Charming Gnome Cottage, in Devon near Sidmouth

Lovely and clean ,beds very comfortable .easy accesible to surrounding towns.

A nice clean, snug and airy cottage with a small sunny calming patio garden with a seating area. We enjoyed our stay with convenient distances to Tipton St John, Ottery St Mary and Sidmouth. We would definitely visit again.

The property was well mentioned, Very peaceful and quiet location. It was well equipped with everything you need.

The cottage had everything you could ever need including board games in the cupboard in the living room. Also there are 2 bikes and helmets for more adventurous souls.

Wonderful stay in such a beautiful cottage. Everything we needed was supplied. It felt really homely yet was stylish with the fantastic high beam ceilngs. Lovely courtyard garden.The bed was lovely and comfortable. We would recommend Gnome Cottage to our friends and family. Hope to go back again.

The bedroom was beautiful and the kitchen as well, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need. In fact, the entire cottage was absolute perfection, including the garden area.

Cosy little cottage on the tucked between Tipton St John & Ottery St Mary with a lovely little entertainment courtyard out the back. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable.

Wi-Fi signal hit and miss. Not a problem for us.

Perfect for a couple with or without a young one for week or weekend retreat, very clean and comfortable. Loved the 4 poster bed and covers, the kitchen had all the gadgets and utensils needed. The fireplace and sofas just added to homely feel. Starlink WiFi (very fancy and quick)

Just watch the driveway, when going in and out. We kept knocking and scraping the bottom of the car, each time we drove in and out (not designed for a Tesla), otherwise nothing to add.

Home from home, fully equipped, clean and comfortable. As in previous reviews Wi-Fi access is a little hit and miss, I struggled but my daughter had good connection for the whole visit!

The cottage was in a quiet location in a small Devonshire hamlet but not too far from the nearest town. About two miles. The cottage was clean and the kitchen was well equipped. A charming feature was the four poster bed in the Master bedroom. The small garden was also well equipped with a BBQ and Garden Furniture. It was surrounded by a high fence which gave us total privacy. I towed a trailer with a Motorcycle on it down to the cottage and there was ample off road parking space for all three. All in all a really enjoyable stay

Although the cottage had a WiFi signal we couldn't get online at all. We tried rebooting the Modem countless times but with little success. We had to drive to Ottery St Mary, the nearest town, and use the free parking allowance of 3 hours in the large Sainsbury store to get a WiFi signal to talk to friends and family

Good standard of accomodation. Would use this cottage again. Wifi and mobile signal in the area is an issue, but some parts of Devon are like that. It was a good opportunity for the kids to not use technology.

The cottage was absolutely PERFECT! Beautifully decorated, home from home, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Cozy and comfortable. Fabulous shower, comfy beds, beautiful kitchen area, outside space sunny all day Location BEAUTIFUL...and no phone signal YES, total relaxation! A very special place ❤️

We really enjoyed our stay at gnome cottage. It was value for money, nice and quiet and it seems everything had been thought of in terms of things you need. It was lovely and clean and you can tell the hosts care about how their guests feel when staying. Our only problem was that we didn’t stay longer! We were there for a wedding nearby so didn’t get to see as much of the area as we would have liked to, and would have loved to stay longer at Gnome Cottage!

Lack of internet… 4G mobile broadband supplied was very poor, added to no signal on our phones I meant we had no internet access most of the time which made it impossible to plan our time

The property was really comfortable and very well equipped and thought out. Everything you could need was available. The games cupboard was a hit with my children, it was nice to see them put their electronics away. Great location, beautiful scenery and peaceful. The garden was great too, especially the relaxing sound of the river running past the cottage. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be back to Gnome Cottage. The hosts are lovely, it was really nice to meet Lorraine and Jim. Huge thank you to you both!

The property was equipped with everything we needed and was clean and tidy. It was perfectly placed for us to visit family in Ottery and Aylesbeare.

unfortunately the internet, which should have been at the property, was not working and although the owner tried to sort it was not fixed during our stay. this is a bit disappointing as we had prearranged to FaceTime during our stay and we were unable to do this.

Stunning little cottage with a cute backyard, big windows, so my nephew was playing outside but we could see him at all times. All the facilities you need. In the middle of beautiful country side , with farm shops just steps away but also a little village with a chain supermarket just 5 minutes drive away.

Only stated one night , me , my mum, sister and my nephew, it was perfect for us. Will definitely go back for a lengthy stay, when travelling to that area area. Hosts easy to communicate and helpful are on site if you need.

Charming Gnome Cottage certainly lives up to its name. Warm, cosy with everything you can possibly need. Cakes and chocolates upon arrival, what a treat. The games, monopoly and chess helped to give us a wonderful couple of days. We spent a fantastic day at the Donkey Sanctuary and a day at the beach. Thank you for a great stay. Highly recommended.

Lovely peaceful clean and comfortable place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place to others, and consider staying again in the future. The only one thing I would suggest is providing curtains in the lounge to make it feel more cozy. The outside area is also lovely and perfect with a glass of wine and the fairy lights.

Lovely warm and cosy self contained cottage set in a quiet location. Beaches only a short drive away and not too far from Exeter and the M5, perfect if you want to go out and about.

The internet was very slow and we had trouble watching TV and using our phone's, games etc. The shower was not particulary powerful and this meant it took longer to wash.

Gnome Cottage was lovely, with a special treat of cream teas and prosecco on arrival. Great place to rest and relax and the owners have thought of everything you'd need for your stay there. We loved it and will definitely stay again

Just perfect. This place had everything that you could want and more. The finish was of a very high standard, Hosts were lovely. Ample parking. Very comfortable. Great TV. Beautiful private outside area. Cream teas waiting on arrival. It was lovely and i will return if they will have me.
