The Woodcutters Rest Cabin Sutton Coldfield

Unique, rustic. Log burner, ambient lighting. Very calming. All bespoke handcrafted cabin.

WiFi not appearing to work, not a big deal but mobile data signal was very low in area. I should have asked if it was on etc but in and out busy.

Fantastic.

Lovely stay, beautifully made log cabin. Closed in and spacious for the dog. Met Tim and son who were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. Would come back.

2nd stay at this property, lovely helpful hosts, beautiful location, thank you

GREAT LITTLE QUIRKY CABIN. LOVED OUR STAY. WILL CERTAINLY RETURN.

A lovely place to stay, if we’re in the area again we would book here with no hesitations. The host was friendly and happy to help with any questions. Thank you

Such a beautiful cabin with lovely hosts xx

Very comfortable and only 5 minutes drive to the belfry so ideal for us. Bedrooms comfortable and cosy living area with lots of handmade features.

Lovely cabin and friendly hosts

Amazing place secure parking behind a gate , beautiful place will definitely be going again outdoor kitchen and space is great

Really cosy cabin and excellent if taking pets with 10 acres of woodland to do walkies.. made use of firepit and camp fire and Tim and Alison were super hosts

Not a bad word to say about our stay. Had a great time.

fantastic little place! my son loved the swing and trampoline. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and they even went the extra mile when I asked for balloons and banners for my son's birthday. would love to come back again!

There was a lovely walk for our dogs and a nice big telly for us to watch the world cup football.

The dual carriageway was right outside the gate and very noisy. The hot water cut out part way through my shower so assume the water pressure drops when the main house is using water, leaving us to have a cold shower.

Alison and Tim really made us feel welcome. They were so considerate with our dog as we werent sure how he would react t

Nice clean and comfortable accommodation..very friendly owners checking all ok, great open space at the rear for walking the dogs.

Awesome place to stay.

The owners were delightful. Very accommodating and friendly. Their son was a lovely young man. Their dog Piper was a lovely play pal for our dog Loki the holyhugger.

The cabin is lovely with everything you need. It is well presented, clean and inviting.

They have a lovely 10 acre woodland at the back of the property to explore and a swing. Yes I had a go, it made me feel like a kid again 😁

Our host very kindly offered us to join them for a BBQ. It was a delightful meal.

Fresh eggs for breakfast from the chickens and a coffee in the garden. What more could you ever need.

An absolutely beautiful property and wonderful owners. We would highly recommend to anyone. We will be booking again.

Thank you for your hospitality and making us feel so welcome. It was Loki's first holiday and she had a blast.

Only wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get back to the real world 😊

We found our hosts very welcome, and they went out of their way to ensure we had all we needed.
The property hit the spot for us. It's on our list to revisit.....

Very nice cabin only bad thing is people live on the n the field that is the selling point of the cabin,
Got followed out by a young boy with a dog off leash when I went for a walk. Very weird.
I have a dog that is aggressive to others so I thought we paid for the space but other people a dogs around off lead.

Great overnight stay. Listing doesn’t do the place justice. Cosy cabin with secluded woodland for carefree walks with dogs just outside. Connected with the owners who have been very flexible and helpful before and during our stay. Can’t wait to come back, though undecided if we want to share this gem with the kids or save it for a grown up weekend away.

Lovely place in a great setting. Very nice hosts. Only a short stay but we all enjoyed it. Kids loved it. Fireplace was perfect.

Owners was brilliant, and went over and beyond for our comfort. I never before have stayed in so quirky holiday before, but it was absolutely amazing .

The history that all property is build by owners hands, it has deep character. Its all done with wood, and comfortable and peaceful to stay in. Outdoors kitchen is superb, bbq is perfect, and we even asked for music and got speaker to play it.

I could not recommend enough this holiday, as in start it seemed cold, but once we had log burner running more it got ev

We had a lovely family night stay here, the owners are very friendly and welcoming. the log burner was my favourite, the grounds are lovely and the family were great hosts, my son even made a friend. happily return in summer and make the most of the firepit and BBQ. thank you!

The cabin worked perfectly for our family catch up. Great facilities for outdoor cooking and nice s cozy for this time of the year. A great find!

The cabin itself is pleasant enough, has all the amenities required.

