Lovely, cosy, clean and homely

We had a wonderful weekend here to celebrate my husbands birthday, the bothy has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. It was lovely and clean, the bed was very comfortable too. The added bonus’s for us was 1- being pet friendly so we could bring along our 2 dogs and 2 - having a hot tub. We will definitely be back to visit again!

Lovely birthday weekend away of relaxation. Soaking in the hot tub made our stay. Excellent location just to chill and relax.

Loved the location, the Bothy itself and all the amenities. For us it was very convenient as we were visiting my sister about 10 miles away.

It was a real shame the internet box chose to break down during our stay as I’d promised my husband we had Wi-Fi. Unfortunately late the last evening we stayed was the only time we could use it. As it is a little off the beaten track this gave us some issues with our phones as we tend to rely on WhatsApp and internet services. However I must stress that this was not the host’s fault who reported it immediately to BT who came out within 4 days.

We loved our last minute staycation here! The hot tub was toasty for our arrival and they accommodated an earlier check in. We felt right at home and the kids had an absolute ball! Can’t wait to return, they loved their souvenirs from Janet❤️

Everything - well, almost! The sofa was very nice and comfy once we managed to get down onto it, it was very low for us '60 somethings'!! Getting back up wasn't a pretty sight either - but, we did have a laugh! Loved the log burner and the hot tub under the stars!

Really enjoyed staying in the well kitted out bothy. The wood fire and hot tub make it particularly cosy for winter months. We were 4 + dog and there was plenty room. Highly recommend

So much attention to detail to make a stay perfect. Didn't use the hot tub thanks to Storm Ashley but felt very safe and cosy inside during the wild weather. Close to Muirkirk which has a well stocked village shop, and on the main road to the nearest town if you need more supplies.

Lovely, cosy little bothy in peaceful surroundings. Clean and well-equipped. Especially enjoyed having our dog come with us to go back and visit the farm where he was born.

This was one of the best places we have been to - a real hidden gem! Absolutely amazing. From the slippers to the full condiments cupboard, couldnt recommend it enough. Will definitely be back

Very rural quiet and peaceful. Lovely high quality interior. Good linens and towels . Plenty cleaning products deo shampoos and body washes to use. Kitchen well stocked pots pans glasses and nice crockery. Condiments sauces and spices to use and tea coffee sugar Hot tub was lovely sitting in the dark under the twinkling stars and the bonus was the dog was allowed too Working farm spoke to the farmer when he was dipping his sheep and his wife Janet could be reached at any time using messaging . Prompt replies and request completed fast ,both very pleasant and helpful 2 days just wasnt enough.

Gorgeous stay in the countryside. We had done 2 weeks camping around the Scottish highlands and it was a beautiful luxurious stop before returning back home.

Location was lovely, easy to find. Super comfortable bed, shower was amazing, sofa was comfortable and WiFi was fantastic for remote working.

We adored our stay at the bothy, everything was just perfect. The kitchen has everything you need, the beds and sofa are super comfy and the location is idillic. We didn’t have time to use the hot tub but it’s a fantastic addition and I’m sure the fire is amazing in the colder months. The decor is modern but homely, it’s an absolute credit to the lovely host. Getting the keys was easy, the host was there if you needed them, we just couldn’t have asked for more. We’re already looking for when we can return!

Janet was a great host. The Bothy was beautiful and peaceful, we loved staying there! Perfect for visiting the surrounding area.

We had a fantastic girls weekend at this property. Great location, lovely home, private, could walk around the field near by. It was clean and tidy, with everything we needed. We had the best time. So relaxing. The place was spotless and so homely. The hot tub was amazing. I feel like the host had thought of everything for a great stay. We had the bonus of getting to feed the lambs, which I must say was a huge highlight to our trip. Host was so amazing and made a young teen very happy letting her feed the lambs morning and night every day we were there! We already are looking at dates for the summer. Highly recommend staying here!

This cottage was just what we needed. The furnishings were very nice and the cottage felt welcoming. Just wished the sofa was a little more comfortable. Saying that, the beds were super comfy.

