The Holt York-Charming York House with 3 Bedrooms

we liked the cinema room

the layout was slight unusual, and one of the bedrooms didn't have a near by bathroom

The accommodation was very modern and high spec and high tech, which I personally struggled to work but some of our group could so it was fine.

The house has 3 bathrooms and unfortunately the hot water tank kept running out. We were a group of 6 adults and after 4 showers , the hot water ran out. We did contact the host who sent someone out to resolve the problem. However, the same thing happened the following day so we had to wait an hour for the water to heat up. The other issue we had was that we didn't receive the code and full check in details until the day of arrival. Due to their being 6 of us going a different times and from different areas, it got quite stressful and I had to email through booking.com.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home in York. The views are amazing being right on the river, very close to the city centre also. The home is better in person and the photos just don’t do it enough justice! The kitchen space was well equipped with the latest appliances and the rooms were very clean and comfy. We will definitely stay again when we come back to York

This place is a proper party house. Great kitchen and tv room . Only stayed one night so could not make the most of it. Would really benefit from a kettle !!!!!!. Also the mezzanine bedroom has a steep staircase so bear in mind if booking. We would stay again but take a travel kettle.

The cinema room at the ground floor. It’s a big room and cosy for a big group of people watching movie together. The host always responds very fast.

The funny smell at the ground floor bathroom and there’s no toilet seat as well. It’s quite inconvenient to the ladies. The first floor heating seems not working. It’s okay for us because we mainly stay at the cinema room.

Love visiting York at Christmas. It is our special place. Have stayed in York on many occasions and in various accommodation. This tops it all!. The property is an absolute gem and stunning inside. Attention to detail at the property was amazing, and caters for your every need. Spotlessly clean throughout. Making it feel like Christmas with a beautiful tree, decorations and Christmas window etchings. Huge screen and projector in living area with cinema surround sound to chill and watch Christmas movies. Beautiful clean bedrooms with lovely walk in shower. Cannot fault the place. It’s pure class!. Only a ten minute walk into York. Highly recommend. Many thanks to Jen for making our stay run smoothly. Hope to visit again in the near future.

Location, just out of city centre, , handy for walk, bus and taxi. Clean, airey and modern. Spacious and warm Superb kitchen, dining area and well equipped. Beautifully Christmas decorated, but banister decoration prone to damage with location.

Main problem was 2 bedrooms with en suite but third bedrooms toilet/shower was two flights of stairs away and with being wooden floors/steps was noisy to get to especially during night . Didn't like clear view doors on bedrooms, the main sleeping floor had sensor light on landing but was very sensitive and came on with movement in bedroom awakening occupants in both bedrooms., perhaps curtains behind doors might help. No parking available but was advised on this so we're prepared.. A few light bulbs were out and a toilet seat was missing (May have been design?) Because of number of floors/stairs not very friendly if struggle with mobility issues.

Fantastic house quite quirky but very comfortable with lots of space for relaxing. Great quiet location but only 15mins walk to Goodrungate and city centre. Would recommend.

The holt was such a charming and cosy place to stay for a girls weekend in York for Xmas Market season! Some issues with the heating but was sorted promptly with Jen who went above and beyond to help! The cinema room was our favourite as was cosy and we stuck a fake fire on the tv and felt like it was in a Winters Lodge. Perfect little hideaway for a weekend away! Few notes to consider if staying with more than 4 adults: The small toilet/shower room is on ground floor level by cinema room with quite a few stairs in between if some are less able to walk and can be quite dark during the night, lights can be turned on but means waking people up. The second bathroom also has stairs down into it which can get a bit slippery due to the flooring and the other bathroom is part of the en-suite. This didn’t stop our stay but room choices had to be considered for the above reasons as more of a safety feature. Overall the Holt was a lovely little stay for York and will be back again!!!

Everything, beautiful house and interior is amazing, really good location with a short walk been able to get in the town center, already booked to come again next year

Can’t fault it

Stunning contemporary house on river yet close to city centre, loved the style and just wished we had time to use the movie room!!

A quirky house with lots of space!! We enjoyed staying there and it was ideal for walking into town. The hosts were very responsive and lovely. The home is a lovely modern industrial feel. The house is right on a fairly busy road, just after a bend, so is a little bit tricky to cross the road which you have to do so whether walking or parking. Overall a great stay in a uniquely designed home!

