It was a great Scottish experience. Lots of ambience. Unfortunately the main floor toilet didn’t work very well and only one of the four ovens kind of worked and the showers didn’t have much pressure, but made due. All in all it was a fantastic experience for our American family .
We had a wonderful stay. It was perfect for our family with small kids. The grounds were great to wonder around in and the rooms were very comfortable. It was fantastic to be surrounded in so much history. It was like living in a little time warp (but with the convenience of a dishwasher;) It was an experience we will remember forever. We’d love to bring the kids back when they’re older too.
The Manor was a fun and unique experience. Our kids loved the look and feel and enjoyed finding the secret passages. It fit our group of 8 and had space to spread out. The area is pretty secluded and had a beautiful garden. We drove into larger cities for activities, food, and groceries. It looks and feels old - adjust accordingly.
A group of friends travelled to the area to attend another friend's wedding, and it was wonderful to be able to spend time together in this gorgeous place. We even talked about making it an annual gathering. Sitting around the fireplace in the evenings talking and playing games was wonderful! The accommodations were amazingly comfortable considering the age of the place. Truly special!
Amazing staying in an old castle. Country setting so not close to town which we knew when we booked. One shower didn’t drain. We were not disappointed to stay just needs a little TLC. Would definitely book again!!! Perfect for a big family stay. Host was very responsive and so kind. If you want a castle setting this is the place to book!!
This bridge was the perfect stay in Scotland. Nice and central between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Falkirk and Stirling are just around the corner.
We had a fantastic stay at Plane castle, this is a fabulous venue for a get together, fully equipped for hosting The middle floor was a little chilly, we couldn’t light a fire as the extractor was broken. Charlie the host was friendly and welcoming. Overall this is a spectacular place and well worth a visit
Great to have the whole place to ourselves..! Kitchen well equipped. It’s an old castle..what’s not to like 🤪😁 And close enough to Edinburgh/ Highlands for a day trip .. Owner (Charlie) very helpful and flexible when we had some travel problems.

What an amazing place to stay! highly recommend
Plane Castle provided an idyllic and memorable location for a very special family gathering. It was perfect for adults and children alike. The setting of the Tower and the Manor House was so entertaining in itself. Charlie was incredibly welcoming and friendly and went to great lengths to make us feel at home. Very warmly recommended! Our host, Charlie, was so welcoming
We all really enjoyed staying at the castle, the only reason it didn’t get 5 starts throughout was the top bedroom in the tower leaked from the ceiling into the room and the beds were camp beds that are very uncomfortable apart from that it was fantastic. Host was great
Very original the grounds are lovely!
The gardens need looking after which would make it fabulous!
We had an amazing time at Plane Castle to live the true Scottish experience in an old Castle. Charlie was very responsive and help us to organize our stay. We will definitely come back !