Great wee cottage with everything you need. From towels/bedding kitchen & bathroom essentials. Very homely and the biggest bonus was being allowed to take your dogs. There are good walks/trails in the area that we enjoyed walking with our dogs. Afterwards we chilled in the Hot-tub which was a great added bonus. We would definitely return & recommend to family and friends.

Stayed for a weekend with friends as we attended a wedding. Janet, the host, was friendly and helpful. The Bothy was immaculate and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this accommodation for a stay in this area.

I loved the way the Bothy was converted from stables to a open plan kitchen, living room with a wood burning stove also two bedrooms bathroom with shower and plenty hot water , and the hot tub brilliant and a walk round the farm reminiscing as I worked there 63 years ago what a change .The hosts Alistair and Janet are a lovely couple.

Very clean and tidy cottage and was perfect for a family of 4. Hot tub was really good and we all enjoyed it. Host was easily contacted and were helpful with any questions we had.

From the moment I contacted Janet about my interest in staying she was very responsive and helpful. This was also the case when we arrived. Really nice touches with the wine and shortbread was very welcome and the hot tub being ready to go as soon as we arrived was great. Place was spotlessly clean and has been renovated to a very high standard . Lots of walk’s available around the area with the dogs and also via the farm lands to the stream a short walk away. Really lovely and private cottage and would definitely recommend.

Super property - it is perfect for a couple or small family to stay in, spotlessly clean, Janet was really helpful ahead of our arrival and the hot tub was partly heated on arrival so we could enjoy quickly. The kitchen is well equipped and there are a few 'essentials' in there including salt, pepper, sauces, washing up liquid etc. Very helpful. Definitely recommend!

The curtains in the bedroom are very thin and so we were awoken early in a very light room.

My partner and I booked the bothy as a last minute mini break for us and our two dogs, and we are so glad we did! The bothy itself is easy to find and decorated to a very high standard, you can feel the care that the owners have put into this place! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and the hot tub is a luxurious bonus 🤗 we would love to come back again!

It was a home away from home, comfortable, modern and unique! The owner could not do enough for you. Lovely touch for it to be on a working farm, retired pigs can be seen from a bedroom window and able to pet baby lambs. Beautiful scenery all around, the wood burning stove and hot tub was added warming luxury!

A wonderful break away at the bothy. It was great to arrive to the hot tub ready and waiting for us. Towels and toiletries, kitchen essentials made those little touches just that bit better. Beautifully decorated and the beds were extremely comfortable. Host, Janet, was friendly and welcoming and responsive to any questions prior to my visit and while we were there. I cant wait to go back for a visit.

Lovely and comfortable stay all the facilities in working order. Really enjoyed our stay.

The location was perfect for us as a family. It was quite and our boys loved to have a walk and see the animals. It was also close to the venue for a family wedding we attended. The venue was beautiful, clean and a good amount of space. The host went above and beyond and we definitely will be returning.

Beautiful bright and spacious bothy in a lovely rural setting, finished to a high standard with lots of homely touches making for a cosy getaway. All the kitchen essentials you could think of for self catering and the hot tub was fantastic. We had the opportunity to see all the lovely animals on the farm and even got to bottle feed some newborn lambs which was a highlight! The host Janet was so attentive and very helpful throughout our stay and couldn’t have done more to ensure we had a good time. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

The bothy feels very homely and it's really cozy and comfortable. The soft furnishings and ornaments were such a special touch, loads of cozy blankets! The unlimited logs were brilliant! Could have the log fire and hot tub on anytime we wanted. Prosecco and shortbread on arrival was such a lovely surprise. Hot tub was great, will always remember staring at the stars and listening to the wee owl at night time. Board games, binoculars, Netflix and info on surrounding areas, walks and places to eat/drink. We loved watching the two pigs, the sheep and the two beautiful cows in the barn. We had a great chilled out long weekend :-)

Used a key safe to gain the keys however the host Janet popped by to ensure we managed to get in okay. The lodge was beautiful and had everything we needed including an amazing hot tub. Janet was on hand to help with anything we needed from her. She was a perfect host. Already in contact with her regarding booking again.

