Remarkable 1-Bed Cottage in Arcos de Valdevez

The house is super cozy and relaxing. Location is a bit tricky to get to with a car but it is worth it. There are no close houses to you at all so noise is no problem. Inside of the house is modern and the TV is quite good one. Enough utilities to cook in house. Memory foam bed that is comfortable. A/C in every room to warm or to cool yourself. Clean towels and bath robe. Toilet is clean and shower big enough for 2 people. There is a sensor light for stairs so you don't fall at night. Also there is a little river going from the front of the house that has a relaxing sound when sleeping.

Because the house is in forest, there are some small spiders in the house sometimes, but can be handled with spraying the house a few times.

Casa num local excelente, perfeito para desconectar. Super confortável e com tudo o que é necessário. Apesar de não termos conhecido o anfitrião, este foi sempre muito prestável. Sem duvida um local a revisitar.

A casa está situada no meio da natureza, cercada por uma paisagem serena e com uma vista encantadora para um pequeno riacho. A proximidade com a natureza proporcionou-nos uma paz e tranquilidade incríveis, perfeitas para relaxar e desconectar do ritmo acelerado da cidade. Os vizinhos foram sempre simpáticos e disponíveis, o que nos fez sentir realmente acolhidos. E para quem gosta de animais, este lugar é um verdadeiro paraíso — avistámos várias espécies, o que só tornou a experiência ainda mais autêntica. Ao chegar, fomos recebidos com um gesto caloroso do anfitrião, que deixou vinho e mel local para nós fazendo-nos sentir ainda mais bem-vindos. Além disso, a casa era extremamente confortável e bem equipada, mantendo-se sempre quente graças ao ar condicionado, ideal para as noites mais frescas. Gostámos do sossego e de estar tão perto da natureza! A casa é simplesmente linda. Parece uma casa de bonecas no meio do campo.

Tivemos uma boa receção, encontramos um espaço totalmente equipado para dar todo o conforto, situado no meio da natureza, proporcionou uma estadia inesquecível. Excedeu as expectativas.

Realy nice place, and very beautiful surroundings. Inside the old water-mill is quite moist, and the smell off mold is not to be mistaken. The area is realy peasefull and we loved the stay.

We had a very enjoyable time, apart from some very heavy rain for a couple of days.... Sat nav didn't make it to the end of the road, but we were given the co-ordinates, which helped. It was a lovely, peaceful spot and the watermill was tastefully decorated. We were disappointed that the stream was blocked from flowing under the lounge area, but perhaps when the deluge came, that was a good thing! We loved the gift of honey, wine and nespresso capsules, and Helder was very responsive when we struggled with the induction hob. There was some flooring in the lounge that was lifting and was a bit of a trip hazzard, so we used one of the rugs to cover it up. It was advertised as having a microwave, but there didn't seem to be one. There was a nice walk through the woods, just outside the gate, and lots of interesting places to visit in the National Park.

This stone cottage remodeled from old grist mill is exceptionally charming and very comfortable for a couple. Crossing nearby narrow stone bridge over a small rippling stream is a little exciting. A rural setting makes this visit serene. We prepared simple meals and enjoyed chilled Alvarinho while sitting on very private deck. We ventured 1 hour drive to Monção for tour and tasting at an Alvarinho winery, the wine produced in that region. Highly recommend this visit if you want to escape crowds and relax in Portuguese countryside.

Fantastico para ir en pareja y si buscas un lugar en plena naruraleza para relajarte y desconectar. Personalmente, fuimos con una bebe de un año y no lo pudimos disfrutar al 100% porque las escaleras no son para niños menores de tres años. El anfitrion estuvo pendiente en todo momento

Logement authentique, propre, climatisé et décoré avec goût. Au calme, avec la petite cascade et le petit ruisseau juste sous nos yeux… Propriétaire très sympathique et plein d’attentions.

Difficile d’accès, car petit chemin escarpé de montagne (nous n’avions pas la voiture adaptée), mais le moulin en valait la peine.

La tranquillité. Le bruit de l'eau. La literie. Les équipements en général. La communication avec l hote.

