Paddock Cottage - Thorpe Arnold, Melton Mowbray

The cottage was gorgeous and had everything you needed. Very comfortable and clean with such stunning surroundings. The views were amazing and the garden room is such a good bonus. We loved it. Large comfy bedroom, dressing area and super bathroom. Highly recommended.

Sometimes you wonder whether the pictures truly reflect the accommodation. Well, the pictures didn’t do the accommodation justice. What a beautifully presented and maintained property. We were in awe as soon as we drove through the gate, warmly welcomed. Stunning property and total home goals for the future. Fantastic stay.

To be honest there was nothing at all we didn’t like it’s amazing.

Tremendous property. Idyllic location but the property is exceptional. Superb fixtures and fittings. Bathroom and log fire all perfect. The surrounding area is immaculate including the garden. Views amazing as well. Honestly not going over the top about this place, it’s a gem of a place.

We had a wonderful stay at this stunning cottage on Mandy and Richard’s farm. The cottage had all the modern comforts including smart TVs with Netflix and there is a huge garden with amazing views. It was quiet, peaceful and perfect for our weekend getaway. Mandy and Richard were great hosts, very friendly and gave us clear directions to the property as well as some good tips for local restaurants. Would fully recommend staying here!

Stunning peaceful location, the property was very tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable with all the little extras that you could want. The views were quite extraordinary. Mandy was delightful and very welcoming and helpful. We have stayed in many similar types of places but this one certainly ranks top of them.

We liked everything

The cottage is set amongst beautiful countryside and it is so peaceful and quiet. It is also perfectly located for a day trip to Ragdale Hall Spa which is only around 15 mins drive away. There are beautiful flowers around the property and you can tell it is so well cared for. Inside the cottage is spotless and everything is really good quality and looks brand new. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making it as comfortable for guests as possible. The rooms are a great size and well equipped with everything we needed. The hosts paid attention to the details such as milk left in the fridge and fresh pastries. Thank you for a great stay!

Paddock Cottage is an absolute delight. Stayed here for a couple of nights whilst on a business trip. The property is beautiful and has everything you could possibly need and more. The finishing touches and attention to detail from owners Mandy and Richard is outstanding. Upon arrival I was greeted by Mandy who was so bubbly, friendly and welcoming. When entering the cottage you can feel the love, care and thought that has gone into it. Hopefully be back some time in the future, thank you

What a wonderful find! Absolutely perfect and with special touches that you don't get in any 5* places we have stopped. Will definitely be back. Richard and Mandy are brilliant hosts.

The cottage was absolutely ideal for us. Perfect location, very quiet ,idyllic. The hosts Mandy and Richard were very kind and friendly. The kitchen was fully equipped and having a washing machine was very useful for us, having returned from a 3 week holiday. Melton Mowbray is only 2 miles away which was handy for shopping etc.

The location and the grounds of the cottage were superb, with a seating area on the deck to the rear of the cottage overlooking rolling countryside, as well as a garden room for cooler times. The cottage had everything we needed: a cosy lounge, beamed bedroom with a very comfortable bed, small dressing area and an immaculate bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped with a tall fridge freezer, enabling us to store the pies we had made (and extras we'd purchased) at a fun pork pie workshop run by Brockleby's Pies in Melton Mowbray. I have to comment on the beautiful tubs and gardens all around the grounds, all planted by Richard, and the very friendly reception and great tips we received from Mandy.

Wonderful place to stay. Really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Everything you need in the way of utensils. The cottage was beautifully furnished to a high standard with quality fittings. There was plenty of room for two people. We really appreciated the treats which greeted us on arrival.

Exceptional property with amazing countryside views. The property has been created with the best quality in mind - bed linen, towels, bed, furniture…. A choice of three smart tv’s and a large Amazon Echo provided great entertainment choices but there was also games, books etc. The garden room was also a lovely extra space. The hosts were also friendly and welcoming and provided Danish pastries and other goodies as well as a well stocked kitchen with herbs, sauces etc.

A better dining area would be nice as the breakfast bar in the kitchen was not ideal for us but may well be perfect for you. We just took the garden bistro set (lightweight) into the garden room & ate our evening meals in there. Everything else….. perfect!

We had such a wonderful weekend staying in Paddock Cottage, it is in a beautiful countryside setting, yet only a few minutes by car into Melton . We were met by the owners , Mandy and Richard upon arrival and they are such a wonderful hosts , so welcoming and lots of recommendations on local area . The grounds are kept beautifully by Richard. The cottage is beautifully furnished and it felt like home from home, in fact we wished we could have stayed longer. We will certainly return . Thank you both for such a lovely stay.

I stayed for 2 night at this amazing cottage with my partner and to say that it was the most beautiful getaway is an understatement. The place was clean and had everything we needed and more! The location is very quiet and peaceful, we literally heard noises! Mandy was so lovely and helpful, she gave prompt answers whenever we needed something and was always happy to help.

A beautiful property, set in a gorgeous scenic location. Paddock Cottage delivered on the romantic stay with a comfy and luxuorius stay. We had a weekend of good food and cosy nights in front of the log fire.

This was the most beautiful place. We didn't want to leave, it was so calming, the view amazing, the surroundings so gorgeous. We couldn't fault a thing. The cottage is so tastefully decorated with really well looked after. Mandy was so friendly and communication quick and easy. No problems with that at all. We are definitely going back and will hopefully stay longer so we can explore the area more. Thank you Mandy, the cottage and your care were amazing.

Wow. Everything about this place was amazing. The added little touches from the sloe gin to make up remover made the stay extra special. The hosts Msndy and Richard were so warm and friendly. We will definitely be going back again soon.

There isn’t anything other to say than just beautiful! I have never stayed in a place and felt so comfortable as soon as I stepped in the door. The photos really don’t do the cottage any justice. I 100% would come back, also Mandy is a great host.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, really spacious and decorated to such an impeccable standard. Really well equipped, we had everything we needed. Comfortable bed with such soft bedding. Lots of blankets downstairs so very cosy. The grounds are gorgeous, we could see wagtails and rabbits just outside. Mandy was so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend staying here.
