Warm, cosy, cottage in a great location for exploring Hadrians Wall.

Perhaps a few more pictures on the walls and maybe the hosts could leave more information about WiFi and places to visit nearby.

Excellence service, friendly and efficient staff along with good value accommodation

The accommodation was self contained single apartment with lounge/kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom located next to the Inn. Ordered the evening meal of the general menu. The food was tasty as too were the fresh vegetables. The inn itself was busy for a Tuesday evening, most folks ordered an evening meal. Breakfast was a continental type meal available in the apartment

Had a great stay at the Milecastle Inn. We’re were treated at the pub, and shown to our room. We were sled if we wanted a dinner reservation and we did. The room was such a cute comfortable place with all of the amenities. There were snacks waiting for us. There was also cereal and milk in the room for us to have a small breakfast before we departed. We had no issues with WiFi access. As for the pub and restaurant, this may have stole the show. The staff were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. The drinks were very reasonable, and they had a great selection. Dinner was outstanding, and their Sunday roasts, and pies were to die for. Absolutely stay here if you can, and dine here even if no rooms are available.

Great stay when walking Hadrians Wall.

Clean, adequately equipped, breakfast basket with milk was very welcomed. Great location & attached to a lovely pub for drinks/dinner. On the Hadrian’s wall bus route too. Very helpful staff let us borrow a charger plug as we’d forgotten ours.

Bath plug didn’t fit properly so unable to rake a bath, but the shower was brilliant.

A wonderful spot, great location, terrific food!

What a location! The bus stop is right there to all the hiking points on the Wall, the various Roman archaeology museums, and into Haltwhistle for laundry and supplies. The food at the restaurant was delicious... the pub and restaurant were hopping very evening!!

Just be prepared for sleeping closely with your partner :-) Smallest bed we've slept in for decades, but we were so tired from hiking we slept well!!

The place was perfect for our visit to Hadrians Wall. Easy to access all of the sites. Lovely setting, and right next to the pub so convenient to walk over and get dinner. Afterwards we took a late evening walk across the street down a quiet country road and watched owls hunting in the fields. Magical! The place was super clean and had everything we needed. Plus it was quiet and peaceful, great for resting and recharging for another day of exploring the sites.

Perfect place to stay and explore Roman Northumberland

Comfortable and well furnished, very comfortable bed, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a quick meal and included cereals, milk, ground coffee etc. for breakfast. Good WiFi. Perfectly located for visiting the forts etc on Hadrians wall part of which is visible from the property and about 10 mins walk. The Milecastle Inn next door was very welcoming with excellent food and very friendly staff. We would highly recommend both the accommodation and the Pub.

Would definitely stay again, very comfortable night sleep

Location was beautiful, accommodation really cozy and more space than I expected. Liked the little snack basket. The bar staff were all very friendly and the food lovely.

It would be nice to have more options for breakfasts or information provided as to what is in the area. Bed and floor was a little creaky so was worried I would disturb the neighbours through the night as the walls (particularly the bathroom) not overly sound proof.

Great base for exploring Hadrian's wall

The selfcatering cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, and the owner had left a bottle of milk in the fridge and supplied coffee and tea (ground coffee, too) biscuits and some breakfast cereals to tide over. Very good hearty meals in the inn, and a view over to the milecastle to tempt you to explore the wall.

An overpriced underwhelmed disappointing stay.

Location to Hadrians Wall close by.

Cottage was in need of full refurbishment very dark and drab. Kitchen smoke detecter blocked which was a fire hazard. Ancient electric hob with no useage instructions and dangerous faded dials which resulted in third degree finger burn. Even the First Aid kit had expired 3 years earlier! Kitchen window closely overlooks Pubs smelly rubbish bins. Bathroom radiator temperature control broken and leaking rusty water. Without malice would not recommend this accommodation as felt had an overpriced disappointing stay.

This is one of a number of visits to this property I have made and I intend to visit it again.

The property is within sight of Hadrian's Wall which means it is excellent for walking not only on the wall but in the surrounding area. The premises are very well appointed with cooking etc available although the menu at the adjacent pub is so good that cooking is not necessary apart from the odd cup of tea etc.

Great staff with lovely people and would definitely recommend

1) as a Roman history buff , the location of the property is amazing . There is no where closer to Hadrians wall . It’s basically across the field from milecastle 41 . 2) the pub next door . They serve great food and it has a lovely atmosphere. Great variety of both locals and tourists. 3) the rooms are really comfortable and warm. Lots of nice extras including having the kitchen and a few extras like milk and shortbread .

Nothing at all.

A quiet location close to Hadrians Wall, which serves as a good base to explore from.

The property is a spacious cottage next door to a popular pub. I was only staying one night, but it was well equipped and would suit longer stays. I appreciated the cereal, tea & coffee and snacks that had been left, along with milk in the fridge. A short walk down a lane over the road takes you to a section of Hadrians Wall to explore, and other popular parts of the wall are a couple of miles in either direction. The road isn't too busy, so it was quiet at night.

Not really a comment on the property, but the pub next door was very busy- I'd reserved a table, but even then the service was rather slow. I may have just hit a bad day, and the food was fine when it arrived in any case!

Gute Lage

Awesome - fab location- lovely cottage- lovely staff

fantastic location right on the wall - loads of wonderful walks. The staff were so kind and really took good care of us. The cottage was much bigger than expected. We stayed 2 weeks and it was just brilliant - will definitely be going back.

Not much! A little annoying looking over the bins from the kitchen window. And unfortunately there was a large portaloo cabin in the front as they were refurbishing the loos. It was a bit stinky from time to time. There was also a noisy generator or something outside the bedroom window going all night off and on Would have loved a garden for the dogs - oh and they aren’t allowed in the pub! But honestly the good outweighted the bad.

Great place at a great price in a great location.

Being disabled, parking outside the accommodation was ideal. The accommodation was just the right size, contained a small kitchen that we used. The property was clean, in good working order, nicely decorated, had comfortable furniture. A complimentary basket of food and milk in the fridge was a lovely touch. We would recommend this place and have no reservations about booking this place again.

There is nothing about this place that I could say hand on heart that I disliked. If that doesn't make good feedback then so be it.