Two of our guests stayed in the bedroom with the bunkbeds, upon returning home (to separate properties), they both became covered in bed bug bites. After discussing with the owners, they were adamant it was not from their property, however the guests live at different properties & had not been with eachother since.
Also, their large dog has free roam of the surrounding areas of the cabin, my wife & I were leaving to attend an event at the NEC arena, the dog jumped up at me covering my clothes in mud, then proceeded to jump into our car and cover our seats in mud, with no apology from the owners.
Upon our arrival, mouldy food was found in the microwave which we had to dispose of.
Although it states Wi-Fi is provided, this only worked for approximately 10 minutes of our 2 night stay.
Finding the property is difficult, there is then a very heavy gate for you to slide across to enter the premises.
It is located next to a very busy dual carriageway, so there is the constant noise of cars flying past throughout the stay.
There was also a strong smell of cannabis on one of the mornings, but the owners were once again adamant this was not caused by themselves.
When addressing all of these issues with the owners, they were very dismissive and unhelpful.

Unhygienic, noisy, bed bugs, no WiFi, would not stay again.

Quite an unusual property very quirky. Nice and warm with a log fire going on arrival. Owners very welcoming too. Found the access a little difficult off the A38 though and the road had a few potholes on entrance.

A nice weekend

Although it was a little difficult to find, the host Alison was really helpful, and directed us over the telephone.

The hosts were absolutely fantastic. They went above and beyond for us and our grandchildren.

An absolute gem! Cosy accommodation, loved the decor and the amazing wood carvings. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

Instant hot water, plenty of logs for wood burners quirky building

Quirky and different

Hosts was great, the fire set up be perfect little thing in the summer

Went on rainy day, all beds was good accept top bunk was a little damp

Beautiful cabin good hosts

Owners were very welcoming chatted away and gave us fresh eggs

The place was so hard to find
Was located next to motorway noise level was loud every night
Showrerroom was not cleaned had to ask for it to be cleaned and when we used shower water ingressed to bathroom floor which made it wood warp and toliet smelly
The cabin bedroom would not close
The cabin main door would not lock from the outside.
I dont normally leave review s but its best people know if they are paying 150 per night for the wooden cabin

It was comfortable beds . Just couldn't sleep for road noise .

Fantastic stay with the kidlets, many DVDS that blew their minds with the special features and little animations of dvd menu. We played boardgames with a warm cosy fire topped of with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Comfortable beds. We had such a great time and highly recommend.

Was expecting the place to be more secluded and private given the photos and description.
However, the cabin itself was lovely, and outdoor amenities are brilliant. Its all self built by the owners and they've done a fantastic job. The beds are comfortable and everything we needed was available. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fantastic opportunity staying here.
locating was fantastic, close to tourist attractions, near to walks offside, ans village close by.
The cabin has access to 10 acres of woods to walk in.
we absolutely loved our stay with the dog.
A fantastic place to stay

A lovely unique and quirky log cabin with great facilities inside and out. It was really well located, close to Drayton Manor where we took our two young boys. Boys loved exploring the field and woods and playing with the owners son. We couldn't fault the hosts who came to greet us and wave us off and were all around lovely people. Highly recommend.

WiFi was a bit temperamental but this didn't bother us as phone signal was good. A little tricky to find the property using the post code so best to put the company name in Google Maps.

Lovely, unique and quirky log cabin

The host were very un helpful with my booking my son broke his collar bone asked to council booking they said no id have to pay a councillation fee very bad with compromise would not book with ppl like that and wouldn't advise anyone else to as if you have real life problems these types of ppl don't want to help just about the money

The cabin was quirky and cute, and exactly the sort of place we look to stay at. The land out back was good for dog walking through the wood. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful, bringing us fresh eggs and happy to chat, offering suggestions for things to do.

Closer than expected to the main road, and the road noise was constant, however the bed was so comfortable I actually had two very good nights sleep.

Perfect little rustic cabin. Great hosts.

What a find. We will book again next year!! Thanks

Love this place. Quirky cabin with great outdoor area and outdoor cooking facilities. This was our 2nd time here and we'll be back again. Also very friendly and helpful hosts Tim and Alison.

Quirky little place, hosts were great and introduced themselves. Would stay again

Can be a little difficult to find but I rang Alison who answered straight away and assisted

Quirky accommodation Hosts welcoming and will definitely stay again

Clean tidy and refreshing
Amazing and helpful hosts

Wonderful

Such a lovely stay in a beautiful cabin. Hosts couldn’t be more friendly and accommodating and helpful. No ask was too much, cabin was cosy free firewood was a bonus and surroundings are lovely.

