Beautiful tranquil location

Very quiet and tranquil, dog friendly. The hosts were very informative. We will definitely be booking again

We didn't realise we couldn't leave the dog alone at all, so we didn't get to enjoy the golf course facility and Spa.

Very disappointing,

Location was lovely

In need of a deep clean. Main door was extremely difficult to use. Dog hairs all over the sofa. Not very clean. Cooking utensils need throwing away. Extractor fan didn’t work. But the worst was there is no door from the bathroom into the bedroom so no privacy at all when using the bathroom. We che led out the next day and went somewhere more suitable.

A very peaceful and serene place to stay. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was refreshing 😊 Not a long commute to York, with some cute villages in close vicinity. The added bonus of the dog being allowed to come with us on a relaxing weekend getaway.

It was a lovely peaceful stay and nothing was too much trouble for the host. Exactly what was needed for a quiet trip away. Dog friendly and surroundings were beautiful.

Beautiful area, really peaceful and quiet. Food at the golf club was really really good. The lodge could of done with a deep clean and maybe a hoover should be provided considering dogs are allowed to stay other than that a pleasant stay in a nice location with a great host who came to speak to us to make sure everything was ok.

We loved our 3 night break here. I cooked on the first night and found that I had all the kitchen utensils that I needed so that was fab. The nearest 'big' supermarket is about 10 miles away but there are other smaller shops near by. York is only 25 mins away and Whitby is only 1.5 hours away. The bed is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in and that's saying something because I have horrific back problems. The shower is nice and powerful, although the cubicle is hard to manoeuvre in and the drainage isn't great & I panicked that the bathroom was going to flood (it didn't!) The cabins overlook a small lake that is home to a family of geese that are lovely to watch. My favourite part about sitting out on the decking was watching the electric blue dragonfly zooming about. Rob, the host is lovely - super friendly and kind. He owns the Golf club and Spa down the road too. We went to the spa on two occasions and had use of the pool, stream room, sauna, jacuzzi & relaxation room.

Lovely place, nice and clean super comfy bed, perfect getaway. however, no door on the Bathoom/toilet, this is en-suite so not private at all, and if the blinds in the bedroom not closed passers by can see you too! - Not good. Spa and golf facilities are not onsite but a car drive away.

We had the best stay at the Woodlands lodges! We stayed in Rowan Lodge and everything was as expected. The space was perfect for the 2 of us and the view from our porch was amazing. It was so peaceful and serene we never wanted to leave. Rob (owner) came round a few times to talk to all the guests and gave us recommendations. We will definitely be back and will be bringing our dog next time too!

The entire stay was wonderful, check-in was simple and came with a nice welcome basket with wine and snacks. The spa that comes with the stay was overall fantastic with a sauna, steam room, aromatherapy room, hot tub, and heated water beds (something I'd never heard of but thoroughly enjoyed). The golf club itself offered delicious food at a much cheaper price than we expected, including a Sunday roast that we could bring back to the cabin. The host, Robert, ensured everything went smoothly with check-in, and it was nice how enthusiastic he was about the spa, even seeing him around the restaurant area of the golf club once or twice. Overall it was a peaceful trip away in a beautiful area and both me and my SO would gladly return!
