Cosy, comfortable, quirky cottage in a fabulous location.
The location and secluded area
🤷🏼♀️
Great location - very cosy - lovely garden for the children to play hide and seek - owner very attentive and couldn't do enough for us
Nothing - all fab
I got in touch with Jason, he made us feel at home straight away. If we needed anything he was there, if you’re looking for an old English cottage with lots of history and quirkiness, this is your place!
A fabulous place to stay. If you enjoy walking, nice pubs/ restaurants, lovely and quiet areas there are plenty of places to visit nearby. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend.
The cozy feel to the house and the view is amazing also very peaceful and relaxing area out of the way perfect for group or family occasions
Firstly, it's a bautiful location, right under stoodley pike with great walks on your doorstep. The house itself could do with some updating to match the competition at this price though, we were slightly underwhelmed on entering due to the foisty porch and half empty jars left in the pantry. Maybe the cleaners had an off day that week. That said, I've had no response to the feedback I'd send the owners so maybe they're happy enough with it this way!
We enjoyed our visit very much

食事は自分達で調達。場所は素敵!
到着までの道は狭く運転が少したいへんでした。
The photos of the cottage don’t do it justice, it’s beautiful and the hosts are easily contactable. Beautiful home and surroundings, highly recommend!
Great place to stay . Right on the edge of the Pennies.Very tranquil .
Gorgeous quirky cottage in a picturesque setting. Cosy and peaceful at the foot of Stoodley Pike and a hop to the Pennine Way for walks galore. Perfect for a family gathering. We’d love to return in the summer!
Beautiful old building, lovely features and views.
Very bumpy track up for an average car.
4 of us stayed here 22/1/24 to 26/1/24 with dogs. Fabulous cottage, lovely homely house, so very comfortable and spacious and very clean. Free WI-FI and parking. Warm house with everything you need for a comfortable quiet stay. Very comfortable sofa and had great sleeps. Very friendly hosts, good communication & instructions. Would definitely recommend and have done and will definitely go again soon. Would love to live there.
We stayed here as a group of 6 adults, a baby and a dog. The house is lovely, so cosy and welcoming. Great location for walks and trips to Hebden Bridge or Todmorden. There was plenty of space for us all, dogs are only allowed downstairs and there is a stair gate to facilitate this. The road leading to the house was frozen over when we arrived and Justin kindly came out to give us a lift up the hill. Great stay and would return.
Our hosts' instructions made finding the cottage easy to navigate from Todmorden. We felt right at home, really comfortable. The cottage was lovely, very welcoming, better than in the photos and it has a well equipped kitchen/diner. Our routine lighting of the log burner made evenings by the fire very cozy but we'd like to revisit in the spring/summer months now to take more advantage of the great outdoor surroundings. Our very friendly hosts were readily available to assist and deal with any queries. There are a couple of neighbours nearby but we didn't hear or see anyone and all in all it's a great quiet location off the beaten track within spitting distance of Stoodley Pike (yet to climb).
Upon arrival there was no welcome pack .Unfortunately on the first night we heard scratching under the floorboards in the lounge which returned on the second night in the lounge and kitchen, this turned out to be a rat which we saw in the kitchen, this was New Year’s Eve.We contacted the host and understandably he was apologetic but couldn’t do anything to help. We informed the host we would be leaving the following morning due to this.-again the host apologised agreeing to get someone in after the holidays, however this had already ruined our break. The host didn’t offer anything of any sorts for the inconvenience, it would have been nice to have been offered something. We are hosts ourselves if any of our guests had to leave early for any reason we would have certainly offered something .To write a review like this was uncomfortable and difficult to do, we had direct conversation with the host who had every opportunity to put this right and didn’t.
Nothing but the location!
The property, to our view was unfit for accommodation. From the first step on to the property it was unwelcoming - the porch lights didn’t work which frankly was dangerous, considering the age of the house, and the amount of steps to navigate in the dark and the slipperiness of the stone path in the damp and wet. There was no house folder or ‘welcome pack’ of any kind to give instructions for the appliances, local area, the property itself or indeed anything such as where to eat, recommendations for visits, emergency contacts etc. There wasn’t event a pint of milk in the fridge, something which in 35 years of using self catering properties, we have never experienced. The fact that a loud and ancient dehumidifier was running day and night in the lounge, right behind the sofa seating area, did nothing to improve the feel of the house. There were no instructions for it and it was only the fact that I am familiar with these in the course of my profession that we knew how to empty it - twice! It is dangerous to leave machinery like this running without imparting some kind of instruction and it made worrying noises which sounded like it could break down at my minute. What would have happened if it had malfunctioned and caught fire? It was not relaxing trying to sit and read or watch tv with the grinding noise of the dehumidifier all the time. Upstairs things did not improve. We completely appreciate the age of the property, we have lived in historic buildings all our lives and are quite used to their quirks. However, mould covered walls and peeling wallpaper do not happen overnight and it is completely unacceptable for a host to think that this is a safe environment in which guests should sleep. Having the heating on full whack does nothing to resolve damp, it only exacerbates mould. None of the bedroom radiators could be adjusted which meant that the rooms were boiling hot lest we turned the heating off, which was set on a timer, again with no user instructions.