Super nice people. great farm. easy access.

wifi..... for biz travelers can be a challenge with wifi and then having an iron and ironing board could help also. but they're great people and the place is super chill. i'm sure if i had more time i'd be able to see it more as its really a big farm.

super cool place w/ ez access to sutton coldfield.

The fact that I haven't been able to stop wanting to build a cabin myself haha

The hosts were exceptional, could not of been more welcoming. The facilities they let us use, were so lovely. The host even lit for wood fire in the cabin for us ready, then the fire pit for us to toast marshmallows and sit around. Even helped my husband with out with BBQs. They really could not of been more accommodating. The access to the woodland was so lovely. They let my five month puppy run free on their property. They even brough us some eggs the next day from their hen house. They could not be faulted. So welcoming and the property was so comfortable.

This little build is on their property with lots of character, that the man has built with his own hands. The doors don't quite shut well to the bedrooms and there was a crack in the shower cubicle, the dials on the oven has faded but you really cant complain for the price. It was so comfortable and wonderful

So welcoming and comfortable. Perfect for a short get away.

Rustic lodge
Ambiance
Beds fantastically comfortable
Loved the log fire

Look forward to staying in the summer months

The shower didn't drain well
Would love to see coordinated crockery

Beautifully crafted lodge- built by the owners, a magnificent story

Brilliant place, like being out in the countryside but only 15 mins from Birmingham city- truly awesome place

Quirky, clean and cosy. Only disappointed that wi fi
work as had planned on watching films on fire stick. Really warm, lovely fire. We will be back.

Problem with wi fi owners tried to fix but couldn't.

Fabulous night away. Perfect for a friend's get away.

Friendly host
Comfy beds
A little cold on arrival but soon warmed up

On the hole....lovely stay

Fantastic cabin in a really good location. Booked for a trip to the Snowdome and couldn't have been easier to get there and back. Log burner already on when we arrived and a very friendly welcome. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended - cosy cabin with warm welcome

beautiful lodge with lovely grounds and friendly host.

Lovely cosy cabin! Perfect for out pit stop to Wales!

Wonderful stay! Alison & Tim were really hospitable

Comfortable, quirky, cosy ! The hosts were super welcoming. Outstanding project building work on the land as well as the cabin! Cannot wait to return for the coal fire and early morning walks in the back of the field! Stunning!

Outstanding, warming & super friendly!

The cutest cabin so quirky.
Comfy beds.
Fabulous log burner!!!

We have enjoyed our stay sooo much I can not desribe it. It is a perfect stay out of town in a very unique property. Full on relax, You can enjoy fire place in living room, can do same outside, do barbeque in an outdoor kitchen, bake Your pizza in wood fire oven, go for a walk into the woods and much more. Comfortable 2 bedrooms with superb living room with open kitchen nice clean bathroom, wifi tv's and many more facilities. We were hosted by Tim and his Family and they were more than great. I have not met such a welcoming and kind person like Tim for a long time.
We do highly recommed this place to anyone, either solo, couples, families or small groups.
I will remember this stay forever and will be back for sure! Thank You for looking after us!

Everything was top notch. There were nothing not to like.

Bank holiday family stay

A lovely rustic getaway, with super friendly hosts. Had everything we needed for a night away in a unique setting. Thank you!

Very noisy location but on arrival you could quite clearly see the hardwork that had gone into it, all built by himself, we struggled to lock the door so had to leave out belongings unsecured as we had a party to go to.

Ideally a nice touch would be to leave tea, coffee and a drop of milk for the morning but nothing apart from fried up stale coffee in a tin

Very dusty and lots of cobwebs and old dirt some I can forgive because of the nature of the lodge but dirt absolutely not! Very nice chap though

Wouldn’t reccomend, was swindled.
No check in instructions or clear location given. Ended up driving all the way to the location and rang host several times for us instructions on where the accommodation was located and how to get in. No response for the entire day. Check in was at 4pm, yet was stranded in the vicinity until 9:30pm. Waste of time, waste of fuel, waste of effort, my birthday completely ruined.

Inadequate hosting, poor communication, completely swindled.

This was a great place to stay. A little bit of a quirky place and everything so nicely made to give it uniqueness, like the wooden carvings. The owners were so friendly and responsive to messages, which really made us feel comfortable. The place had everything needed for a stay (linens, towels, washing up things, kitchen utensils and plates, tv, dvd player and selection) which is so thoughtful and helpful. Special touches included the hot tub, log burner inside with everything provided to start a fire, fire pit outside, woodland to explore behind. We would all recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