The house is excellent and has a real wow factor. Taxi into town only cost £6. I would stay there again.

There is no parking at the property. You have to park up the street if you can find a space. However, I wouldn't let this put you off.

Lovely accommodation with some nice features. Beds comfortable and cinema room great.

There was a lack of good lighting in areas of the house. We were all OK but stairs would be difficult for some.

What an amazing place 😍 so nice to catch up with the girls in a beautiful house. We had lots of space to chill as a group but plenty of space to chill by yourselves. It is truly a beautiful house in a great location! 10 minutes to walk into the centre and it was just perfect! Thank you for making our stay so special 🩷

This house in York is one of a kind. Great amenities and lots of room in easy walking distance of center. Unique house great for a group of singles, younger couples or families with teenage kids. Lots of stairs - so if that is a consideration for you be thoughtful. Would absolutely book again.

Fabulous, modern, tastefully decorated house in a great location. Only 10 mins walk to the city centre. Upscale decor and a very trendy feel and furnished really well.

Bathrooms are not well located to bedrooms. One bedroom has an ensuite. The other two required descending 2 staircases to get to the bathrooms. Won't be an issue for everyone, but was for us.

The host was fab and the house is stunning. A 5 star ⭐ House.

Unique space, was great for our team get together. Large dining room table, perfect for work and board games. Cinema room with a projector for movies. And a wood-fired pizza oven in the yard!

What a stunning place .beautiful scenery, immaculately clean . Easy to get too from the train station , clear instructions to gain access . My aunt loved it , it made her 60th birthday even more special . I’ll be returning .

Beautiful apartment, very spacious and convenient location from centre. Walk in about 15 minutes.

some more wine glasses and champagne flutes to accommodate six people would have been the finishing touch.

Loft bed difficult to get in and out of

The house was a beautiful house with a lovely layout and comfortable beds. The decor was stunning and there were lots of things provided that we didn’t expect - things like tea, coffee, sugar etc.

The downstairs bathroom of the en suite seemed like a drain could have been blocked as the water didn’t drain as it should making the floor very wet.

Fantastic property in a great location 15 minute walk from the centre of York. Hannah the host was great and extremely responsive to any queries. Also a lovely touch leaving a birthday card and biscuits as we had booked to celebrate my mother's birthday. Really enjoyed the huge kitchen space and cinema room.

-Lovely property in a great location -There is plenty of room for a small get-together -Excellent value for money -All together, it was a very enjoyable stay and we all said we'd love to stay again.

-The only small niggle that we had was that both downstairs showers flood (leave your things on the steps so they don't get wet!) And could become a little bit slippy, so be careful.

An absolutely stunning house. The facilities were exceptional. The cinema room was our personal favourite. We were all blown away with how lovely it was. Amazing location! Definitely fulfilled it’s purpose.

I thought the property looked exactly like the pictures, maybe even better due to the natural light. Great recommendations and easy to follow instructions. I thought the property was very clean and we were able to check-in early. Finally, we left a wallet behind at the property, yet it was delivered back the next day with recorded delivery. ***** star all round

Stay was excellent, new modern apartment on multiple floors. The bathrooms were a little tricky as one had an en-suite in the room and the other room had to come into use ours or go down two flights of stairs. Wasn’t a huge issue but worth listing about. It was a brilliant location and very well done inside. Perfect for our weekend in York. We even got a welcome pack when we arrived. Final bedroom was a little tricky to get up with it being on a balcony and low ceiling, other than that was all fantastic. Fantastic downstairs lounge with huge screen to watch movies and relax. Thank you we had a brilliant time.

Outstanding stay! The property is stunning! Very modern look with plenty of space, comfort and facilities. Hosts were great in communication and left us a very helpful booklet for our stay. They also left us some treats as well to welcome us which was such a lovely touch. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and well worth booking. Will def be coming back when we next stay in York again.

Stayed here for Xmas. Great location with just a short walk into the centre. Pet friendly which was a must. The house had everything you would expect in your own home. The cinema room was a bonus. Highly recommended