Loved pretty much everything about this property it was an amazing unique characteristic place to stay very warm and comfortable and communication with host was great I would highly recommend a stay here we had a fantastic time and loved the property and it’s fantastic furniture wow what a holiday thank you so much, Nicola and family
The shower … looked lovely and was lovely when it worked but it often didn’t or ran out of warm water by the time the fourth person got in lol so had to have a couple of sink washes but it didn’t spoil the holiday at all. Also the road leading up isn’t good at all but I accept you can’t have everything perfect so we just took our time and it was worth the drive up to get to the stunning property
Absolutely loved it xx I went with family for my son's birthday XXX the interior was beautiful the views world class xx Couldn't recommend it more XXX it was like home away from home
It was expensive it cost more than the original price on booking.com but I'd already fallen in love with it
Lovely rural location (ideally you need a car) Beautiful old building and amazing views
Needs updating, especially the bedrooms (painting of the walls is easy to do) and the patio area/garden could do with some TLC. States on booking.com that toilet paper/hand soap is included and we had only 2 rolls and enough soap for overnight for 6 of us. Owner informed us that they only leave enough for the 1st day, so this is definately something that needs changing in the description as it is a 1 hour walk to the nearest shop or a car journey.
Lovely cottage in great location. Lots of nearby walks. We had everything we needed.
An instruction book would be useful, and local area information. The garden was not fully enclosed for dogs and sheep were nearby so we had to keep an eye on them every time we let them out. Dogs not allowed upstairs
Had a great time in this lovely cottage, visited all the places we wanted to...ie RHS Bridgewater, Bluebell Cottage Nursery and Gardens, Holden Clough Nursery at Bolton in Bowland. Wonderful scenery. The cottage had everything we needed and was dog friendly. If we visited this area again, we would definitely stay here.
Our team enjoyed their stay and felt very much at home after working in this location. Would certainly recommend.
everything, location the beautiful house views pet friendly fantastic walks just perfect
nothing
Beautiful setting and scenery with great views. The only downside was the rough unmade road with lots of potholes that made the drive up and back to the property a bit difficult, especially at night.
It was quiet. the Pennine way is directly outside the cottage.
We had to put our dog down 2 weeks before arrival to the property. we had already paid the extra for a dog, but the owners ignored our request for a refund. the bed was very uncomfortable. As it was an old house it was damp and cold. the jacuzzi wasn't working. there was no information about the surrounding area and no instruction regarding the running of the house.
We stayed at Greavfarmhouse during Easter break. Location 10/10 ! Fantastic views, beautiful historical style cottage house. We had an amazing time here lots of long walks and hiking. Hihgly recommend!
fantasic place to say if you want to get away from it all .very peacefull .host was very helpful with any question asked . road a bit bumpy on drive to cottage .
It was lovely and cosy everything you needed very clean and comfortable beds we all enjoyed are stay lovely walks and a nice walk to the pub
Characteristic property with good facilities and a real decorated Christmas tree (we stayed in December)
No major criticism but the kitchen would benefit from and extractor fan above the cooker and slightly more lounge seating if 6 adults as it’s pretty cosy for 5.
The perfect Christmas house! We had a lovely stay over Christmas 2022, the cottage has everything you need, and the host also put up a tree for us!! Great location, near to plenty of cute towns, plenty of shops and pubs, and great walks. Highly recommend staying here!
Lovely house and stunning location. A few niggles when we arrived but sorted quickly and efficiently and didn’t spoil our stay. Highly recommend.
Loved the authentic farmhouse feel. The central heating kept the farm lovely and warm. Fantastic location especially for going on walks.
This is an amazing house with lots of character and incredible stonework. The location was perfect, lovely and secluded. We decided to give 4 stars because we had to go out and buy toilet roll and dishwasher tablets after running out almost immediately. In general, it felt as though we were missing some essentials. This shouldn't put anyone off though as it's a fantastic place to stay!
Wonderful time, lovely place. Would go again!
