Andrew and Teresa are perfect hosts - they know the area well, very responsive, friendly and take their cues from what you need from a host - the perfect balance.

The property is exactly as described, however, what can't be described are the fantastic views over the countryside, the peace and quiet, and the friendliness of everyone we met in the area. Easily one of the best places we've stayed and worthy of all of the 5 star reviews. Great value and a great location, highly recommended.

What a beautiful stay. Stunning views, beautiful cottage, exceptionally clean with all mod cons. Our host Andrew was super helpful and welcoming. We had milk, bread, cheese and wine as well as some logs for the fire left for our first night. So thoughtful and welcome. The cottage is beautiful and super clean. The view and location is stunning. We loved every second of our stay, you will too.

Great stay and was as was presented. Host was attentive to our needs. Slept the four of us well. Cooked in several nights and we had all we needed.

Absolutely loved our stay here. The gîte was actually even better than the pictures showed! Andrew was easy to contact but not intrusive and his recommendations were spot on. Our daughter loved the pool. Highly recommend the market in Eymet. We were here for a wedding so the peace and quiet of the Gîtes location was just what we needed. Had my nails done by a lovely lady in Eymet too. There’s everything you need within a short drive. 
Highly recommend for all those wanting a peaceful break with lovely bars and restaurants just a ten minute drive away.

Lovely gite located in the beautiful country side. Having a plunge pool was a bonus after a long hot ride on the motorbikes!

It would be good to have a map/directions to the nearest refuse bins as these are a little hard to find.

We had a wonderful 12 days at Gite des Barts. The house is in a beautiful, peaceful location. Easy access to surrounding Bastille towns and markets. Andrew was a lovely host - present but never obtrusive, and always available to answer questions or to give recommendations. the Gite itself is very comfortable - it was clean, the beds were comfortable and the living space was great. The splash pool was brilliant for cooling off in, which was very necessary in the persistent 40° weather that we had. We would definitely return.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gite Les Barts this summer.  Andrew was extremely communicative and helped us with recommendations and tips.  The place was spotless and in fact the photos don't do it justice.  We loved the place and would love to come back again.  Great location, not too far from some decent sized towns but in a lovely, peaceful part of the world! Thank you

My friends and I absolutely loved our stay at this air BnB. Andrew was a fantastic host- really responsive and helpful and made our stay that much better. we had a fantastic stay here just outside loubes bernac. the house itself was perfect for relaxing and cooking together and really well located for some beautiful French countryside. This was a really beautifully renovated Gite. We used it as a base whilst attending a retreat at Plum Village and were very happy there. Andrew was a great host. Would definitively stay again. Stunning locality!

Andrew’s property was beautifully presented, with fantastic interiors and log burning stove in a lovely location with great views. Was very comfortable and a great place to explore Duras, Eymet etc. Andrew was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Our small dog coco was made to feel very welcome and liked the surrounding walks. Are definitely planning to return very soon.

We verbleven in de gîte van Teresa en Andrew en het was in één woord fantastisch. Met drie slaapkamers, twee badkamers, nog een apart toilet, een ruim opgezette woonkamer en dito keuken, was er genoeg ruimte voor iedereen en ook de hond had buiten genoeg ruimte om te rennen en spelen. Het contact via WhatsApp en mail was uiterst aangenaam en ook de ontvangst liet niets te wensen over. Ze geven je alle vrijheid, maar mocht je hun aandacht ergens voor nodig hebben, staan ze gelijk voor je klaar. De omgeving is rustig, maar op enkele minuten rijden vind je de bakker en iets verder leuke dorpjes zoals Eymet. In de buurt uiteraard ook mooie golfbanen en wijngaarden waar je de heerlijkste wijnen kan proeven. Deze accommodatie is echt een aanrader voor iedereen die rust en ruimte zoekt, maar niet te ver weg wil zijn van de mogelijkheden om activiteiten te ondernemen. Wij komen volgend jaar zeker terug in de regio en zullen uiteraard deze gîte met liefde weer bezoeken.

Incredible, beautiful, peaceful and welcoming. And this wonderful place is so much more!! Andrew & Theresa are warm and hospitable hosts, who met us upon arrival and shared lovely recommendations of what to do locally! The gîte is perfectly located to explore both the St Emilion wine region, as well as the local bastide-style villages such as Eymet (which is also super dog-friendly)! We absolutely LOVED our stay! The kitchen is better than ours at home, and we love cooking! We enjoyed home cooked meals & bbq’s, while also eating out in the local restaurant in Eymet. On the hottest day, we took a rest day at the pool and enjoyed the sounds of birds and crickets around us! Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer, we will be back for sure!! 😍

Had a lovely week at this beautiful gite. The accommodation was  spacious yet homely with beautiful views. Our son loved the pool in the garden and managed a swim every day even though some days we were slightly unlucky with the weather. The area around the gite has stunning scenery and is very peaceful and relaxing. Andrew the host was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us some great ideas on what to see and do whilst in the area.  We visited nearby French towns , markets and restaurants and there are also some lovely walks in the area. The owners live on site but have definitely got the balance between being helpful and offering privacy. Would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Andrew, il est très réactif lorsque l'on a besoin.