Die hergerichtete Mühle mitten in ruhiger Umgebung und idyllischer Landschaft ermöglicht Erholung und das Abschalten vom Alltag auf eine ganz besondere Art und Weise.

Fijn en rustig gelegen huis. We hebben elke dag een stuk van de mooie Ecovia gelopen, die vlakbij is. Dichtbij leuke authentieke plekken en dorpen en het Nationaal Park. Aangezien de avonden nog wat fris waren om op het fijne balkon te zitten, hebben we gebruik gemaakt van de Netflix mogelijkheid op TV.

This is accommodation in the middle of nature. It has been well set up inside and out for a very peaceful stay. We used the GPS coordinates provided to us. These took us to a point on the road where two other roads intersected. From here you continue down the dirt track to the accommodation. We parked our car on the turn around point before the little bridge. We loved this property and would love to stay here again.

The property is a well thought out conversion of an old mill which is super interesting and fun. It is at the end of a dirt road after a journey through several traditional villages. You are completely in nature and can enjoy silence and the babbling brook. Yet, Arcos is only ten minutes away…host is super helpful with tips on the area.

Die Mühle ist schön restauriert. Wer gerne Abseits vom touristischen Getriebe wohnt, findet hier einen passenden Ort. Die Kommunikation mit Helder Barros war hervorragend. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet. Wir haben uns dort wohl gefühlt.

A beautiful, character mill house in a very quiet, rural location. Unfortunately for us it was too rural for our purposes - daily driving to and from family close by - as the road was not the easiest. We were aware in advance it was unmade but decided on seeing it anyway. The host very understanding and accommodating of our change of mind.

La casa del molino es una auténtica joya, renovada con muchísimo gusto y preparada con el máximo confort. El lugar es, sencillamente, un paraíso. Nuestro hijo de diez años también disfrutó muchísimo de los paseos por los senderos que rodean la casa y los pueblos cercanos. El anfitrión estuvo muy pendiente de atender a cualquier duda que tuviésemos y nos agasajó con unos riquísimos productos locales. Muy recomendable.

Uma casa muito confortável e com todas as comodidades necessárias para desfrutar de uns dias tranquilos no meio da natureza. Localização fantástica. Quarto com uma ótima luz e vistas. Internet excelente. Anfitrião muito prestativo e disponível para resolver qualquer questão.

We had a great time at the Moinho da Varzea. It is a beautiful quiet place in a wonderfull landscape. The house itself has everything you can ask for and is super comfortable. Checking in and out was perfectly simple. Our host Helder was always available for any questions also providing help and information for our stay. All in all an amazing place and we are looking forward to come back! Thanks!

Old restored mill in a beautiful location, surrounded by water streams and chestnut trees. The house has all the expected amenities, with good attention to detail.

A localização é suficientemente remota para sentirmos total privacidade e a casa correspondeu na íntegra à percepção que o anúncio nos deu. O curso de água que passa a poucos metros da casa é um pormenor que valoriza a casa, assim como as ovelhas e cabras que pastam nas proximidades durante as manhãs. Visitámos durante Novembro com alguma chuva e sentimos no piso de baixo um ligeiro cheiro a mofo, que deixámos de notar depois de ligar o ar condicionado, e por isso não perturbou a nossa estadia. O anfitrião, Sr Hélder, foi sempre muito prestável e simpático!

This place is a total gem! Tucked away in a national park, it's eco-friendly and super cozy. The mix of old stone and modern design is spot-on, and chilling on the balcony under the stars with the river sounds is next level. They even hook you up with some local treats—definitely the spot to unwind and get some adventure in.

Beautiful stay in a remote location! If you want a few days to just get away from everything this is the spot for you. Restaurants and grocery store were only 10-15 away and you can easily make the drive to Braga or Geres NP.

This is a beautiful lodge that is isolated from the city but still within 10 minutes driving to the nearest town. It was the last house on the street located on a mountainside with a nice little freestone stream running by it. Everything was clean, functional, modern design and matched the picture/description perfectly. The host was very responsive. There are many things to see and places to visit in the surrounding area. Personally, I chose to go fly fishing for brown trout in the Vez River. The upper part of the river is accompanied by a 20+ mile scenic hike path. I did both in the few days that I spent at this accommodation. I highly recommend staying in this lodge if you are looking to surround yourself with nature and truly relax in isolation. Would come back in the future!

