Tudor Cottage, Hayle - a Family & Pooch Favourite

Very well equipped chalet and plenty of room for a large family. It was clean and comfortable. Close proximity to St Erth’s park and ride train station where you can catch a 10 min train journey to St Ives. Also short distance drive to the beautiful Hayle beaches, Carbis Bay or St Michael’s Mount. Staff were very friendly too and provide all the information we needed. I’d highly recommend it.

Overall it was an excellent stay. However, if I have to be picky, the house had a strong ‘stale’ smell when we first got in. This was expected this time of the year and low in season. We opened all windows and doors and 30 mins after the smell was gone. I’d expected there would be no smell during the summer months when the accommodation would be used and aired more frequently. Some cupboards had the same smell so I’d suggest opening and airing them too when you first get in. In addition we never worked out how to use the shower upstairs. It kept flipping from being boiling hot to freezing. The shower downstairs is better but has low pressure. Lastly the kitchen has only a small fridge with no freezer compartment. It was ok for us as we were only staying for 3 nights, but if you are staying longer and planning on ordering a food shopping to be delivered there, please keep this in mind. Don’t let any of this put you off. It’s only minor things and it’s still recommend the place.

A comfortable clean cottage nice finishing touches , everything you need , utensils etc would definitely recommend to others . Host very good communicating 😀

Nothing not to like. Not that it affected us being October but the only thing to comment on would be that the outside balcony needed a bit of TLC and patio furniture needs maintenance/replacing.

Absolutely beautiful little house!! Could not have asked for a more cosy, family and dog friendly place. Had everything essential and more, family games and books, DVDs, pens for the kids, beautiful bedrooms with plenty of space and comfortable beds. Will definitely be booking to come back again!

We liked everything about this property! If i had to be picky there was a bit of a strong smell from the under the stairs cupboard but thats it! (I do have an extremely sensitive smell) but keep the door closed and its the perfect place to stay!

This’s probably the best holiday home that we’ve ever stayed at. The 3 beds Victorian style house is incredible, very clean, spacious, smells great and the location is absolutely perfect to travel anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour drive.

Although the tv remote control is not working and the wifi is a bit slow, but everything else is perfect.

Great base to explore Cornwall. Easy access to arterial routes and many places to explore

Cottage was absolutely beautiful, clean and so so comfortable! Really and truly enjoyed our week there!

Absolutely loved it very spacious every thing we thought to bring from home we didn’t need as they had planned for everything. Site staff were friendly shops bars laundrettes entertainment & bingo every night just fab. Main bedroom has a balcony perfect for lovely mornings and warm nights.

Auf der Rückseite waren die Hecken sehr hoch gewachsen und dadurch konnte man nur im 1. Stock die tolle Aussicht genießen. Wahrscheinlich dürfen die Hecken nicht geschnitten werden.

Tudor Cottage living area is nice and spacious and a bonus to have a bathroom and shower room. Beds were comfortable and lovely facilities on-site grandchildren loved the park.

Know it is pooch friendly which was lovely but carpets in property has seen better days Not a lot of walking routes to walk the doggies.

The property had plenty of space and enough rooms for everyone that was staying. It was clean and well kept.

It was very roomy. Good for me pacing to warm my back muscles in the morning. Very quiet too. The kitchen equipment was good. The bedrooms warmed up nicely with the heaters provided.

It was quite chilly weather during some of our stay, and we spent a bit of time trying to warm the (large) downstairs area. The wall heaters there seemed to be on timers so we couldn't get thjem to work, though the same ones upstairs worked very well. Eventually we got it warmed up using the fireplace heater plus an aditional plug in radiator. The shower took a few efforts to get any flow of water, after which it had a very low pressure flow (I assume that was because of the amount of other users at the same time). When we arrived we were all bursting for the loo, but couldn't get in due to the door code being wrong. After a few trips to reception (and use of the loo there), the agent was available to ring and responded immediately with a new code. I found the stairs very steep (and creaky), as I have a muscle stiffness issue, though the stair rails were very sturdy and on either side which was a big help. Baking trays to place ready meal stuff on would have been a help. I did appreciate the coffee maker jug though! I made the mistake of providing my email address instead of my non smartphone number, so didn't receive the final email changing our departure time from 9AM to 10AM, which would have made a huge difference to the amount of sleep the drivers got. However I do appreciate that most people do use a smart phone so this wouldn't be an issue. The phone signal was patchy anyway actually at the house (on my phone). All in all a good stay with no major issues and all the above are minor points.

La pièce de vie au rez de chaussée est spacieuse. Chauffage efficace. 2 toilettes, 1 au rez de chaussée, l'autre à l'étage. La literie est de qualité. La cuisine est bien équipée.

L'une des chambres est vraiment très exiguë pour un lit de 2 personnes. Toutes les ouvertures sont anciennes, l'air passe. Impossible de prendre une douche dans la salle de bain du rez de chaussée car la baignoire ne dispose pas de mitigeur douche. Le propriétaire s'est trompé en nous communiquant le code de la boîte à clé : le code donné était inversé (exemple sans donner le vrai code : code 1205 au lieu de 5021). Heureusement nous avons eu l'idée d'essayer en inversant.

Property was clean and tidy on arrival, keybox is easy to acsess and not at all difficult to find. The place is idealy located for Hayle and was very quiet throughout our stay which was important to us as we were staying there doing a job localy on nights for a nearby store (commercial electricians). Property has plenty of space and a well equiped kitchen area. When we stayed we were a group of 4 guys and we were comfertable throughout. The heating is well setup and theres plenty of ventilation if you open a few windows. Parking is also ideal, plenty of spaces and no height restrictions.

Nothing to mention here thats enough to put anyone off, The WiFi isnt very quick and 4g signal is a little weak but this isnt anything to do with the property or hosts as in general Hayle has slow internet speeds and poor cell coverage. Similar story with water pressure in the shower, again more an issue with Hayle / Cornwall in general rather than the property (We've stayed in 4 diffrent places in Hayle and all of them had poor water pressure).