Description makes mention of the family hosts so would have been nice to see them but just let ourselves into cottage instead when no one was around.

Beautiful little cottage in a converted barn. Everything was spotless, the beds were comfortable, great shower, very well equipped and tastefully decorated. The host provided lovely welcome gifts and had really thought of everything. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars was a highlight. We visited nearby Dumfries House for a pre-booked tour which was fantastic.

The towel rail in the bathroom got extremely hot and there didn’t seem to be a way to turn it down.

can’t fault this little corner of coziness. we had a wonderful few days, was lovely to just get away from the business of life and relax

This was a real treat and lived up to its photos! It was lovely right from the moment you opened the door where the smell of the wood logs was so comforting. The hostess was there but not - if you know what I mean. And being told to use the hot tub whenever - at 3pm or 3am was wonderful and set the tone of the whole visit. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus - along with the beautifully decorated & furnished bothy. The whole bothy was very well equipped and I was especially pleased when I opened the bathroom cabinet to find bottles of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and even suntan lotion! This is a place that is loved and the hostess is so happy to share. It was so lovely to bring my daughter & grandson to the bothy as they so needed a break. They relaxed and slept so well in the lovely beds. My lasting memory is my grandson saying “can we come here again?!?” Thank you and we hope to come back soon!!!

A great wee place to chill out for a couple of days. The hot tub in the evening was idyllic with a glass of Prosecco (complimentary from the hosts). Loved walking through the farm with the friendly sheep and lambs. Thank you for a great stay.

We booked here for a 2 night midweek getaway for 3 friends. The location is private, rural and beautiful. Janet was filling up the hot tub as we arrived (as we were a bit early!) and we made use of that after we had unpacked. The kitchen is a good size for self-catering as we made dinner both nights with ease! The bothy is extremely clean, modern and tidy. I loved the log burner in the livingroom, very easy to use and heated up the room quickly. Everything you require is there including towels, hair dryer, some condiments and all cooking utensils. We even had a lovely bottle of bubbly waiting on the kitchen table for us! Lovely touch! Would definitely be back again and will recommend to friends and family.

We had an absolutely lovely weekend away. Perfect size for 4 adults and kitchen had everything you would need and more. Place was very clean, and communication was easy with hosts. They allowed us to feed the lambs and explore the property and it was amazing. Been to lots of lodges across Scotland but this was head and shoulders above anywhere I’ve stayed.

We had a brilliant stay at the farmhouse. The property was stunning, very modern, well equipped and clean. The hot tub was a nice touch and was easy to keep warm with plenty of wooden logs provided. Janet was friendly and welcoming and had everything prepared for our (later than planned) arrival. Being on a farm it was lovely to see the lambs up close. Would love to visit again. Thanks again!

A brilliant place to stay! Host was easy to contact and attentive, place was spotless with lots of lovely little touches and everything you could need already in it. Hot tub was a lovely place to sit and watch the stars at night. Welcome pack had lots of useful information with some great walks and places to visit in it. Overall I would thoroughly recommend to anyone else and we look forward to returning!

The outside light from barn was not working so when you went to the hot tub there was no light from accommodation to hot tub.

Everything. There is nothing I could fault. Clean. Cosy. Comfortable had everything you needed. Close by to walks for the dog. Altho the bothy is next to the farm building itself it still was extremely private but was great to know if there was any issues owners were close by. We were here for 2 night Xmas eve and Xmas day and I managed to cook a full Christmas dinner the kitchen had everything I needed. There is a smart TV which is an excellent touch. There is 2 bedrooms only of 1 we used. The double room was extreamly comfortable. The shower was clean and powerful.

We had a wonderful (if too short time) in your lovely bothy. They’ve done a great job turning it into something comfortable and cozy. Nice that you can bring your dog and use the hot tub (although not together). Janet was great at communicating with us and set up the hot tub so that it was ready to go.