Petit havre de paix en pleine montagne. Ancien moulin à eau réhabilité en une maisonnette décorée avec goût. La région regorge de paysages très ressourçants. L´hôte, Helder était très disponible et soucieux de notre séjour.

El lugar es precioso y la casa también. Decorada con mucho gusto. El anfitrión amable y atento a nuestras necesidades. Si alguien necesita encontrar sosiego y tranquilidad ese es su sitio.

Excellent séjour au calme avec le bruit de l’eau de la petite rivière et les chants des oiseaux. Nous conseillons fortement cet endroit où nous avons passé une semaine reposante et paisible. Le moulin est équipé de la climatisation mais on peut facilement s’en passer vu l’épaisseur des murs en pierre… Merci à notre hôte pour son accueil et sa disponibilité… le miel est extra et nous avons pu en acheter en ville et nous avons découvert un bon vin blanc du coin (verde mais doux). Nous espérons revenir.

Beautiful and peaceful place, perfect as a base for exploring the National Park. It’s about 10 minutes drive outside of Arcos de Valdevez, a few hundred meters away from the main road, so you’re unlikely to encounter anyone apart from some sheep and goats who graze there. The house itself is well equipped and tastefully furnished, with a living/dining room and terrace to sit outside. Great communication from the host as well and there was even a bottle of wine for us when we arrived.

We spent a wonderful relaxing week at Moinho do Varzea. Such a peaceful place, right in the forest, but still accessible from Arco de Valdevez. The place is beautifully decorated. We felt very comfortable. A 5 Star place indeed!

Ich hatte eine wunderbare Zeit in diesem Häuschen und würde es zu hundert Prozent weiterempfehlen. Ein schöner Ort zum verweilen und genießen. Solch eine schöne Unterkunft hatte ich noch nie.

Estancia estupenda! casa que cumple con lo publicado, con todo lo necesario, tranquila y muy limpia. Entorno insuperable. El acceso fue autonomo y tuvimos un pequeño problema ya que la clave no era la correcta, pero Helder estaba disponible y pudo solucionarlo con rapidez. Un tramo del acceso es por pista de tierra y el coche ha de dejarse en un espacio antes del pequeño puente, pero se ve en todo momento desde la casa.

The house is great. It lies at a small river next to a beautiful meadow. In the house you can find a well-equipped kitchen, a very special living room, a nice bedroom and other things. Helder was also a great host, who welcomed us with some hors d'oeuvres and wine. We enjoyed the stay very much.

El lugar es precioso y la casa está decorada con muy buen gusto. Tenía todas las comodidades y unas vistas maravillosas. El anfitrión ha sido muy amable y hemos estado encantados.

Majoitus oli todella upea. Vanha vesimylly oli kunnostettu sen historiaa kunnioittaen kauniiksi asunnoksi. Sen seinustalla sekä edustalla virtasi kirkas ja raikas vuorijoki, jonka veden kuohunta loi rauhoittavan tunnelman. Kokemus oli todella ainutlaatuinen! Kohteesta löytyi kaikki tarpeellinen sekä enemmän. Sisustus oli suunniteltu toimivaksi sekä harmoniseksi kokonaisuudeksi. Lisäksi kohde sijaitsi luonnon rauhassa hieman etäämmällä muusta asutuksesta. Nämä kaikki tekijät saivat meidät viihtymään. Kohteen isäntä oli todella vieraanvarainen. Hän oli laittanut kaiken valmiiksi ennen saapumistamme, tervetuliaisviinejä sekä kynttilöitä myöten. Yhteydenpito hänen kanssa oli muutenki vaivatonta ja lämmintä. Saimme häneltä hyviä suosituksia lähellä olevista palveluista ja nähtävyyksistä. Suosittelemme lämpimästi!

Espaço recuperado com bom gosto e conforto, rodeado de natureza.

Um fim de semana bem passado. Local tranquilo, para descansar e envolvente na natureza 👏. Casa muito acolhedora.

