Captivating 5-Bed Cottage with private hot tub

Struan Cottage - Great Glen WP We had to shorten our stay due to a number of issues around cleanliness and missing amenities. There was no WiFi, also no indoor fire place - what looked like a fire place was fan / light. When issues were raised, owner responded quickly and accommodated our request. Travelnest was not available, to deal with our complain, but AirBnB was helpful. I would recommend looking up reviews on other platforms for Great Glen Water Park.

It was a wonderful stay there . We enjoyed a lot . Only problem is WiFi that’s not working proper there.

The property was large and could accommodate 8 people in our group. It had spacious rooms, living room, kitchen and a hot tub.

There was no hot water in the two downstairs shower. Even the cold water from the showers had no pressure. The upstairs shower had no pressure and had trickle of either very hot or very cold water. If you are looking for a shower after a day of walking in the hills, it's unlikely to happen in it's current condition. I complained during our stay but the issue was not resolved. I was told the cleaners had checked and the shower had water flow and working fine. Several members from our group tried the shower but were not successful in getting any hot water ! (Use of showers is not unfamiliar to us)! It would have been good for the host to give clear directions for the property including the name of the cottage (Struan ) prior to us arriving. The postcode does not take you to the property. The property had no hand-wash (I would think this is important fir cleanliness purpose). I am not sure if this is a norm for these type of bookings but having paid large sum of money for two nights I expected a simple hand wash, good decent shower and some extra tissue rolls. This property has potential if the above issues can be addressed. Thanks.

Beds and living room space comfortable, hot tub was wonderful.

Discarded clothing from last occupants and hair all over the bathroom floor and used sanitary towel in the bin and mould round the tub in master ensuite. Couldn't get hot water in either of the downstairs showers. Not enough kitchen equipment (baking trays and pans) to cook for 7 people, had to cook food in batches. 2 breakfast bowls and 4 spoons to share between us at breakfast. No teaspoons at all. Solution to leaking kitchen sink appears to be shoving a towel underneath. Smell of of damp where the floor under the sink unit is constantly wet. Reception unmanned, manager didn't pick up or return my call both times I rang for help. No instructions for oven which is full of smoke when in use. The cottage is advertised as having a lake view. It doesn't.

Het was een mooie omgeving met veel wandel mogelijkheden, maar dan is ook alles gezegd over deze lokatie. Woning met veel potentieel.

Men kan met 10 personen slapen in deze woning maar bestek, tassen ... waren maar net genoeg voor 5. Alles was vuil, de vloer plakte, we hebben eerst nog alles moeten afwassen voor alleer we de borden enz. konden gebruiken. Plastieken glazen, afwasbak lekte en was verstopt. Keuken heeft dringend een opknapbeurd nodig. Jacuzzi was er, maar hebben we niet gebruikt aangezien het water er groen uit zag. Sommige bedden waren reeds beslapen, bloed op een hoofdkussen, parfum van de vorige hing nog in de lakens ...

space was amazing, location was great and very accessible for all we wanted to do in highlands. hot tub was working great and all loved it.

showers were really horrible, i switched off temp on hot tub and also ensured no heating is on to get some water pressure - but it was the worse we had on any holiday. we were missing basics like a hand wash - somehow managed to do it with shower gels we had - but it was a basic thing we would not expect to carry bed although very clean and with good bedding and pillows - the actual mattress was on the uncomortable side kitchen sink was in an unclean state. Although kitchen had plenty of dishes/utensils and washing up kit - was missing basics like kitchen foil, which could have made it easier for cooking. 2 single bed room in 1st floor had roof leak after the last day of heavy shower - ruined a bit of soft/cloth luggage as we left it there - again moved it out in morning upon realising. Lastly, kids were playing with some pillows and made a little den in the attic small room - which I was accused or hiding or stealing - not appreciated!

Only good thing about property is Hot Bath tub, That’s it

As mentioned in details, None of the facilities available as listed below: No toiletries No towel No internet No Water at upstairs No kitchen sink working No lake view No mountain view No patio No garden so no garden view No children’s high chair

Locations was very good, hot tub was nice! Everything was clean!

Compare to the price place could benefit a bit of TLC. Also washing machine would be a big benefit.

Very well maintained.

No toiletries in the washroom.
