fantastic spot for exploring one of the best sections of Hadrians wall. The pub attached to the airbnb does really good food.
Most recent in a series of times I have stayed at this property which is perfectly located next to Hadrian's Wall. It's a great spot to go walking in either direction along the wall and other numerous local walks, or visit the various local roman sites and digs etc. The adjacent pub is a bonus for excellent food and drink.

Location, access to pub, food, company, sites of interest
Bed squashy Machinery running outside bedroom window connected with pub
Location, well set out, clean, and the pub next door food was lovely, Lovely snacks and milk on arrival.
Bed was a little uncomfortable but that is person choice everyone different.
The location is amazingly central for Hadrian's wall... walking and seeing the museums. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with a lovely welcome box on arrival. There was a deep bath - great for walkers. The car can be parked directly outside the front door.
Having the kitchen facilities was a real bonus and the breakfast box was good. The shower was good too.
The mattress needs replacing and the bedding too. The towels need to be bigger.
Fabulous location. Comfortable.Good facilities.

Nothing - BEST stay so far on our travels!
Perfect for exploring the Roman Wall and pub was excellent
Loved the little kitchen in the apartment, had everything you required. Very comfortable accommodation
Scencery food in milecastle inn
Dirty cupboard under sink . To dark decor very dark
Lovely little place tucked away. Staff very friendly and was nice and clean. Food at the pub was very good too.
One minor thing was the kitchen fan but very minor thing to mention
Small but very clean. Had everything we needed and in a super location. There is a bus service outside the inn that goes to various locations on Hadrians wall.
Perfectly located for walking on Hadrians wall . The AD122 bus, which we used, stops outside the inn and is very convenient for accessing the main sites along the wall. Very comfortable accommodation. Food in the Inn was really good and the staff were excellent so friendly and helpful. We would definitely return
Accommodation was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Staff very friendly and we had a terrific evening meal in the pub. Would definitely recommend.
Contained
Noisy, no food service, arrived and was shown the room, told the pub was open until 10.30, we wrongly assumed we could arrange and order food, but this was only for pre orders and closed at 8.30 (we should have checked)we arrived at 9pm
Location and full apartment with Hadrian Wallâs bus stop just outside.
Nothing
Easy to find and in a great location for visiting Hadrianâs Wall and nearby Roman forts and museum. Very comfortable, clean, quiet accommodation and welcoming staff. Dinner in the adjoining historic inn was excellent and well above standard pub grub.
Nothing.it was very good.
The property is set in a marvellous location - surrounded by stunning countryside. It was clean and very comfortable. Appreciated the milk and snacks left by the owners. Delicious food in the pub (book a table when you book the accommodation).
Nothing
The hosts and place were off the top of the scale but the booking via Travelnest was problematic: no customer service. I would much rather have booked direct with lovely owner or Booking.com
For 2 people it is very spacious. There were many great little touches like milk in fridge and complimentary cereals and chocolate. Beautiful location. Pub next door that served fantastic food. Great friendly staff. Cottage was lovely. Cant wait to go back.
There was nothing i didnt like, there is a noisy unit behind the bedroom which came on and off all the time but once used to it didn't disturb sleep too much.
The accommodation is very close to the Hadrian Wall path and provided a self contained modern apartment (open plan living space and kitchen with adjoining bedroom) adjacent to the pub with the luxury of a hot bath at the end of a long days walk. The pub itself is highly recommended with a good selection of beers and a hearty meal. Mandy the owner provided tea, coffee milk etc. plus a selection of breakfast cereals and snacks for the next day which was unexpected but much appreciated thank you.
The room and location
The breakfast offering. 4 single serving boxes of cereal, 2 packets of crisps and 2 snack bars. This was supposed to be for 2 of us for 3 nights.
Klusa vieta, kaut it kÄ atrodas pie ĆĄosejas. UzĆem viesus jau no 17.gs. Senatnes elpa. Super.

Really comfy bed, immaculately clean and lovely and cosy
Nothing all good
We were visiting Hadrians wall sites and so the location was spot on. Also being bolted on the back of a pub was great and the food was really nice. Amanda was very friendly and the whole process was easy Top marks certainly if you are doing Hadrians wall
Bedroom was very hot. Struggled to get comfortable at night. Couldnât open the back window due to the noise from the pub equipment. However overall very happy with stay
A small cottage, perfectly suitable for us, a retired couple. Very clean with good quality furniture. The Milecastle Inn is a good, friendly pub serving very good food, the sea bass was excellent and lunchtime sandwiches very good! Lovely walking area, with a lovely walk to Haltwhistle on a path through woodland.
Perfect place to stay if you want to explore Hadrian's Wall. Staff are lovely, as is accommodation. Real ale enthusiasts will be very happy with the choice of local brews on offer.
There was nothing not to like!
All good

Kitchen was well stocked.