Gite très spacieux et confortable . Il fait bon s’installer dans de généreux canapés, devant un bon feu! Ce gite est très bien agencé et correspond tout  à fait au descriptif. Les proportions du salon sont même beaucoup plus importantes qu’il n y parait sur les photos. La tranquillité est garantie dans ce hameau, et la campagne vallonnée est très jolie . C est un très joli gite , que l on peut réserver en toutes saisons. Accueil sympathique et très bons échanges.

Prior to arrival our hosts Andrew & Teresa were really communicative and answered any queries we had.  
We arrived quite late, it was cold & wet and we were welcomed with a roaring log fire, cheese, bread and wine,  how lovely! 
Our 2 little dogs were also made to feel very welcome.
The gite is beautiful and in a very peaceful and quiet location which suited our needs completely.  That said it is November and a lot of things were closed, there would be more to do and more restaurants etc open at other times of the year.  
The towns of Eymet, Duras, Bergerac and other pretty little places were easily drivable.
Would not hesitate to recommend this little gem of a place and would re-visit in a heartbeat.

Andrew s’est montré accueillant. Nous étions venus pour participer à une fête d’anniversaire située à 5km. Le logement est propre. Il est plutôt équipé dans la cuisine pour une location d’été (où on mange dehors et où on peut se servir du bbq).
Nous étions 6 et la vaisselle proposée était limitée en terme de poêles et grosses casseroles.
Nous avons grandement apprécié l’insert(le poêle) qui a participé à nos soirées conviviales.

Family gite views to die for in a tranquil setting

Endroit calme et  reposant dans un petit village paisible. La maison est très bien décorée et fonctionnelle.

Erg vriendelijke ontvangst. Mooie rustige omgeving. De accomodatie was van alle gemakken voorzien.

Het zoeken van een oplader voor mijn elektrische auto was een uitdaging. Opladers waren er wel in de buurt, maar zorg dat je een geaccepteerde betaalkaart bij je hebt.

Andrew a été un hôte trés attentif à notre bien être, le lieu était très propre et très calme. 
Petite surprise en arrivant : Andrew avait mit au frais du vin, du fromage et nous avait posé sur la table une belle baguette de pain. 
Nous reviendrons chez Andrew, vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

Wow. I cant say enough good things about Gite Les Bartes and our hosts. I was on work travel with a colleague for 10 days. We felt immediately at home. We were welcomed with local wine, cheese and a baguette. 
The space is beautifully designed with everything we needed. It was very clean and well organised. They thought of all of the little touches. 
Andrew and Theresa are warm and friendly; they live on site but had the perfect balance of being available without being intrusive. They helped us out with area recommendations.
We particularly loved having morning coffee and dinner on the patio overlooking the valley. The view is stunning. The property is quiet and lovely. 
It was a wonderful stay and we miss it already. We'll be back for work and fun.

It's easy to take the hospitality and facilities offered by Andrew & Teresa for granted - that is until you follow it with a bad experience elsewhere and realise just how exceptional it really is. From the space to the furnishings, from the cleanliness to the information folder, and from the friendliness to the wine and cheese left out for your arrival - it really is an absolute gem with everything absolutely done with the guests comfort and enjoyment in mind. Very very dog friendly too, which was our main requirement.  Thank you both so much, from Jo, Phil  and Riley.

A must visit !!

Excellent property - great location, extremely quiet with a view for miles.   The Gite now had 3 bedrooms, two upstairs and a new one with own ensuite up half a dozen steps on ground floor, and also accessible from outside.   Well equipped kitchen, nice lounge and two seating areas outside - one East facing with the view, one West facing on a deck round brand new spash pool.    The pool was good for cooling off, even in mid-May!    Hosts live in big house on the same plot, were very helpful but not intrusive and were v discrete.   And a nice welcome basket with wine, bread, cheese, etc....      The Gite was abot half an hour from Bergerac airport and very close to Eymet, Duras, & Montsegur, and the local village Loubes-Bernac 5 mins away has a great little restaurant if you want to stay near to home.

Very relaxing, very comfortable, very quiet ..... we may well be back......

The house was perfect for our needs. It was beautiful, well-cared for and was so calm and peaceful.

