Poor attitude of owner, lack of hot water and property in need of good clean.
It is in a nice area, albeit it is down a long, narrow lane.
Our stay was disappointing, made worse by the owner's unsatisfactory attitude around problems with the house. There aren’t 6 bathrooms as the advert stated and the entire unit is not wheelchair accessible as claimed. There are stairs without a handrail which are dangerous and unsuitable for the elderly/disabled. There was no hot water for most of our stay, which meant we couldn't shower. The house was cold – the heating wasn’t working at all on arrival. Only after you book, do find out that you can't control the temperature of the heating yourselves at the property. Only the owner can do that remotely. The owner also limits the heating - to only the minimum temperature recommended to prevent illness of healthy people (only 18 degrees) unless you pay more. 18 degrees isn’t a comfortable temperature for most people, let alone the elderly in our group. The house was dusty and didn’t seem to have had a thorough vacuum for some weeks. Multiple lights didn’t work or bulbs were missing. Do take care with any pets. Although you can take pets, the property's grounds are not enclosed. Dogs can easily get on to the adjacent road or into adjacent fields with livestock. We paid extra for the hot tub, but as the owner’s rules stated this could only be used after showering and we had no hot water, this impacted our ability to use it. As a property it has potential but it was let down by it's tired state. It could do with a good clean, a repaint – particularly over stains and maintenance repairs. But it was the disappointing responses from the owner and the lack of hot water that spoilt our holiday.