Lovely stay for visiting the area. Great accommodation. Clean and had everything we needed for the price . Lovely pub and views .
Wanted to visit Hadrians wall and this location was ideal comfortable accommodation with pub next door
We felt that the price was a bit steep as breakfast was just cornflakes
Perfect location staff very friendly
Everything was perfect Maybe could do a breakfast pack in fridge for walkers setting off early
Kroen lÄ ikke langt fra hadrians Wall og man kunne mÊrke historiens vingesus.
De aflyste vores bestilling af mad. Sikkert pga sygdom men det kunne de fortÊlle tidligere end nÄr man stÄr der
This place is exactly what you hope to find at the end of the day after a long hike - an authentic old english pub with great food and drinks. The rooms were much bigger and more comfortable than expected and included a kitchen and living area.
Good location and adjoining pub serving great food, welcome box was a nice touch.
Cleanliness could be better and most importantly the shower was warm at best, but not hot at all. This was also a complaint from others staying next door. Very noisy when adjoining room flushed the toilet or ran the water, generator from.the adjoining pub also made it very difficult to sleep.

Delightful little pub, and the room was just what you need -- plus the bonus of an amazing bath tub which gave me just the hot bath I needed after a long day's walk. Excellent choice for walkers on the Wall Path.
I would recommend this to anyone looking to explore/see visible sections of Hadrian's Wall and learn more about the Roman Occupation. The property proved to be a superb base for day trips, with features of the wall including Sycamore Gap, Vindolanda, Roman Army Museum, Housesteads Fort, The Sill and others being just a very short journey time away. The addition of a separate kitchen and seating area next to the bedroom made it an economical and relaxing choice for a retired couple to stay at, when compared to the cost of a hotel. Mile Castle 42 was visible from the seating area in the room and we felt that Northumberland proved to be genuinely encouraging to visitors.
We liked all of it, including our friendly host and the open countryside that surrounds the property.
It was great that the facilities included both a coffee machine and ground coffee so that we could easily make proper coffee. The welcome basket and milk in the fridge was just what we needed. I loved the rocking armchair.
We had some wifi problems - but understand that is more of a general issue for the area.
Really nice cottage we stayed for 1 night on our way home from a weekend in the lakes. You can see Hadrianâs wall from the living room window itâs that close and it was a lovely little walk out with the dog. The pub next door was really nice and the food was so good! It was a shame that the pub wasnât dog friendly inside but itâs understandable why as it is quite small especially for our big labrador.
Great location for walking as is within sight of Hadrianâs Wall and close to the various local Roman archaeology sites and museums etc. Accommodation just right for one or two people and next to a pub with good food etc. Stayed here on numerous occasions and will be going back again.
Beautiful location, really easy access to Hadrian's Wall and other surrounding towns eg. Haltwhistle, Haydon Bridge, Hexham
Very hands-off hosts that made us feel unwelcome. Nobody around for check-out time or to leave key with.
The staff were soo welcoming and lovely! Beautiful apartment, and beautiful pub with delicious food Couldn't have found a better place Thank you xxx
Lovely place, beautiful surrounds, some gorgeous walks nearby and Hadrian's wall practically across the road. Really friendly hosts and nice pub!
Lovely location Friendly attentive staff Enjoyable meals
Very friendly, welcoming people. Room very clean and cosy as heating had been switched on before we arrived.
A little gem of a cottage in a great location - very close to Hadrianâs Wall. Everything we needed in the cottage and we were very comfortable. Basket of goodies greatly appreciated. So easy to have a good meal at the pub next door.
Nothing.
Lovely cosy apartment everything you needed lovely pub next door plenty of places to walk the dogs

what a great cozy place to stay after walking Hadrianâs Wall. The pub is also very cozy and the staff were very welcomin.
location is great for walkers. cottage is well equipped and a nice size for one or a couple.
phone signal is poor.
A fantastic gem in Hadrians Wall. We had a lovely stay in this cosy cottage and recommend it to anyone who is staying in the area. Don't miss the pub for a great meal!
Perfect hosts, warm and welcoming. I was particularly thankful for their thoughtful, kind gesture to come and meet me as I was walking and still some distance away as it was starting to go dark, and walking along the busy road. Delicious meal in the pub, good home cooked food, traditional options (with a twist), all perfectly cooked. The very comfy bed was welcome and the apartment is as cosy as the advert says I would highly recommend this cosy apartment near Hadrian's Wall. Thank you for a nice stay.
Nothing.
The apartment was more spacious than expected, and the welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk, biscuits, breakfast cereals & pain o chocolates was a lovely touch to make you welcome. The pub was friendly and had a good choice of delicious meals. The location to Hadrian's Wall was spot on.
Nothing, all was just right.
Had a lovely night staying in Hadrianâs wall, the accommodation was lovely and friendly hosts! Would stay again and would recommend this to anyone going up that way.
