Stunning character 2bed Cottage in St Albans Wifi

The house is situated in a good location, it is decorated in a charming atmosphere. We spent a good time there.

Location and parking good, nearby playground excellent, bedrooms and bathroom fine. We were fairly warned by the owners that the property was small and appreciated good contact and info from them. Would suggest replacing two uncomfortable chairs with one comfortable and cutting down on the plastic plants downstairs would make it more comfortable and spacious feeling for even only 2 guests.

Beautifully decorated and with v well equipped kitchen. Very comfortable double bed in the master bedroom. Nice and clean. Very relaxing and comfortable and the host was very helpful.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. The courtyard garden is v small but was adequate to let our two dogs out into and there is a park opposite.

It was pleasantly warm

It was too small for the 5 of us. The hide-a -bed in the tiny living room took up the whole space. There was an unpleasant smell in the kitchen and it could have been cleaner. The vacuum cleaner was clogged. We had to empty it before we could properly vacuum. I am not a fan of plastic or plastic flowers/plants of which there were many. With less of those, it could have been quite cute.

Great little “home away from home”. Cozy and homely. Short drive to St Albans City station to get to London. Free parking on the road. Would definitely stay there again.

Mattresses were a little flimsy and springy.

Really nicely decorated cottage which was very well equipped. The hosts responded promptly to queries. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a park opposite. We were able to park easily outside on the road.

Door keys need updating as bit stiff and keys broke one day. Host very responsive and helped. Toaster need changing.

A little on the small size but that doesn’t help with having tall partner !!

The place is generally was ok, but dated and not looked after. Location is ok, but we won't be coming back. Welcoming pack was hidden on the shelf so I had to email the host to request some information.

The Free toiletries advertised so I didn't pack any only to find 2 half empty bottles in the cupboard. Fireplace is not what you would expect so should not be used as a feature. The place wasn't clean, some lights were missing, the garden at the front looked as not been used for many weeks, the patio at the back wasn't cleaned in days. Some of the lamps weren't connected.mould and Dust in some places ( under the bed has not been hoovered for a very long time).

A lovely little cottage near St.Albans that had all the amenities for a short stay. There's also a nice green space opposite the cottage for dog walking. The small outdoor area at the back was great for enjoying dinner on a warm evening.

It was nice to have the whole house for our extended stay in England.

The mattresses were a little uncomfortable because of the springs.

Really beautiful renovation, kept very clean we really loved it.

The doors upstairs were very hard to close/ wouldn’t close but I suppose with such an old building it’s to be expected.

Suburban location.

Steep stairway to second floor bedrooms and bathroom should be disclosed. Second floor windows were locked no escape if stairwell blocked.

The decor was a nice cottage vibe and the locals were very friendly

We had a toddler in the group and a tablet was found on one of the bedroom floors. The overall cleanliness was awful there was mould and limescale in the bathroom tap and the floors hadn’t been cleaned. When moving the rug there was dirt and debris all underneath and gave a very unclean feel

Sauberkeit

Unterkunft für mehr als 3 Personen ungeeignet. Sehr klein. Nur 3Betten vorhanden. Rest Hilfsmittel (Sofa,Boden)Kein Geschirrspüler,Heizung sehr sparsam-Thermostat mit Eigentümersperre, im März haben wir gefroren, Heizung heizt für ca.20Minuten jede 4-5 Stunden. Lage schlecht weit weg vom Stadtzentrum. War aber sehr sauber. Vorsicht Deckenhöhe niedrig. Bin 191 cm hoch und hatte immer Probleme.

The cottage is small but adequate for 2 or 3 people. The lounge only has one two seater sofa. Decor is nice, a bit quirky. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cooking implements. Nice dining area and table. Don’t expect any food or condiments in the cupboards, bring your own. The bath is a little tight to get into because of the sloping roof. The TV was WiFi only, which we struggled with initially.

Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet und hat Charme. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet und man kann dort gut sitzen. Zu viert wäre das Haus perfekt. Zu fünft musste eines unserer größeren Kinder im Wohnzimmer auf der Auszieh-Couch schlafen, was aber auch okay war.

Man braucht definitiv ein Auto, um halbwegs beweglich vor Ort zu sein (einfach mal nach St Albans City zu laufen ist viel zu weit), was kein Problem war, da wir eines hatten. Der Preis war dafür, dass man sich nicht in einem touristischen Hotspot befand, relativ hoch, scheint dort aber normal zu sein.