We had a wonderful welcome from the owner, Andrew, who even left us some local wine, bread and cheese as a welcome. He continued to be helpful and  to give advice when we asked.  We felt really at home there, even though we only there for a short stay.

This is a lovely gite, in beautiful, peaceful countryside, with very helpful hosts, Andrew and Teresa.  They were there to meet us on arrival, and show us round the gite, with plenty of useful advice on where to visit, and where to eat.  The gite was very well equipped, spacious, and comfortable, with local wine, bread and cheese all left for us to sample as we sat out in the garden that evening.  We would strongly recommend the gite and its beautiful surroundings.  Thank you very much Andrew and Teresa for a wonderful stay.

A very clean combatable stay. All facilities were good and an excellent central location to discover the Dordogne, would definitely stay again.

nous avons passé un excellent moment, gîte très propre et très bien équipé !! Andrew nous a très bien accueilli et a été adorable ! nous avons eu un gros coup de coeur pour cet endroit ! son emplacement, le gîte en lui et l'hospitalité, tout y est regroupé pour passer un très bon moment !

Excellent séjour (semaine avec météo caniculaire), maison toute équipée, très confortable. Le lit king size très agréable. Tout le nécessaire de cuisine. Andrew nous a très bien accueilli avec notamment des petites attentions ( vins et fromages) , et a pu nous conseiller sur les villages aux alentours, conseils que nous avons suivis et que nous n’avons pas regrettés ! 

La maison se trouve dans la propriété de la maison principale d’Andrew mais qui respecte évidemment une certaine intimité. 

Merci à Andrew pour son accueil, ses conseils et sa gentillesse. Si jamais nous devions revenir dans la région l’année prochaine, nous reviendrons évidemment chez Andrew.

This Country home in the rolling hills of the Bordeaux valley exceeded our expectations. Andrew, our host is was beyond welcoming and accommodating. We had bikes sent ahead of time (a must do!!) for our family of four (two sons age 9 and 12) and Andrew arranged to be there for their arrival. We arrived to a fresh baguette, wine, cheese and cookies for the kids and Andrew met us with a thorough explanation of the local markets and sight seeing. 

The property feels private from the main house and has a well stocked kitchen. Your family could easily gather ingredients from a local market and cook a fantastic meal. The furnishings are updated, French country chic. Comfortable and beautiful. Tile and wood floors are cooling in the summer and beautiful original stone walls and wood beams remind you that you are in the old countryside. If you sleep in the master you will wake to a beautiful rising sun through the wood shutters that overlook the valley. The home sits in the countryside of rolling hills of sunflowers, grape vineyards and hay fields. Sunsets are spectacular. Bike riding with the kids was a blast and I enjoyed long runs to explore the nearby towns. Eymet is quaint with pastry shops and beautiful cobblestone roads to stroll and take pictures. There are so many towns here we plan to return to see more.

We were attending a 7 day retreat at Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village Monastery about 2 miles (beautiful bike ride) away. We enjoyed coming back to pristine quiet and some dips in the above ground pool to cool off. It was the prefect place to have a retreat. We could have stayed longer!

I highly recommend this home.We have had many air b and b experiences and this tops the list. We hope to return again next summer! Thank you to our lovely hosts and a dream trip our family will always remember.

An incredible place to stay. It is a perfect spot to relax in and experience life in the beautiful French countryside, using it as a base to to visit local markets, hamlets and rustic towns.
 Andrew was the perfect host. He had a list of local recommendations awaiting us which really helped us experience and explore all of the local gems, all within a short driving distance from the house. The accomodation itself is definitely special, a converted barn where the original wooden feeding trough provides the divide between the kitchen and living area. 
The place was spotless, immaculately clean and had all new modern kitchen conveniences. Wine, bread and cheese awaited us which were lovely hospitable touches. The place was tastefully styled, embracing the old classic style with some modern touches. It was lovely and spacious with wonderful big comfortable couches and a large TV (with satellite channels and Netflix!) if you feel like unwinding after a days sightseeing. There was a small pool outside (another delightful addition!),  bbq area and loungers in the garden....all guaranteed to ensure the stay was relaxing and comfortable. We felt so lucky to have found this place and be able to spend a few days here. It is one of those rare, special finds. A heartfelt thanks, Andrew and Teresa.

lovely gite ...king size bed was comfy.  kitchen excellent.   delightful peaceful surroundings...ten mins or so from Eymet.   the owners recommended a couple of restaurants, the whole town is decorated in garlands....so pretty and glad we went.    lovely hosts ...only just bought it...and they are putting a pool a proper pool in next Summer in which would make this a place we would return to.    to be fair we have already pencilled in next Summer..
