Paul is an excellent host. Place might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it says quirky in the title and that’s what you get. If you want a health spa then book one 🤗

Everything , host was especially welcoming , met us on arrival and give us all the info needed
Gorgeous from the outside, good location. Beds were super comfortable and the owner was really helpful.
Not clean at all, there were cobwebs, dust, dead bugs, live bugs. My aunt and uncle had to clean the kitchen and utensils before we could use anything. Parking is a driveway right off the main road, challenging to get in and out of. Owner is an artist and there are very personalised murals painted onto the walls all over the property. There are low doorways, and low hanging lights, small thresholds into rooms which were trip hazards. There were a lot of personal items including clothes, photographs and toiletries left behind by the owner who had moved into a studio in the garden while we stayed in the house. We weren’t aware of this beforehand. I would understand if I had booked through air b&b, however didn’t expect this from booking.com.
This is a great place in Billericay to stay
Chosen for location in town and close to the venues we were attending
We had excellent communication with Paul ahead of our visit and he wanted to meet us on arrival - to show us around. This was wonderful as there were a couple of things that were handy to know. Paul was a great host and was so patient with the children who were with us. They loved chatting with him and sought him out. We had to rebook a week before this stay as our previously booked house had a pipe burst, We were so happy to find this gem last minute. We loved staying in the Georgian Listed house - quirky is a great way to describe it. There was dust but had lots of the windows wide open - unavoidable! Previous homes on the trip may have been less dusty but not nearly as comfortable or roomy. We easily all sat in the Living room and dining room. Awesome location to walk to High Street. I would recommend this house and would love to stay again in the future. Addition: Sorry don't know how to get back to the question about the shower. There was an issue with the shower in the ensuite that Paul worked hard on fixing - however, there was a stand-alone shower as well as a bathtub in the main bathroom, so we were not without a shower.
As others have mentioned - tough to get out of the driveway onto busy street.
Perfect for a large family. Quirky, interesting Georgian house with plenty of space and facilities. Owner excellent with advice and help. Pleasure to stay here.