It’s small but cute and homely

The cottage is in a great location. Close to motorways and a railway station. It is well equipped with everything you would need such as kitchen equipments, iron, microwave, hairdryer, cleaning materials etc. Nice cosy and homely feeling. We stayed at Christmas time and we had Christmas decorations up, which was a lovely touch. Dog friendly and there is a big park and dog walks right opposite the property. We had a great stay.

Totally moderate place to stay outside of St. Albans.

A comfortable base equipped with everything we needed for our stay, that was also well located for a number of attractions in the area.

Problemloser Bezug des Hauses. Die Vermieter waren jederzeit zu erreichen und haben sich bei Rückfragen oder kleinen Problemen kurzfristig gemeldet und geholfen. Die kleine Terassse hinter dem Haus lädt zum draußen sitzen eine (natürlich nicht, wenn es regnet). Für unseren kurzen Aufenthalt hat alles soweit gepasst, sollte man länger dort wohnen wollen, finden sich unten ein paar Hinweise.

Das Haus für 5 Personen auszuschreiben, ist aus unserer Sicht eine Herausforderung, Für bis zu 3 Personen sehr gut, alles darüber hinaus (wir waren zu viert) benötigt eine gewisse Flexibilität und umstellen der Möbel für die Nacht bzw. zum Essen. Dazu kommt die niedrige Deckenhöhe von ca. 2 m im Wohzimmer und der Küche. Viele Ausschmückungsgegenstände sind zwar nett, schränken den Platz aber zusätzlich ein Das Couchbett im Wohzimmer ist nach unserem Komfortempfinden nicht nutzbar, man liegt gefühlt direkt auf den Stahlfedern. Wir haben uns mit der 2. Matraze aus dem Einbettzimmer beholfen.

De host reageerde heel snel en was heel behulpzaam- ze gaf goed advies hoe we het beste Londen konden bezoeken.

Het huisje is wel érg compact - met name de eethoek en de douche…

to volume limited and we couldn't hear. I understand that noise needs to limited but it was too low.

Had lots of character and the staff were super helpful in organising a cot.

10min drive from town - fine if you have a car. Place is on the small side.

A real hidden gem of a cottage. The house is located within 30 seconds walk of mini market, take aways and pub. 5 mins walk to a train station that takes you directly to St.Albans. The house is cosy, furnished for comfort and the kitchen has everything you need for a self catering stay, even down to decent appliances. Wifi is provided and more than capable of streaming. I arrived from London Gatwick, amazed to find a direct train from the airport to St.Albans City. I had luggage, so I got a taxi to the property, but with less luggage a short walk to St.Albans Abbey station and a train to park street would have saved me £15. The host was amazing, responsive and a really easy to deal with, basically a seamless and trouble free stay from start to finish.

Cleaning company could focus on dusting the blinds and ceiling corners, but that’s my pet niggle.

Extremely friendly host, and excellent communication. House was very comfortable, and a nice patio area for my dog, which was so useful. Very clean and tidy. Great walks for my dog too!

Pretty cottage, clean, warm. Nice bedrooms but very snug for 4 adults. Location good for road networks, trains and St Albans. Nice park outlook at front. Enclosed rear small paved garden.

Kitchen needed mugs instead of tiny coffee cups. No egg cups. No bottle opener. Hoover had no suction so didn't work. Shower door off of runner. No terrestrial channels on TV only film channels. Seating in lounge not suitable for 4 adults to be comfortable.

The cottage is a splendid place to stay. It is warm and comfortable and beautifully decorated. The living room is comfortable and you can choose to eat at the kitchen table or outside in the garden.The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need and the bedrooms are comfortable and cosy. In the bathroom you can choose a bath or a shower. The location is great too. The playing field opposite with the nearby woods and lakes makes it the perfect place for a morning walk to see some beautiful views. It is the perfect place for a walk with a dog. For cats there is a cat flap in the kitchen St Alban's city centre can be reached from a bus stop very near. That same bus goes to the train station from where you can catch a train into London.

We would have preferred not to park on the road. However,there was plenty of space.

Clean and cosy! There is a park nearby and quick access to M25 / M1. Definitely will come back.