Booked to stay here as near to family we were visiting. Nicely laid out, lovely building and features. Wonderful views and able to walk out on to the hills from the property.
Not everything was clean in the kitchen, from table mats to cups, oven trays. Bins everywhere on arrival outside and rubbish everywhere. Dogs are welcome but not allowed upstairs, but this is not mentioned in the details. Jacuzzi hot tub / steam shower did not work and a sign up to say this. should have been told prior to booking. Light bulbs missing around the place. Driveway was a dirt track and large holes, postcode takes you to a farm where a farmer says many people get to his farm Instead of the property. Not suitable for low cars. Mould and paper coming off the walls in the bedroom. Beds small and uncomfortable. Need better quality bedding to. Shame to put down negatives but it is disappointing when you travel such a long way!
lovely cosy cottage very quiet with perfect views and great walks...just make sure you take the turning signposted Mankinholes/Top Brink Inn or you may end up on the Penine Way when arriving !!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay..definately recommend.
Good location, at the side of the Pennine Way. Quirky property, with periodic features. No major problems with the house but booked on basis of jacuzzi bath and seems to be the norm it's non working. Heating doesn't work correctly in each room.
lovely cottage with great views, we had a nice family fun weekend. Slightly let down by kitchen not being as equipped as you would expect for 6 people but something very easy to be improved on. also jacuzzi tub didn’t work and was explained as being broken “again” so one to be aware of if that’s what your looking for.
Fabulous location with lovely walks across the hills. Lovely cottage with great facilities and gardens.
Lovely location and lovely host
It's a very nice spacious cottage in a beautiful area. Great for walks and not too far from interesting towns. Very private and quiet.
Sehr schön Aussichten. Küche ist schön groß und räumlich. Sehr große Küchentisch. Betten sind bequem. Sehr große schöne Duschanlage. Ruhiger Lage.
Lovely clean cottage in delightful countryside. Nice big kitchen table to sit at and eat with everyone. Big enough sofa to accommodate us all & lovely comfy clean beds. Visited in the garden by gorgeous deer. A delightful place
Not great water pressure in the shower but it took nothing away from the overall stay.
What a beautiful view! So close to the trail to Studeley Pike. The property had lots of interesting old touches which gives it a lot of character. Great for a few quiet days away.
Lovely house in a remote settings, with beautiful views. Spacious inside, and comfortable. Loved the shower! Gardens were a hit with the kids, and we were all (6 of us) easily able to fit around the kitchen table for meals, as well as relax on the sofa. Great for a rural and relaxing get away.
Stunning Airbnb located amongst absolute stunning scenery. Would definitely book again.
Atmospheric, clean and delightful farmhouse with fabulous views over the Pennines. Very clean with plenty of space and thoughtful furniture in all the rooms. Nice touches from the fountain to the extras in kitchen and hosts very responsive to questions. We were lucky the weather gave us outdoor time though lucky we brought cushions and the outdoor furniture is 'tired'! Definitely recommend.
We stayed here for a walking weekend and it was just perfect. A little home of serenity and peacefulness in the hills of the Pennines. The house was clean and exactly as described, and the area was amazing for the hikes that we were able to do. An amazing getaway, and we would definitely be back again.
the farmhouse was beautiful and the views was breathtaking.
i didn’t like the fact that there wasn’t any coffee bread, others guest houses I’ve stayed in had a welcome food pack. the fire alarm battery had been removed and there was not first aid kit
Fantastic cottage, ludicrously nice location, can’t recommend too highly! Thanks for a lovely stay.
Nice cosy cottage with lots of lovely places to visit nearby. A great place for a few days away in the country.
Sweet cottage in beautiful surroundings. Its very peaceful and private. Thoroughly recommend
Lovely cosy cottage in the perfect, quiet location, tucked away in the hills. Ideal for the dog as could walk right from the door.
The shower is in a jacuzzi bath which meant my mother was unable to use it as she has mobility issues. (I guess I should have realised this from the picture but thought it had opening doors!)
Superbly located near choice of walking routes.
No complaints…..
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage in a wonderful setting. We were warm and comfortable, and really appreciated all the nice little touches. The location was perfect for great country walks and the views were breathtaking. We highly recommend this location.
Lovely quiet property … extremely comfortable. Would definitely come back
Beautiful location. Really characterful property. You could walk straight from the front door and we even had snow for Christmas!
Nothing, we’d come again.
Lovely countryside location ideal for walks.
Old interesting building in a lovely setting, comfortable and clean. Lovely to have use of a wood burner. Great views and lovely garden. Lovely aspects far out way the negatives
Difficult to find-no light outside and need instructions to go past the housing estate and turn right -sat-nav led us into the estate. Despite helpful owner, very frustrating after a long journey. No mirror or heating in one room. Child-sized bath towels. Some strange Bavarian style decor-but only some.
