A great place to switch off, relax and recharge your batteries!

A very peaceful location where you can completely switch off. The wood burner tub was a lovely way to spend the evening amongst the beautiful trees. A nice trip for 2 people, including mother and daughter .

Lack of bug screens on the windows made it difficult to open the windows.

I would highly recommend punch tree cabins, it truly is a really beautiful peaceful place, surrounded by nature I was in my element listening to the birds and watching the rabbits play on the Beautifuly manicured lawn. even the resident dogs and horses were super friendly. The wood fired tub surrounded by trees with all the beautiful fairy lights was truly magical. Every little detail had been thought out. Joanne The host was one of the friendliest, kindest people I’ve ever met who went out of her way to help me when it was needed. I will certainly be returning with my daughter as soon as possible.

Entschleunigung pur :-)

This was a lovely little spot for a quiet break from the world. Host was very helpful and friendly and taught us everything we needed to know about running the wood fired hot tub. They did a very good job of balancing presence and interaction, being there if we needed anything, with privacy and distance, allowing us a peaceful space to enjoy some time away from it all.

This place is the perfect getaway for a very relaxing peaceful escape. I had a 2 nights stay in the punchtree lodge and the host Jo was so friendly and informative of the facilities and how to get to the lodge and it was a lovely welcome. it is a beautiful location, very at one with nature the surroundings are just magical and is very private. The robes that were provided were a nice touch. The wood burning hot tub and the bbq is easy to use. I enjoyed a cup of tea in the morning sitting on the bench at the front of the lodge watching the deer graze on the trees. Tea, coffee, and sugar is provided which is nice we went a drive and found an Aldi 3 miles away to get some food for the bbq which was really convenient. we also went a lovely walk along the river Clyde on a nature trail as used the fire pit at night while having a drink outside playing cards under the stars. We were very lucky with the weather we had and the sun was shining the full time. Jo has 2 friendly dogs that came to say hello to us and we enjoyed clapping them and giving them a wee biscuit. Jo kept the dogs away when we were doing things such as the bbq. I cannot fault this place with anything I will look forward to returning to this beautiful peaceful place.

Peaceful and secluded stay. The wood burning hot tub is wonderful!

The cabin is in a lovely and relaxing location and our host Jo was very helpful and accommodating. The wood burning hot tub is a revelation! It is very different from the typical modern hot tub, in that the heat is quite different in a less aggressive way, for want of a better term. The grounds were beautiful and afforded us the ability to have a couple of barbecues on the two nights we stayed. There is a barbecue on site, so keep this in mind as the cabin only has a hob and microwave. The wood burning stove kept the cabin warm in the evening and the fire pit outside ensured that we could enjoy sitting outside and enjoying the scenery.

Pretty much nothing! Just note that you do not park directly outside the cabin, so there is a very short walk to get there.

Idyllic location. The cabin is set in stunning, historic grounds. We loved the space, privacy and huge redwood trees. The host, Jo, could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The Hikki hot tub was a unique experience and we enjoyed “forest bathing” on both evenings of our stay at Punch Tree Lodge.

I wish we could have stayed longer. No complaints at all.

Perfect for couples looking to relax!

The lodge itself was lovely and the location was very peaceful. The facilities were excellent and our host Jo was extremely welcoming. It was the perfect getaway for couples looking for something more relaxing, especially given that the Clyde walkway is a stone throw away. The history of the site is also very interesting and other places with rich history, such as Craignethan Castle are within walking distance. Unfortunately it was too cold for us to use the hot tub this time of year however we are very keen to return during the summer and make the most of our stay. 10/10 recommend.

The mornings can be very cold although we did choose to stay in November, so getting the wood burner going as soon as you wake up is essential but you do have access to other forms of heating. Other than that, it was perfect.

It is some way from the nearest restaurant so it is worth taking food with you - there is a hob and microwave and plenty of pans, plates, cutlery, glasses etc. The grounds looked lovely and would be very enjoyable on a warm summer evening- sadly we had torrential rain whilst we were there so we weren’t able to take advantage of them!

What a find! Definitely the place to stay for a tranquil, secluded slice of heaven. Deer and rabbits popped by to say hello as we nestled in beside the Chiminea. The grounds of the house are large and there are areas to explore amongst the giant redwoods. Lovely comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, little hobbit fire (which we didn’t need to use). We ordered food from a local takeout for our dinner and went and collected it. Very good (from Suppers in Carluke). Would love to stay again. Joanne, thanks for your hospitality.

We loved this lodge Very comfortable mini kitchen with mini fridge and nice bar table. Sturdy large bed with firm materass. Bathroom small but more then enough for 1 person to use with soap dispenser. Outside beautiful log burner..and comfy bench.. All you really need for romantic get away. In lodge was available antiseptic gel, disposable glows and tissues .

It's not dislike but stove is very warm when you put firewood In it but it's not enough to keep warmth though the night Lodge becoming very cold in the morning...however blanket is very warm:) And sure its depends on weather condition.

The “Cabin in the clearing” for us, had a wistful history. Overlooking the terraces of a now lost Clydesdale mansion, it was a quirky delight. The little place was stylish, kindly provisioned, clean and a real treat. Loved the 200 year old trees, wildlife, bed, stoves, walks, and hospitality. Convenient, just off the motorway, but a very special start to our Scottish trip, this little place was much more than we expected

We has stayed for the bank holiday weekend and had a wonderful experience at Punch Tree Lodge. Joanne was very welcoming when we arrived, she gave us lots of information regarding local restaurants, walks and sights in the area as well as history regarding the premises in which the Lodge was located. The local area was lovely to explore. The lodge itself was very homely and comfortable with the additional bonus of the indoor fire and an fire outside the property. We would be more than happy to visit Punch Tree Lodge again in the future.

This is a beautiful little log cabin set in lawns and woodland. It is like staying in a fairytale cottage! Lovely little touches, all so quaint and pretty. Nothing was too much trouble for our host, who kept the log-burner burning for us while we went out for a meal. A romantic and cosy place to stay with lovely river walks close by.

We had a wonderful stay, started with a great welcome and little tour with advice where to go that evening. A beautiful walk in the woods and by the river right outside the door. An evening by the fire surrounded by the was utter peace from our urban lives at home.

We absolutely loved our stay at Punch Tree Lodge. Joanne was a great host, communication, direction and check in we’re all seamless. The setting and location are perfect, we enjoyed walking through the woodland and by the river. We would recommend the lodge as a perfect escape from the city.

We were looking for a weekend relaxed stay outside of the city with my wife. We found this cabin and had a good feeling. We were right. It is PERFECT. It had everything we needed for a two night stay, very comfortable bed, hot shower, and it is spotless clean. It is near the host's home but it is completely private. You can even enjoy a drink in the evening outside with a log fire while you hear nothing but the horses in the distance. The area is incredibly beautiful. We walked the Clyde Walkway, a stunning view walk (~1.5h) following the river, until we reached the Clyde Valley Park for a coffee. The photos just don't give justice to the place and the surroundings. I cannot thank Joanne enough for such a wonderful weekend. One of those amazing hosts that would do anything to make your stay perfect. Look no further if you want a romantic time away! It can be confusing to find the private road when you drive there, specially because google maps sends you somewhere else (close, but not there). Joanne will give you plenty of instructions, so read them carefully. To locate the Black Gate entrance to the private road, you can use google street view in Mauldslie Rd to and find the black gate to your LEFT coming immediately AFTER the Garden Center, and set the drive there. That makes it very easy!

I couldn't think of anything, honestly.