Gostámos muito da decoração. É uma casa muito agradável e onde se consegue descansar. Fomos no inverno e com chuva mas acredito que na primavera e/ou verão deve ser melhor ainda. Quero agradecer ao sr. Hélder pela sua hospitalidade e preocupação em saber se precisávamos de alguma coisa.

Gostámos de tudo. Até do ribeiro que estava cheio e com alguma força.

A casa Moinho da Várzea encontra-se numa zona muito tranquila, com uns pequenos riachos e mini cascata 'privada'... Espetacular!! Fomos no inverno, muito bons isolamentos, quer térmicos, quer sonoros.

Os acessos à casa de terra batida que nos assustaram quando chegámos mas são apenas uns 200m 'menos bons'.

Tudo, da tranquilidade do local, das instalações, do anfitrião.

If you like to be surrounded by nature, but at the same time you want all the comfort and necessities, this is the place for you. We were surprised by many things in this beautiful area, but the property in it self is worth staying in, a very enchanted place to rest. Inside, everything is modern and clean, very well decorated and comfortable. There are plenty of toiletries, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, a fast internet, a smart tv, etc.. The place is incredibly peaceful, the gentle and relaxing sound of the water going through is just icing on the cake. We were traveling with a two year old during the rainy season, but even that did not stop us from enjoying such a pleasant environment in the house. The owner, Mr. Helder is very thoughtful and kind, always willing to aid our needs and advising us on the attractions that the area has to offer. We would like to return in the future, we highly recommend.

Absolutely LOVED this place, and will be back for sure for a longer stay. For nature lovers this is perfect, and located in a place that you can easily explore this beautiful region. The inside is so well done, comfortable, with everything you need + extras... A real treat! And the hospitality was amazing as the place, Hélder is a fantastic host! He was very helpful, gave great recommendations, excellent communication and even had some welcome gifts. Already recommended to my friends.

Ein echter Geheimtipp! Die kleine Mühle liegt sehr idyllisch und ideal für alle die,die Ruhe und Natur suchen.Das Haus liegt abseits einer kleinen Straße direkt neben einem kleinen Bach. Begrüßt wurden wir sogar mit einem kleinen Willkommenspaket. Diese Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen und lädt dazu ein, eine andere Seite Portugals, fernab der Algarve, zu entdecken. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt und noch mehr. Es hat uns an nichts gemangelt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Un endroit juste magique... Si vous recherchez de la nature, du calme, du dépaysement, cet endroit est fait pour vous... Avec la nature que nous offre ce logement, rivière, nuage de papillons au réveil en fin de soirée nuage de libellules. Nous étions une petite famille, un couple avec un bébé de un an et demi et un adulte supplémentaire. Vous pouvez y aller avec vos enfants, ils seront ravis et en auront plein les yeux. Il faut prévoir un peu de temps pour aller faire vos activités car vous êtes vraiment dans la nature mais pour nous cela nous poser pas de problème. Vous pouvez compter aussi sur l'hôte Elder qui prend souvent des nouvelles de vous et qui est très présent si vous avez besoin de quelque choses. Nous avons eu un problème par exemple avec le réseau et la Wi-Fi Elder était présent et a été très professionnel.

Manque juste des rangements dans la cuisine et dans la salle de bains pour étendre nos serviettes quand nous sommes plusieurs...

Nuestras vacaciones por la zona de Arcos de Valdevez han sido estupendas gracias en parte a lo bien que hemos estado en el Molinho y a las recomendaciones y atención de Hélder. Restaurado buen gusto y casi a estrenar es un alojamiento diferente a la mayoría que puedes encontrar, en gran parte por su entorno único y por el encanto del molino con una rueda de piedra real restaurada y funcionando. Cuenta con todas las comodidades para 2 personas e incluso para algún niño utilizando un sofá cama. Esta en un entorno muy tranquilo y natural y a solo 10 minutos de Arcos en coche donde puedes encontrar restaurantes, supermercado y comercio. Ideal para desconectar y relajarte.

L'endroit est merveilleux, la maison est un ancien moulin ,vous vous endormez au ruissellement de l'eau, un paradis pour les amoureux du calme et de la nature.

Nous étions 4 mais le lieu est très bien pour 3 car le canapé lit est un peu juste pour 2 adultes mais parfait pour 2 jeunes enfants.
