Where to start... I knew we were in for a treat when we turned in the drive.
Communication was clear and concise. Everything was very organized - the check-in, the accommodations, the activities- very well done.
When booking our trip, I didn't take in that this was a studio; if I had, I would have probably passed on this gem. As a family of four with two college-aged boys, we usually look for someplace we can spread out a bit. We were comfortable, and it was nice that the boys couldn't separate themselves from us too much, but we were pushing the limits space-wise (although with younger kids, it would be ideal.) However - I am so glad we didn't miss out on this magical place. The setting was a farm with a beach, lamas, cows, and sheep- so much to take in. It didn't matter what we were doing- homework, working online, or even walking to the car - it all felt special.
Elspeth and Andrew were very welcoming, and their enthusiasm for their way of life was contagious and eye-opening. After getting an overview and familiarizing ourselves with the property, we were treated to fresh bread, butter, and milk. While Elspeth had great restaurant recommendations and "must see" points of interest, Andrew contributed historical information and personal/family experiences. It was a joy to watch them work together.
Generally, when we travel, lodging is just someplace to lay our heads after a long day exploring, someplace to get up and out of - but not this time. This time the mind frame was "let's get back to Campview".
That brings me to the Llama Trekking experience... Nothing I can say will do it justice - it was extraordinary. I have not seen my 19-year-old genuinely smile so much since he started university, and there was something about it that just worked for him, for us.
If you have the opportunity - you must try out Campview Farm. I am grateful our family had the experience we did with the Vaughans.