Lovely accommodation with lovely owners. The Pennine Bridle Way is literally just yards above the property and so is perfect for long walks to Hebden Bridge in one direction or a couple of great pubs in the other. On your return the Farmhouse is toasty warm thanks to its very effective central heating. Greave Farm turned out to be a great base for a long weekend break.
Great location and the house had a lovely feel about it,very cosy
An extra toilet would have been good but not really a major issue
Perfect house in a perfect place. Gorgeous views and so close to brilliant walking. Totally recommend
We loved the character of the farmhouse and its little quirky features. We had a very comfortable stay and we loved it's position at the foot of Stoodley Pike. A great base to explore the area and spend time with the family.
Initially it was a bit tricky to find and the unmade road was very bumpy in a normal car. However this wouldn't put us off coming back as it was such a fantastic place.
lovely clean and comfy cottage in a stunning location
Had a lovely stay very relaxing- I am from Yorkshire so it so nice to be on holidays in my own county!
Everything
Nothing
Lovely homely historic farm house.
Not their fault but the weather was awful!
Fantastic views, lovely location. Very private
Within easy access of great walks and Todmorden and Hebden Bridge
We were told to ignore satnav and go into Todmorden which meant we had to retrace our drive through road works. Google maps is fine to use
A perfect location. A beautiful view over the hillside . We will be back
Fantastic Airbnb! Spotlessly clean, great location, and Lu led out with great weather. Definitely recommend for the price! Had a great time.
The views were breathtaking & the cottage was very authentic & cosy. The owners were very friendly & helpful.
The location is stunning because it is on the edge of the village, stones throw away from the many footpaths and so peaceful. The cottage itself is detached, quaint, with lots of room, has fabulous views over the valley, nice outdoor areas to sit and relax, with a pasture adjoining the garden, over the collapsed stone wall, cute. It really has more space than the photos portray, particularly in the kitchen diner, with a good range of crockery and kitchenware. The beds were very comfy and who doesn't love a log burner. We were lucky to have fabulous weather for my birthday weekend too, it would have been a glorious stay anyway.
Nothing significant in fairness was amiss. I would say I shared the twin room and the beds are probably not standard single size however after all the fresh air I slept like a log as they say anyway. I do think specific directions or a map upon booking would help a lot as my satnav , I did pose the question, even from the centre of Todmorden as per site directions , would not take me directly there. Also the coffee machine is a filter style and there is also a cafetiere, which if stated when I asked the host would have answered my question perfectly.
The location of the cottage is fantastic, we really enjoyed the peace and quiet especially the spectacular views which made many of our friends jealous. We loved how the hiking/walking trail up the Stoodley Pike was literally just outside the accommodation. The cottage had a wonderful rustic interior which gave it a unique character. The back garden was very spacious, well maintained and we had complete privacy while we had a BBQ and picnic (with a view!). It was the perfect family getaway!
Very minor thing - the jacuzzi/water features of the shower were not working during our stay
We've stayed in quite a few AirBNBs in and around Hebden Bridge over the years, but this the family's favourite by far. Very cosy (but bring slippers in cold weather -the downstairs floors are cold - and a fantastic location with the walk up to Stoodley Pike starting right outside the door, and deer roaming the fields outside almost every morning. We'll be back.
Lively property in lovely garden. Close to pennine walks.
The road to get to the property is in very poor repair, a number of very large holes which nearly broke the car. Fine if you live in the country and have a Land rover. Not great if you have a normal car which you like. Also the local taxi dtivers refused yo drive up it so not brilliant if you are going to Todmorden for a drink.
The scenery was stunning and lots of space for the dog to run. Lovely clean and rustic.
Maybe extra towels? There was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel each. I think an additional bath sheet per person would be great.
Amazing location for walking and scenery. Very comfortable accommodation. Host Justin was very helpful.
The place was amazing - the house is so remote with the most amazing views! Cool in the summer when it's hot and a great place to stay. We booked the house so our Dad (who lives in Tod) could come and visit us and his Grand kids. We took a hike up the mountain to the pike and it was great fun. Looking forward to staying there again!
The only downside was booking.com got the party size wrong and it was clear from chats with the owners that the booking they had received was for 2 people instead of the family booking we'd made, as such we had fewer towels than required. This would not put me off booking again and i'm likely to do so in the near future!
Fabulous cottage in a lovely location,we loved it .........excellent communication with the owner
Walking trail right out the back!
