Impeccable 1-Bed Apartment in Buxton Town Center

The location is perfect. A quiet neighbourhood and just a short walk into the centre of town. The equipment and facilities were good quality and pretty comprehensive. There is plenty of space and it was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the scullery/extra toilet was useful, especially if you've been hiking. We had our own parking space, which was nice. The TV has a good range of access to streaming services. Overall we were very happy with it. We were given the option of a food welcome pack. We chose the butcher's pack and it was good. Enough for two big breakfasts.

We did have an issue with the hot water on the second day. We had to contact the owner, as the caretaker/neighbour wasn't answering. He did get back to us quite quickly though and we managed to fix it ourselves. Also, we aren't sure the under floor heating was working after the first day. It was noticeable when we arrived, but not thereafter. Maybe it was, because we weren't cold. I only didn't give full marks across the board because of the water problem and the bed being smaller than ours. It was comfortable, but might be cosy if you are on the larger side.

Good size apartment, great location right in the heart of Buxton, had everything we needed, very clean, welcome butcher pack was fab.

Great place to stay in easy walking distance from Buxton's famous Opera House, bars and restaurants. Very clean and well equipped. Convenient private parking space. Would definitely stay here again.

Skylight blind in bedroom worked intermittently. Let in a lot of light. Duvet and pillows poor quality Slept very poorly throughout stay. Parking challenging Took ages to locate oven mains switch Technology overload which was a hinderence rather than a help Front door blind was a real pita, especially with a dog. Heating in bedroom was insufficient (we did have particularly cold weather during our stay), though the living room was fine. Some cushions on the sofa would be appreciated

This is such an amazing little spot. Tucked away in a quiet area, so it’s very peaceful, but still in very easy walking distance to the town. I travelled by train and, even with a suitcase and a dog in tow, the walk from the station to the apartment was less than 15 minutes. The apartment itself is beautiful - clean and comfortable, very modern with excellent facilities - and, in my opinion, very good value for money. I book self-catering accommodation as I like to cook when I’m away, and the kitchen here is perfect for that. There were a couple of small supermarkets within 5 minutes’ walk for buying groceries. Although the apartment is dog-friendly, there was no negative trace of that, it is super clean and well maintained so don’t let the pet-friendly status put you off if you’re not a fan of dogs. During my stay, the temperature range was anywhere between 2-3ºC in the daytime to -5°C overnight, which was a true test of the underfloor heating! The apartment was, however, cosy throughout the stay. The property owner was helpful and communicative, the check-in process was simple and efficient, and the welcome pack on arrival from a local business was delicious and much appreciated after a long journey. It was a lovely place to call home for five nights.

Excellent location, short walk to town centre, very good choice of restaurants in the town. We had a problem with the temp of the water in the shower, scalding hot and not responsive to the control on the unit. We rang the nearby man who looks after the property and he fixed the issue quickly and effectively while we were out.

Really enjoyed our stay. Very attractive and well appointed accommodation, with in easy reach of Buxton centre and lots of places to eat and drink. Great location in the Peak District. A very pleasing break.

I've stayed in Buxton a few times, and this was by far the most spacious, modern, well-appointed and comfortable place we've stayed. It had everything we needed, everything was really up to date and well furnished. When we couldn't work the thermostat our host sorted it for us right away.

The only thing it didn't have was a cheese grater, make sure to bring one!

Fantastic place to stay right in the middle of Buxton. Modern, bright, spacious but also very comfy and cosy too. The butchers breakfast pack providedvwas great and made some delicious breakfasts. Had everything you could need and walkable to lots of restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again

This is a wonderful one storey house with parking space on a small new development tucked into an enclave among much older properties a short walk from the Market Place in Buxton. It has been finished to an an exceptionally high standard with bed linen and towels being of beautiful quality. It has a good range of kitchen utensils and crockery, microwave, double oven, fridge etc so it is possible to create quite complex meals. Both Sainsburys and Morrisons have stores on the Market Place. Our host ensured all information about the house and how to get to it was sent well in advance of our visit. A generous welcome pack of goodies was left which meant we could have hearty breakfasts. The TV had Sky and Netflix. There was someone available a few doors down who offered to help with any problems but it was all fine.

We are normally reluctant to over-rate accommodation, but this is worth some superlatives! The property has quality and style. The furnishings, fittings, equipment and decoration are of the highest standard. It has responsive underfloor heating and a variety of 'smart' features (fairly easy to use). The range of equipment and consumables is also exceptional. The owner thoughtfully provides a welcome food pack. The quiet location is near the Market Place for all the local buses and a medium-sized Sainsbury's. The town centre, Pavilion park and railway station are all well within a kilometre. Definitely the best stay we have had in Buxton.

The courtyard in front of the property opened onto the road and was noisy at times.

The little apartment spotlessly clean, quite and comfortable. The bathroom was very nicely appointed with a very good shower. The bed was very comfy, with good pillows. The apartment had the appearance of being only recently renovated/built. The owner had messaged us before our arrival to offer us complimentary snack welcome pack for our arrival - which was a very nice touch. There was on-site parking available, although it's quite a tight entrance off the street. We didn't use the cooking facilities as were only there two nights, but they looked pretty comprehensive. It's only a short walk to the restaurants & pubs if you want to eat out.

There was a coffee machine with a supply of pods and tea available, but curiously no milk in the fridge. Just a small point, but we arrived a bit late to go investigating the local shops. The blind on the skylight in the bedroom isn't of the black-out variety, so the early morning sun may rudely awake those who are light sensitive and like a sleep-in.

The apartment had everything we required and more. It was clean and the items within (dishwasher, oven, hob, washing machine etc) were all new. The en-suite included a bath and there is a separate toilet. The centre of Buxton is just a walk away downhill.

The property was stylish with all mod cons! Very clean and had everything we could ever need! Amazingly comfy bed, slept like a log! Quality and quantity of the Butchers pack was amazing! Quiet area but very close to town.

Not really a fault as there was a dishwasher, but there was no tea towel provided! We couldn’t dry our pots up before we left! Would have liked to have left the property as immaculate as we had found it.

No info displayed about how to use the technology in the property we found the pamphlets in a cupboard as we were leaving. Plugs not easily accessible in the bedroom for hairdryers etc. had to crawl under the dresser to plug in. Missing little things like coasters for your cups.

Nothing really but I would say if you plan on using the washing machine, do it at an acceptable time because it the spinning cycle makes a lot of noise. You wouldn’t want to disturb the neighbours!

Light, modern, airy apartment, plenty of space for two people, parking space and right in the middle of town. Lots of pubs restaurants and shops within a few minutes walk. Directions were useful to find the property and we gained easy access using the safe key outside although we had also been in touch with the caretaker by text, who lives 3 doors down if needed. Very satisfied with the value for money, especially at half term (for some counties but not Derbyshire at the time).

Nothing not to like. We were only there 2 nights so ate out each night, would imagine that if we had wanted to use the cooking facilities we may have struggled without an instruction leaflet and we had to work out the WiFi by finding the code on the bottom of the router but these are minor quibbles easily overcome.

1 - Underfloor heating never managed to operate (an obvious issue for the property as it’s advertised to take a longtime to heat up, hopefully whoever comes in next week will benefit) so had to revert to fan heaters which wasn’t ideal due to manual operation. 2 - the property and parking space aren’t obvious as they were only ones not numbered. This is only a minor thing but anyone staying will understand. A simple #2 on each would help massively. 3 - no welcome pack 😔 despite a letter saying there would be one.
