’s toys but there are plenty of books for adults. It is a property that is well suited for younger people with families.
Self catering
Stairs difficult for my wife who has 2 hip replacements and older people might find it a problem
Good location, sea view with easy access to beach, park and town. Local supermarket and garage. Walking distance from bus stop and railway station.
Perhaps local info, town map would have been handy .
Nice property, about 20 minutes walk from the town centre, Quiet and peaceful, comfortable, well equipped. Owner kept in contract by text and was welcoming and helpful
Ceiling in the upstairs bedroom is quite low, I bumped my head a few times!
Lovely location, with a beach walk from the door into North Berwick. House had everything we needed for our stay.
Great wee cottage with super facilities very comfortable and full of little extras such as board games and jigsaws lovely selection of books. Bed linen and towels were fabulous and the cottage was very comfortable for us all.
Take care in the bedroom upstairs, we all had a little bumps due to the very restricted headroom, just remember to duck!! The space outside the front door is a little chaotic and some of the neighbouring properties are unkempt.
Lovely Cottage. Very Clean. Small, compact and great value for money. Perfect for a family of 4/5 wanting to explore the local area for a few days. Would use again.
Nothing to report here.
Lovely cottage - clean, cosy and very welcoming. Very comfy beds too! Good communication from the owner beforehand and lots of information in the information pack too.
Some mirrors in the bedrooms would have been useful and also a bin in the bathroom.
Stunning view from the back windows. Beautifully presented, comfortable and cosy cottage. A great location, easy walking distance from North Berwick centre.
Location and views excellent Lovely cottage with excellent facilities as a base to explore Wanted a few days to chill out & ideal for this As walking stuck to local area but would like to come back & explore the coastline of North Berwick & surrounding areas further
Not suitable for tall people in attic bedroom, husband forgot & hit his head, maybe a sign at top of stairs to remind you? Parking can be tricky so decided once parked not to use the car so walked everywhere ( a positive)
It would be nice to have a fire pit that you could light so you could take advantage of sitting in the garden and enjoying the superb views even on a not so nice evening weather wise.
The view of the sea, walking in the area.
Parking is available but in residential area
Such a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Stayed for a long weekend with my son and parents and had a wonderful time. Would wholeheartedly recommend and will definitely be back!
Keys in key safe at front door, straightforward and easy to access. The cottage is really cosy and well equipped - the under-floor heating in the kitchen is a treat for your feet! The views over the Forth are fantastic, and if you are so inclined (literally), have a look out of skylight at the nice clear skies with limited light pollution if you like looking at the stars. Plenty to do in North Berwick and beyond, and a quick hop across the golf course gets you onto the coastal path if you want to walk down into the town. Two large supermarkets close at hand (Tesco and Aldi) if you cannot find what you need in the local shops.
Nothing really. The descriptions of the cottage all match up.
great location and all the amenities we needed.
parking was a little tricky but not too bad.
The property was exactly what we wanted for the four of us. Excellent location. The cottage was very clean and tidy. The kitchen area was very clean and included all the necessary items. One bedroom was large enough for three children and plenty of space. The master bedroom upstairs also had plenty of room and storage space. We will be visiting North Berwick again soon and will hopefully re-book (if it's available). The host was excellent at communication. I would thoroughly recommend this property for a small family.
Our only grip was the master bed was too small. Although we do have a king size bed at home.
very clean and modern
A cosy and comfortable cottage with all the modern facilities you might expect. The place was spotless and the view from the kitchen / garden is tremendous! Very comfortable beds and in short distance of the supermarket and walking distance of North Berwick centre (you can cut across the golf course and walk right along the front). There is no reserved parking but we didn't have an issue. The street is a dead end so very quiet in terms of people and traffic. Lots of books, board games and jigsaws and a smart TV too! Would definitely recommend.
This was the easiest 10 in all categories that we’ve given, from the whole family. So homely, sparkling clean from top to bottom, amazing views and location to take lovely walks. Everything we needed was in the cottage. The kids adored the cupboard of games, books and puzzles and enjoyed sitting in the attic bedroom with ample space to spread out the jigsaws! Easy parking, very quiet and a cosy, comfortable sleep. All instruction pamphlets there to work the amenities and plenty of kitchen goods! Hosts, super helpful, simple process and easy to access and check out
Honestly the first time I can really say nothing! We’ll definitely be back
